“Got my order wrong, I went into the Harlow store to have it rectified and was told it would be and I would get a text,call or email about my order being sorted out..........2 months later still no email,text nor call.”

“Once my on-line registration was complete your ordering system was logical and easy to follow. I particularly liked the ability to track the progress of the order which gave confidence and comfort in the process. Some constructive observations though. Firstly I had difficulty registering and visiting my local store did not receive the help I should have had to complete the process. Only one member of staff appeared trained to help, not much use when he was not in. Secondly when I arrived to pick up the products I had to que behind in store till paying customers; this should have been quicker and there should have been help at a dedicated, clearly marked pick up point. As I am sure on line business will grow this is something I think you should look at as in store organisation rather spoilt the quality of the on line service...surprising as the on line stuff is usually the hardest thing to get right. Finally very disappointed that your range of fishing gear has been so drastically reduced; I know you must have looked at sales before you did this but I think this sector would have worked much better if you had employed anyone at all who had specialist knowledge in the area. I look at how "Go outdoors" organise their angling dept far better and have dedicated managers for this sector in their stores. No fishing shops open beyond 5.30 pm, most shut at 5, very few open Sundays, so you potentially have a massive advantage in opening hours when people are not working. I am very familiar with other Decathlon stores; I often visit your Bethune store in Northern France. The angling range there is so much more comprehensive and prices are very competitive to the UK. If your angling range was better presented, better managed and advertised I believe it could be very successful but you need trained and knowledgable staff to sell it!”

“The item I ordered was showing availability online but it wasn't even in stock (they are still showing stock online even now) part number is 8276273, I wasn't given the option to have them put on back order or even an alternative, I was just told that a refund would be given back to my account and that she was sorry, to say I was unhappy was an understatement, I've used Decathlon for years and never had a problem "in the shop". I would be very hesitant about using the online ordering system again as it is obviously inaccurate.”

“Good quality clothing - a hoodie and a winter cycling jersey, which arrived swiftly. Had to return the hoodie for a larger size - customer services were excellent when I contacted them to advise the I'd made a mistake on the returns form. The replacement duly arrived within days, no fuss.”

“Excellent customer service in the bike dpt (the manager and staff), when I was buying a road bike - not for the first time. My only comment is that I wish the supply chain would permit the higher end road bikes to be at least on view in store, since I like to try before I buy. The products are excellent in terms of design and quality as well as being value for money. This goes for the cycling clothing and accessories as well as for the bikes.”

“Good mail order service- but Saloman Goretex gloves in Large were too small for me, despite my Decathelon normal ski gloves size large fit me comfortably. Also, the goretex ones in EX Large were tight !”

“We have used Decathlon at Lakeside many times over the last eight years, mainly for my daughter and her various sports. I usually manage to find what I want at a reasonable price and all staff I have come across have been extremely helpful.”
