I wish I could give them zero stars. Absolutely appalled. I paid for next day delivery to have some baked goods sent to a customer so that they would get them as fresh as possible. The parcel was delayed and the guarantee said it would be delivered by the close of business on 3rd June. It did not get delivered until 5th June. When I rang DPD Local on the 4th, they told me it was because the parcel was misdirected. That is NOT my problem. They then claimed that I did not purchase guaranteed next day delivery. They have misleading information on their website and do this to charge you more for a substandard service. The baked goods were not fresh, so not only have I wasted product, I'm out of pocket for the product and the delivery. To add insult to injury, the box was battered when it got to my customer. They claim that food is on the prohibited list but they have added ridiculous items to the list that have catch all terms like 'fragile items', ‘clothes’, ‘documents’ etc to absolve themselves of any responsibility. I had to beg for them to give me a refund and even then they refunded me a tiny portion as a 'goodwill'. Even with that, they said they would add it to my prepay account as if I would ever risk using DPD Local again. I put my foot down and asked for the refund to the account I used to pay for it (Paypal) and eventually they agreed. All that hassle for practically zero payoff. If you are a small business, DO NOT USE DPD. Especially if you are new and still trying to build up a loyal customer base. This will harm your business.

Failed to deliver a next day delivery parcel. Asked for it back after the parcel sitting at the depot for 1 week and ended up with a damaged parcel. Don't bother to complain, their answer will be " it's not the driver's fault, they are pushed for time."

Worst delivery service ever, lost my parcel almost a month ago now, and they still are saying they are looking for it. 0 stars, worst service ever.

I accept that it is possible for courier companies to lose packages but reading these reviews of DPDLocal, I am surprised they manage to make any deliveries. I booked my parcel and left it at the drop off shop where it was scanned in and collected by the courier. So far so good and all showing on the tracking site but that was the last time my parcel was seen. For over a month, I battled with agents via online chat to try and get some information about the parcel being continually told they will let me know in 1-2 working days (nothing), then 5-7 working days (nothing). They even told me they requested information from the courier who collected the parcel but after 21 days, the courier provided them with no information. I know what that suggests to me. I then discover Sinead Croke, Director of Customer Experience, who invites you contact her if you are unhappy. Don’t waste your time with Ms Crook as she will ignore your emails, will pass you to her minions and they will bounce you from pillar to post in the hope of wearing you down. You really get an insight to this company when you start to query these people. The way they deal with their customers is disgusting. Having given me no information whatsoever about my parcel, they finally said it was lost and I needed to submit a claim. At this point, they announced it was nothing to do with them but Parcels2Go who I had never heard of. They insisted this is who my contract was with and I needed to deal with them via online chat. How strange when they gave me a link to the DPDLocal chat service and I’m back dealing with the same useless people. It’s difficult to know where DPD Local, Parcels2Go and the red DPD start or end as they are so intertwined, and their agents will deny they are linked to the other companies. The one thing they have in common is the elusive Ms Crook who appears on all three companies promising miserably to make things right. Hopefully you find these reviews before booking unlike me who foolishly trusted them with my valuables.

We have had the absolute worst experience possible with DPD. They have lost three out of seven boxes we shipped. The boxes contain personal items with emotional and material value. It is now March 16th and for 10 days I have been trying to get someone at DPD local or DPD to do something to find our box. We have had no luck at all, no one has done anything to locate our box. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. There is no customer service for DPD local UK and there is a live chat which is not live at all. An automate response spits FAQ's at us with no help with our lost parcel at all. We have not been able to speak with anyone about this and it seems DPD and DPD local UK do not care at all. Update: We got a completely useless response from DPD Local web-form sending us back to the live chat where it is not possible to speak with a human: "Hi Nicolas Thank you for contacting us. I see your parcel order was booked through our DPD Local Online website and we have a dedicated team who can look into this matter. Please visit the link below to contact our DPD Local Online Team. https://www dot dpdlocal-online dot co dot uk/newhelpcentre/livechat Have a nice day. Regards Nilesh B DPD Local Team"

Driver couldn’t be bothered to find my address, took a picture of an empty building a few doors down and said I wasn’t in.

Pathetic service. Failed collections, failed deliveries both in time .. and completely ... all year around. Impossible to get hold of anyone in order to resolve the issues. Email don't get replied to and the phone never answered. Will be moving to any company able to deliver properly (any would probably do better), both for my personal as well as company needs.
