“I was Scammed by CVmaker.comI Sign up on April 15, 2024 at website and made a CV paying $1.82 for the CV.
I was not informed at any moment that it was automatically a subscription, and they DID NOT say at any moment that I will be charged monthly. And for what? Nothing.
I was charged in 2024 April $23.46 and now in 2024 May, $23.46 when I noticed and canceled on my own only by clicking deactivate account.
Even then, I was not sure if deactivating my account will cancel my subscription.
I asked for the money back but they said that their policy blla blla blla.”
“BIG SCAM! I subscribed for 1 week access and discovered that I have been billed $25 for the past year! Terms and conditions were definitely not disclosed and nor did a get a monthly invoice to my email address.”
“At first it only shows 1.5 dollar to make an CV . After paying 1.5 dollar after a week message pops up that CV makers have deducted 20 dollars from your account due to subscription.
This is totally scam fraud. I will report in more places”
“Be aware, big scam!!! I was charged with almost 400 euros eventually. I found out the hard way and they didn't even give me back the 17 euros they had charged minutes before I contacted them. They use templates to reply to the emails as they don't care at all about your concern. I had to cancel my card too but I'm not sure I'm protected still.
Edit: after I started sharing reviews, the amount I had paid of 14 months (while I was charged for 22). The money seem to have been sent to me by them, however I don't exclude the possibility for them to have been refunded through my bank. I thought (and I'm pretty sure) they are the one that took actions and sent them back, as I read another's review claiming that they give you your money back to make you delete your review. So I sent them an email telling them that I didn't received the whole amount back (only 14/22 months) an they replied with what you can read in this screenshot”
“I only subscribed for the 7 day subscription for £0.99 as I wanted to use it only one time I realized a few hours ago that they have a pending transaction of £19.99 .Please help
Since the transaction is still pending I will contact my Bank before it's approved”

“It downloaded my subscriptions. Which I canceled within 1 minute I didn't use any of their features. They don't give back the money. That's all they count on.”
“They will lure you in with a 2$ offer, then you will be charged for 25 dollars for the following week. They do not explicitly state the terms of their offer and it is only covertly mentioned in their terms.
Organizations that resort to this sort of method should be shut down.”
“Terrible bunch of thieves
They lure you in, get you involved in a subscription in the 'small print' then relinquish all responsibility as they bleed money off you for a really amateur CV writing service
Go and get your Dad to write your CV It will be free n about the same level of creativity and professional input
STAY AWAY!”
“Marrreerr teapa iti introduci datele cardului si iti iau bani din cont!! Faceti urgent charge back la banca! La 3 charge back uri o sa le inchida contul si aveti si sansa sa va recuperati banii! Asa am facut eu charge back la banca, plangere la politie si plangere EEC, centrul european al consumatorilor, precizati si ca firma nu v a emis factura pe sumele platite si ca nu exista afisate datele firmei sau numar de telefon de contact!”
“This is a scam and fraud. They are stealing your money without you knowing it!!! BEWARE! you will not be paying only 1.95 to create a CV, you will be, unknowingly, automatically subscribed to their services for which they will charge you 24.95 each month!!!!
Here is for your information their approach:
Thank you for your email.
I was unfortunate to read that you did not understand that our service is a monthly membership. The way our service works is described on our website. Our service can only be used on the basis of a subscription. The price for the CVmaker service is $1.95 for unlimited access for 7 days. After the 7-day period, your account is automatically renewed each month for $24.95.
The reason why our service can only be used on the basis of membership is as follows: The membership makes it possible to securely store, edit, and download your Resumes, application letters, and submitted job applications from any desired location. Your data is never lost and always within reach.
To answer your question more in-depth, I have listed below point-by-point the places where you can find information about the way we work and the costs involved:
On the homepage
In the Frequently Asked Questions area (FAQ)
In the general terms and conditions (you agree to this when filling in your personal details)
On the payment page before you pay
In the email with your login details, which you receive immediately after the initial payment
After the payment on your account page (with the date of renewal)
In addition, membership brings you the following options:
Create and download unlimited Resumes and application letters
Tracking and sending applications
Use our job searcher
Your Resumes and application letters are securely stored online and always accessible
If you no longer wish to make use of CVmaker, you can cancel your membership at any time by logging in and going to your account page. You can cancel the membership at the bottom of the account page.
Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund in this case according to our guidelines.
Since you have already canceled the membership, you no longer need to take any further actions. You should have received an email with a confirmation of the deregistration, therefore, no further costs will be charged from that moment on. If you still need your data, you can always log in to re-activate your account.
I hope to have informed you sufficiently. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best regards,
Jessica Johnson

“You pay for a CV 1.95Euro to make and download a CV, and that is all fine!
But then after a few days they try to charge you 24Euro for a subscription you never did!
They provide you no credentials to access the site or whatsoever! They simple charge you, based on your payment details, and you don't know where did it came from!!
Be very carefull.”
“Total Scam!!!!!!!! I wish I had read the reviews before I even created my cv. There is so many hidden costs. I paid for my 7 day trial and I cancelled the subscription however they still want me to pay an outstanding amount. I do not recommend at all.!!!!!!!”
“I strongly advise against engaging with this service. Initially, I paid about 2€ for a trial, but now they are deducting about 20€ from my account every month without authorization. Moreover, their customer support is unhelpful and unresponsive when it comes to resolving the issue; their primary focus appears to be extracting money rather than providing assistance. This experience has left me feeling scammed and deceived, and I caution others to avoid this service at all costs.”
