Website was great, easy to manage and manoeuvre albeit quite pricey. My main concern is not with the website but the manner in which I was treated by potential customers. I understand it’s out of your control but I encountered far more hostility and abusive rhetoric than what I was expecting. There must be a potential way to encourage customers to act in a respectful and responsible manner rather than to become abusive when they fixate on a price over the wellbeing of an animal.

I found it to be a normal format for selling any item, photograph, title, or description. You have to input the microchip numbers. I wasn't sure of the price when I started the advert and at the end, it was €50 for 4 pups to be advertised. It is about 10 years since I advertised a litter so I found it to be excessive but you don't have any platforms for selling pups so you have no choice. I was happy enough to get them on the site. It's difficult to know when you have received a message so you need to monitor either your emails or go to the site regularly. You can change to Watts App after the first communication which I find so much better. After 4 days and 3 out of the 4 pups being booked, I noticed the bump button which said 3 more bumps available, so that weekend I decided to bump the ad. I was shocked to find that another payment of €15 was required to do this. I do find €65 extortionate for 5 days of advertising when you compare other for-sale websites. I was happy it didn't go another weekend and need another €15 bump. I did want to edit the advert but the edit button didn't allow me to change the description about the 1 pup that was still available. It only allowed me to change the status of the chip numbers and pups that were sold or on hold. The site can automatically change the description for you if you choose this option, but I found the description that was offered to be very fake and over the top sickly and generic and not really how people speak regardless of how they feel about their pups so beware when you see that over the top description, it's from a button you press and the website re words your advert. Stepford wives description. (perfect family, perfect life perfect puppy) This is not reality.

Hi Denise, Thanks for taking the time to leave a detailed and honest feedback. We will take it onboard. Just to clarify, the price per ad is €50, whether you are selling 1,3 or 10 dogs and ads are live for 30 days. Bumping your ad adds on an additional 5 days to your ad and costs €12. Generally dogs sell within a few days, like you experienced. We had to lock ad descriptions as people were selling multiple dogs in the same ads, which then didn't have the details that are required by law, e.g. proper date of birth, microchip numbers, etc. You can contact support@dogs.ie at any time should you need any thing changed in there. We do have the option for people to contact you via phone & whatsapp more info can be seen here. https://help.dogs.ie/knowledge-base/contacting-advertisers/

Hi Michael, I'm sorry you are not 100% happy with your ad. The price of the ad is clearly stated before you pay for it, so there shouldn't be any surprises. As for the layout, can you share a bit more info about what you don't like ? We've tried hard to make it look good on mobile and desktop computers.

Hi David, I'm sorry you are not happy with your ad so far. I see you did get 1 inquiry via the messaging system. We do have 16 other ads for Rottweilers, so there is a bit of competition. I've updated your ad to put the first image of one of your pups show its face, they tend to do better. Your ad has gotten some views, over 200, since it was posted. Hopefully you will get some calls soon.

It's good advertising but way to deer for a person to advertise alot. I'm a registered breeder and get no discount.

Hi Patrick, Thanks for your review, I'm sorry you are not 100% happy with the service. To be fair to all breeders, ad prices are the same for hobby breeders, Registered Sellers of Pets or Dog Breeding Establishments. If you are VAT registered we can accept your VAT number and take that off the cost ads. If you email support@dogs.ie we can help you set that up.

Hi Tristan Thanks for your review, and I’m sorry you are not 100% happy with it. If you enable the phone display option then anyone on the internet can see your number and contact you. You can disable it so people have to contact you through the website instead. In your review you mention illegal breeders. If you can share some more information about this to support@dogs.ie we can have a look into it.

Hi Lorna Thanks for your review and I'm sorry you are not 100% happy with things. We had to lock descriptions as people started selling different dogs in the same ad once they were sold. This led to issues with ads with inaccurate information. If you contact support@dogs.ie at any time we can update the description with any changes you need.

Good site as I did sell my dog, however there is an awful amount of scamming going on with this site, people from England contacting and I have used this site in the past to buy a pup and someone wanted me to send them money and they would courier the dog. If there was a way for this site to clamp down on scammers it would be great.

The site and response was good, but 50 euros to sell ONE puppy, who I was only asking 150 euros for was far too expensive. Price for one pup should be much less. I get it if you have a litter of ten, but not one dog.

Hi Pam Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you are not 100% happy with the pricing. We do share the costs publicly before you purchase an ad, so there shouldn't be any surprises. The cost of an ad has not changed in almost 3 years. For simplicity we have a single price per ad. We used to charge per dog before but people tended not put out all dogs into their ads when there was an individual cost per dog.

Thanks for your review Michael & Paul, I'm sorry you don't feel it to be user-friendly. Can you share some details about how we could achieve this? We always appreciate feedback to support@dogs.ie We do know that the ad has many fields, and we are working on a way to help people create better descriptions in the coming weeks, hopefully that will make posting an ad a bit easier.

I think the page is good but there should be 5 free bumps as 50e is expensive to advertise, plus I really think the add edit system should be able to be accessed because what if circumstances change and you need to write down more. Or you should have wrote more and then regretted the description.
