“The only problem we can’t advertise earlier.
I understand about microchip
But you don’t get to know the new owner very well .
When you could advertise earlier you can meet new owners first at about 3-4 weeks .
They then wpuld come back at 8-9 weeks to collect puppies and have your puppies all gone to their new homes all the same time .
Therefore puppies are not getting upset and mum when they are going at different times .
It also gives you time to see are the new owners legit and able for a new puppy .”
Hi Martin
Thanks for the feedback and the review.
We've had to lock the description as people were swapping in and out other dogs in their ads. If you reach out to support@dogs.ie at any time we can help you update your ad text for you.
“I find the site excellent to sell my puppies and I get a very quick response if I have any enquiries.
My problem is the price of the ads. I am a registered dog breeder and if I have a litter of just 1 puppy. It is expensive to put up an ad.
I understand that we got great money for puppies during covid but the price of puppies have seen a sharp decline and the price of the ad is very expensive for a single puppy. Could ye decrease ye're price?? Kind regards Eily O'Callaghan”
Hi Eily,
Thanks for your review and feedback.
The one price, either per littler or per dog is to make things as simple as possible for the breeders / sellers of dogs on the website. We do accept that it's more expensive when it's a single dog in a litter. Your previous ad had 6 dogs, so in that case it's better value at approximately €7/ dog.
We previously (more than 5 years ago) priced ads based on number of dogs in a litter, but we found sellers only putting in one or two dogs from a littler. We want to encourage that breeders put in all dogs from the in the litter in ads.

“After paying, the ad was published but then disappeared for some reason, i tried contacting vía the link but got no reply, the next day I contacted avía really my to the email sent to meI had to have it republished, which, in fairness was done immediately. I wanted to delete the ad once my dog was sold but couldn’t, I edited it to “sold” instead. €50 to sell multiple dogs is reasonable but pricey for selling 1 dog. I like that as much as you can, you try to verify the chip number.”
