“Cvmaker is a simple subscription trap scam, where they try their best to hide subscription based nature of the service. The way cvmaker tries to hide this, could almost make it illegal in certain countries. And even after writing to them , they keep debiting on some pretext till push comes to shove. Do not use this service”
“Scammers!!!!! I only paid for a 7 day access to my cv and they took £18.95 from my account without my consent. Refused refund saying the account goes to auto renewal after 7 days! I one authourized a one time payment of £1.95!!! Avoid them at all cost, pure evil scam!!!!!!!!”
“Pure scam, they charge you 0.99 for a one time purchase, but secretely set u up for a montly 17,95 payment, i dont understand how paypal cooperates with this scammers”
“Like many other reviews, I was lured into paying $1.95 for a resume. It was not made clear to me that it was a subscription, and I was charged $24.95 without my consent. Stay away.”
“Do not use this website with your credit card!
I used this once and paid then for printing out two cv’s. I never subscribed for any more service.
Today they charged me twice for nearly 51 Euro total!”
“This is the biggest scam website that is allowed online, and it also ranks on the first pages of Google search results. They are a scam and are protected simply because they operate out of the Netherlands. Never use this scam website with your credit card; they will charge you without your permission. I hope it is shut down as soon as possible.”
“It is the worst customer experience of my entire life!!! Originally, I wanted to create a CV as they advertised this service, for 2 dollars. I am used to subscribing to various services and have never had any problems previously. I created a nice CV this time (could have done it for free somewhere, but I had to do it asap) and was charged 2 dollars. However, it turned out to be that there was fine print that I hadn't read, because, as I've mentioned before, I was so nonchalant about it because of my previous positive experience. So, as it turned out, one morning they charged me 25 dollars out of the blue. I was shocked. I didn't remember SUBSCRIBING to anything! It was especially sensitive to me because I'm from Ukraine and every single cent is important to me. I wrote to their support in a kind way, as I used to do before with other services, to kindly give me a full refund. They replied that according to their policy it was impossible. So, the fact was that I hadn't really agreed to any subsription. It was only written in fine print, which is abslolutely misleading! As a customer, I am entitled to get a full refund of a service within 14 days without a reason. I began sending them multiple complaints mentioning this problem. I was still very emotional. They sent me two emails and then started ignoring me. Then I started writing to their live chat many time. Once, they only referred to their Terms & Policies and quit the chat, then ignored most of my messages and when I only pretended to be another customer, they answered that I was being impolite to them as I wrote that if they didn't fulfill my request, I would go to the police and file a chargeback request at my bank. I am broken now. It's such a mean trick to steal from unemployed people who are literally at war now!!! I must warn you that these scammers operate all around the world: there are websites in Ukrainian, Russian, English, Spanish, etc. Their physical address is in Amsterdam [Piet Heinkade 221 1019HM Amsterdam The Netherlands] so I have filed a scam complaint to the Dutch police.
They believe nobody would care for $25 dollars and go to the police because of that matter, but they messed up with a wrong person.”
“They claim they will charge you 1.95 EUR for a CV and you will end up paying 1.95EUR + 17.95EUR.
They will charge you a subscription without you even notice and PayPal will decide on their favor if you request for a refund.
You will never recover your money back. Be aware. Never use this site.”
“Sunt niste țepari ordinari si culmea este ca fac totul legal. Au un site care te imbarliga cand tu crez ca platesti pentru un CV, defapt te aboneaza la ei si dupa 7 zile te ard de 90 de lei”
“SCAM. Massive false advertisement. There are shady and incredibly unethical business practices going on with this website. Avoid at all costs.
The websites claims that there are two models for your account, a free service, which claims to "Create and edit your CV, Free account to save your CV"
and a subscription service.
I built my CV and went to save it to my computer, then a paywall block came up. I thought, well I've already made this effort. Might as well pay the low cost of £1.95 so it doesn't go to waste.
Worst idea.
This payment of £1.95, nowhere clearly stated, enables them to sign you up for a subscription service for nearly £20 a month. £20 A MONTH!
This is nowhere clearly stated on the site. I've talked to the live chat support to obtain a refund and they told me that they can't do this, as their terms are stated in an email received after the first payment to download your CV.
Is this ethical? Hiding a subscription service and not telling you until you've already paid for a product? Where the fee is nothing more than authorization to charge your bank account £20 a month for a service that somebody is never going to use.
Avoid at all costs. Worst company.”
“Fake business. Niște hoți, mi au extras bani după o lună de când am platit 10 lei pt descărcarea unui cv, bani pe un abonament pe care nu îl făcusem. Fusese gol contul și nu au avut de unde trage, iar când am alimentat au tras de ori într-o săpt cate 90 lei.”
