“Don't ever use these shylocks! I am now £98 out of pocket because of their poor communication and service, I tried to return bought goods but because of dpd they never received it and now have missed return window. dpd eventually returned the parcel to me after weeks and spending ages trying to get hold of customer non-service, but too late to get a refund and they won't even refund their charge They are the worst parcel delivery company imaginable, never received a confirmation email, unable to track the parcel with their system DON'T USE!”
“APALLING SERVICE - Parcel sent beginning of February and returned back to UK but stuck in HUB3 no one taking responsibility of actioning this parcel - also received an email from a fraud company asking to input bank details for parcel to be redelivered the next day - found out today it was a scam and now resulted in me contacting the bank and cancelling my bank card luckily it has not been used as yet in between.
APPALLING SERVICE I JUST WANT MY PARCEL BACK SO I CAN RESEND TO GERMANY...!!!!”
“Absolutely the worst I’ve ever experienced!!!
7 large parcels send due to moving. All went to wrong the address. The person who received them has told the driver that these were not their parcels but the driver has insist to leave all the parcels on their driveway. Poor elderly said that they could not to move those heavy large parcels and it was going to rain. But the driver doesn’t care. Then the couple rang me from the number on the parcel ticket, that’s how I know my parcels were missing. I then informed DPD local about this using the live chat straightway and got promised that they would send someone back to collect them and redeliver on the same day, but never happen. Contacted again several time, got similar promise, but never happen. Then few weeks later, I got told that no one was going to collect them and I have to through claim procedure and declare those parcels were missing. Well, then I got to prove the value despite that the value was declare when booking the delivery. That’s not enough, I have to have receipts, bank statements to prove the value. Ridiculous, how would people keep receipt for all their clothes, shoes, books, cooking and dinning stuff etc. After the arguments, they agreed to pay compensation then disappeared! When I contact again, it either go through robot or saying the service is actually carried out by parcel to go, so there will not be able to do any etc. Excuse after excuse.
Parcels were send in Oct 20, now Mar 21. Issue still not resolved. I have kept some chat screenshots so people can see how frustrating this is. However, this site will it let me upload too many photos.
Just to let everyone else know. DPD local is not DPD (the good reputation one). DPD local uses subcontractor Parcel to go, so whatever happened they can just push the responsibility elsewhere. DPD local does not actually have a costumer service line, no actual person to speak to, and can only communicate through live chats. There is no manger to speak to and nowhere to raise complaints and cannot arrange call back. When you get promises through live chats, don’t take it seriously, they just want to finish talking to you ASAP. Their attitude is just being polite so you can leave and wait few more days. When you contact again, it will be someone else’s to deal with the issue. You got explain the whole thing over gain. No one is there to take the ownership to deal with the issue. So you may just ends giving up. Things may seem ok when they don’t go wrong, but absolutely a nightmare if anything go wrong!”
“I worked for dpd local in speak Merseyside. I worked though the agency we do commercials. It’s a proper disgrace. I was getting £1 per parcel or £80 a day , so if I done 100 parcels I should get £100 . That never happened I got 80 near all the time. They also give you say 100 parcels and then send you say 5 maybe 7 to collect so you might have to go somewhere and pick multiple packages up can be any amount sometimes 100 and at the end of your pick ups take them back the depo and unload them . They would still only pay you £1 for the pick up that’s if you’re lucky most of the time you get nothing you’re just expected to do it . If you then say you’re not doing any to collect they more or less get rid of you. They say you are definitely in tomorrow so you get all your stuff ready then you get a text at 4.30am saying don’t come in your on standby so you then sit there waiting an most of the time they don’t bother to even tell you you’re not in . The lads in the office act like there your mate then stab you in the back . They pick an choose ho they want in and if you don’t kiss there a...... you don’t get in . There just like bullies to be honest. Do your self a favour and stay away they just use you .”
“This company is an absolute joke. If you look carefully on the website there are two sets of Terms and Conditions. They change and thus your contract is then made with a different company called Parcels2go.
DPD really needs to sort it's act out, it is meant o be one of the best. Chronopost in France had a far better customer experience, without all the bullsh*t that these people spout. Repeatedly told by them that parcel was lost and then found and then lost etc. The default position is "We will raise an investigation". I have been waiting 7 weeks for some contact reference a price for return from the local depot....
The worst bit is the ILLEGAL use of two sets of Terms and Conditions.
Please DPD Local, do deny that this is not he case on a Public Forum, or please do take me to court or admit the mistake and change it!”
“The worst courier service I've ever encountered in my entire life. Three days in a row the driver turned up to my house, whilst I was at home waiting everytime and didn't even knock my door!!! Left a card and went, completely bizarre. Turned up 3 and a half hours early on day 3! I have a sticker covering my bell, as it does not work and a massive sign on my door to knock hard. I also given the instructions to Dpd over the phone, to tell the driver to knock on the door several times,
really hard and the bell doesn't work, also to call my mobile if he has any problems, yet he still didn't not do it or call me. Guess they didn't even pass on the message?COMPLETE SHAMBLES. Will I ever get my delivery Dpd???”
“Never choose this company local dpd Northampton. They are scammers and thieves. Parcels are delivered to different addresses and are stolen. There is no assistance from local dpd Northampton. Important parcels that people are waiting for are lost. Local dpd northampton knows about the problem and does nothing about it, allowing its driver to cheat and steal”
“!! DO NOT USE THIS COURIER, LOSS ITEMS AND 0 INFORMATION !!
I am writing this review to report the following situation:
Since January 1st, I ordered 3 boxes and 1 hold bag containing clothes, documents, personal items, hygiene products, kitchen utensils, a skateboard. I paid £ 254.58 for this service. On the 6th of January the boxes were taken by the dpd and on the following day, the 7th of January, it was indicated in the tracking part that they would be returned because they contain items that could not be transported according to the dpd rules. So, when I heard about it, I went to the online chat and asked how long it took to be returned and I was told it would be between 7 to 14 days. After 14 days, I went back to the online chat to ask what was going on because I hadn't received anything yet and an inquiry was opened to find out where the boxes were.
The problem is that until now I still don't know the parcels' whereabouts, I have contacted the local dpd customer support numerous times and have never been able to indicate the exact location, or what would happen with the boxes. They opened an inquiry and requested evidence documents, and I submitted the documents. But in this case what concerns me is my things, not the refund or the value of them.
So, from now on I decided to deal with this issue via email, because online chat has already turned off the chat to me twice while I was answering, because no one knows anything about my parcels. From now on I demand to know where my boxes and suitcase are, I need a concrete answer, more than a month has passed and still nothing. I hope to get a response, if I don't I will take advantage of filing a complaint anywhere on the local dpd and proceed with this case to court.”
“DPD local stolen my parcel before Christmas. They didn’t record the item on drop-off, just took away and disappeared, when I claimed several times they always had a different answer, they no bothered to investigate, eventually after 2 months past they said I contacted them too late, and the claim is closed, later when I proven that I contacted them in time they said that the parcel contained prohibited items so they can’t help.
They don’t want to refund money nor pay insurance. It’s a big scam!!
It is a THEFT!
Never experience such a poor standards and no ethic of the company!!!
Avoid them!!!”
“Proof on system driver has not even dared to attempt to deliver after tracking parcel live and and watching through window as important parcel and photo shows he has not been to my door, depot has chosen not to correct the drivers issue and driver has not been able to be reached. Terrible and disgusting service from the Basildon depot and it’s drivers if your a sender would not recommend using DPD local as your customer will have the worst service and will reflect your brand. DO NOT USE!”
“No way of contacting them. They lost a £100 value item which costed me £30 to send to Italy to begin with. There is no telephone number or an email address to contact them. if you look very hard (like 5 min) they have an online chat bot. if you manage to pass the bot, you will be in the queue number 77 and wait for a joker to deal with you via chat. after a very long and tiring process, my claim for the lost item repeatedly failed as they kept asking for a document I have uploaded 3 times. no matter what you do, all files you upload to support claim will be rejected. Yes, they may deliver most of the parcels without an issue but it is lost or damaged, then you have no chance or leg to stand as they keep repeating themselves making you give up at the end. I am well out of pocket. If you can, avoid using this company.”
“Very Bad Customer Service
I dropped my parcel off at a pick-up point before Christmas where it languished until I retrieved it myself a week later - untouched by DPD hands.
That's bad enough but now I can't get my money back. Customer Service ignore my emails, or fob me off to 'chat' which is also useless.
I thought DPD was a good company before this experience.”
“Unfortunately there is no option of zero star. PLEASE AVOID DPD-LOCAL IS BIG SCAM. They are just broker of DPD company.
My Parcel worth £570, we dropped the parcel to their drop point then after never received the parcel. I really wasted my time to contact to both companies DPD-LOCAL and DPD. After so much frustration I contacted of their CEO. I never received the parcel, I had no insurance so they didn't pay anything. When I dropped the parcel then after they have no record where my parcel is, it's clear their own staff mishandled/stolen the parcel. They don't have any sufficient answer to give me. I will never trust DPD again, they are just robbing people with DPD-LOCAL. I request to trade and standard and all consumer rights authorities if they are looking customers reviews then please take serious action how these companies are still operating with lowest standard in UK. They upseted so many customers.

“Paid 150 pounds for DPDlocal.co.uk services shipment of a important box from UK to Europe. After three days whole box is returned to the sender with no email or information driver just left 1000pounds of worth of items near return address with no explanation. When contacted through chat they keep switching explanations as "reason - brexit" or other nonsense why they could not deliver the package. Even more, they are extremely difficult to contact and when contacted to receive a refund for services they did not provide they just keep telling to wait and never solve the situation. Today I have contacted them the third time via chat and the representative said I should google what to do and just closed the chat. I imagine i should be glad atleast my package is with me and they are definitely not going to refund the money. Avoid this company at all cost.”
“Since the beginning of October 2020 this company has lead me on one of the most frustrating, elongated and hellish customer experiences I have ever found my self in. Their customer service platforms filled with people who just process complaints and you may as well be speaking with an automated service as they just follow the script, leaving you to repeat over and over again as you are passed from customer service rep to rep. We are in Jan 2021 and I still don't have my packages, a full refund or any clear answers to what is going on. The best I was offered is an empty apology and a £10 credit. I'm at the point now, where I just want my packages back and can close this most horrible experience behind me. Never again will I use this company, save yourselves and stay clear.
So I contacted the online support, again, and was passed around between multiple reps. Some abruptly left the chat in the middle of discussions, in which case I was passed to someone new whom I had to repeat and explain the ordeal over again. It seems my packages have been lost a 3rd time and now I need to provide evidence that I did not receive them, not sure how that works. It's not like I have anything better to do, let's say a full time job and family, than endlessly speak with you lot.
Update 20th Jan 2021: I have been told that my packages are lost due to the nature of the business. I was asked to provide proof of purchase and value of the items. I cannot provide this as these packages are monitors from my work place. Apparently there is nothing DPD local online can do if I cannot provide these documents. So in the end I am out of pocket on the delivery as well as the monitors which I need to reimburse my company for. Thanks dpdlocal truly you are the worst amongst the worst.”
“At the Depot they put the wrong address label on my parcel for Poland. DPD admitted their mistake and promised to sort it out, which they didn’t. I have spoken to several people who didn’t help at all, then a case was opened, this was closed without telling me. When I asked why I had heard nothing I was told several different stories, then a second case was opened. Bearing in mind DPD admitted it was their fault, I put in a claim, all they keep asking for is details and photos that I am unable to give them. So it looks as if the Christmas presents I sent and all my money has gone down the drain and I will not be reimbursed.
I think perhaps their Chief Executive should know exactly how customers are treated. To say I am disappointed is an understatement and unfortunately I would not be able to recommend them, as they really don’t seem to care for their customers and customer service seems non existent.”
“Driver ignoring important request.
We have regular deliveries from this company for our Amazon purchases. We have a notice on our front door asking delivery drivers to not ring the doorbell butto place parcels in the box provided next to the front door. We are protected by cctv and our property is gated. One particular driver ignores the notice and rings the doorbell and leaves the parcels in the open. The reason for our request is our bedbound disabled daughter is in the room at the front of our bungalow next to the front door. She is epileptic and the ringing or knocking of the door triggers seizures. She is very unwell. Most delivery personnel respect this request but one driver does not and this has caused illness in our daughter. DPD have been given the parcel numbers and details of the driver in order for them to ensure this does not happen again. This is a true and accurate review and we would like DPD to endure this never happens again.”
“I ordered a consignment from a seller on 24 hour delivery, due for arrival on 8th January 2021, between 1200 and 1300. The time slot came and went. At 1900 the tracking still shows delivery at the same time slot. I tried calling the local depot which had my consignment this morning and was rudely hung up on before I could speak. I then sent an email via the DPD app, which came back undeliverable, so absolutely no chance to try to arrange redelivery and find out what went wrong. Weekend deliveries carry a premium, so I guess my time critical consignment will not arrive some time next week. I have emailed the CEO’s office, but I doubt this will have any effect. All in all a very dissatisfactory customer experience.”
