Hi Catherine, thanks for your review.
Looking at your account I see there was some confusion over the date of birth of the dogs, which I believe we remedied.
I'm not following you entirely about what you mean by all the links. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need help at support@dogs.ie.
Thanks for your feedback Henry.
It's great to hear you have 2 sold. We have 14 other ads in the Yorkshire Terrier category and 30 other dogs for sale, so there is a bit of competition. You can edit your ad to mark the 2 sold dogs as no longer being available, e.g. if all the males are gone.
It is also possible to bump your ad to bring it back to the top of the listings for more visibility.
Thanks for your review Denis, and for the idea for profiles. We do encourage sellers to ask the buyers a bit about their homes and to use our contract to make sure all details of both parties are collected properly.
Hi Thomas, thanks for your review. I take it you didn't make to sell your puppy yet. There are currently 783 open ads with 2,017 available dogs, so there are a lot of ads looking for buyers' attention.
Looking at your ad, I'd recommend making it clearer what puppy you are selling. Some of your images have 3 puppies, but you've only listed that one for sale. This might help clear up some confusion. Let me know if I can be of any further help.
Victoria, thanks for your review. Sorry that you weren't happier.
I'm glad you found homes for your 5 Jack Russells. We feel that the current price is fair, we do a number checks in the background, and verify all users on the site by SMS, so there are costs for running a site like this properly.
The founder is originally from Cork and now lives in the US.
Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you didn't have a 5 star experience.
We do charge the same price for a litter of dogs or a single dog. So sellers of single dogs, like yourself, would pay a higher price per dog.
I hope you found a great new home for your dog.
“Good place to advertise the different breeds but it seemed to be more viewed previously and with the amount of adverts in there now it is quite easy and quickly for your advert to be placed further down the viewing listings. And then to boost it you need to pay extra funds ?”
Hi Anon, thanks for your review. As I write this we have 639 open ads with 1,610 available dogs, so there is a lot of competition for sellers, especially for the more popular breeds. This is also the time of year where sales are a little slower, due to people tending to hold off until the summer holiday period. Looking at your ad you could add in a few more photos to give people information to compare your puppies, hopefully that will help to find your puppies new homes.
Thank you for your review, we are sorry you had a negative experience, we are in the process of updating the image uploader to make it more user friendly. I'm glad you found a home for your puppy.
“Far to expensive to advertise and I haven't got 1 reply yet. Price gougeing comes to mind.
But selling dogs unfortunately the media are allowed to attack them without any response.”
Thanks for your review Michael. Older dogs are harder to rehome / sell, unfortunately, so this could be one issue with the ad. Was it easier to sell the previous time when you had the 5 puppies listed ?
Hopefully someone will reach out over the weekend that’s interested.
Thanks for your review Anon. Most people tend to look through categories for certain breeds they are interested in, rather than looking at all of the dogs available. Here your dog would be listed higher. For example https://dogs.ie/dogs/st-bernard/ Your ad is number one here right now.
Currently we have over 20 pages / 500 open ads, so that would be quite the list if they view all. It is possible to bump your ad back up to the top of the list should you so wish. I hope you found a great new home for your dogs
“Dogs .ie is excellent site very safe to advertise your pups and the notify you of any queries
Only problem I would have because is so safe it can take time to get the advertisement approved”
Thanks for the feedback Martina.
Sorry about the delay in publishing your ad. We can't publish ads when the microchips are not fully registered with one of the 4 approved registries (Animark, IKC, ICC, Fido). In some cases this can delay ads being published, often it's due to vets posting in applications, rather than registering them online.
“There are places that would make this better there's no category for my dog except doodle and the colour chart is lacking so much in the colour spectrum I suggest u update it using poodle colours ...I could suggest more but there's no place to do so”
Hi Anon, Sorry you didn't have a 5* experience. We are adding more categories soon, and Labradoodle is one of the ones that will be added. This should be live in the coming months. What are the colours we are missing?
The FCI standard: Solid colour: black, white, brown, grey, fawn, pale fawn to red fawn or even be orange fawn (apricot) and I believe these ones are covered, but let us know if there are others.
Thanks for the feedback, as we charge the same if there is one or 6 dogs in the litter, it may feel like smaller litters or single dogs for sale are more expensive to sell. We will share your feedback with the product team.
