“Fantastic start to the Ello experience. The biggest struggle with my dyslexic child has been the lack of willingness to do the work to learn how to read. We've tried a number of different options but Ello is the first to hit the right combo of gamification and education focused on struggling readers. I'm hoping to see Ello add in more phonics-specific training that is customized to each student. Add in more phonics and dyslexia focused tools and Ello will start being used very widely throughout schools to atone for the years of skipping science of reading tactics in reading education.”

“I like the app to get my kiddo reading but i dislike how long it takes to get updated progress reports. I wish it was in real time. I got an email saying hes at 10 books but when i log in it still shows 3, which is frustrating. I tried reaching out via text like it says and still havent got a response.”

Hi Adrianna, We wish it updated faster too! We know how important it is for parents and kids to see progress in real time and to celebrate those reading wins as they happen. And I’m really glad to hear Ello is helping get your kiddo reading. That’s exactly what we’re here for. Our engineering team is actively working to speed up the processing time for progress reports. Right now, due to high demand, it can take up to a day for updates to reflect, and we know that’s frustrating. Your feedback helps us prioritize this even more. I’m also really sorry you didn’t get a response when you reached out. I see a text reply on our end, so will look into what went wrong. Thank you for taking the time to share both the good and the not-so-good—we’re always working to get better.

“Overall good. It accepts incorrect words quite a bit if the first consonant and vowel are correct (ie sat vs sad, mat vs mad etc). They need to work on that.”

“I got Ello for my twin first graders who were slightly behind where they should be. I had tried 2 other apps prior to finding Ello and I'm stoping the search now! Both kids love the interactive platform that they read to, can get instant help with words, and they are very motivated by the points and videos! I'm looking forward to keeping them engaged and up on their reading as we head into summer.”

“My daughter (7) uses ello. She was struggling with her fluency: pronouncing words wrong, mumbling, and not using appropriate volume. Ello has helped her work on all of these issues & made her more excited to read than ever! She is highly motivated by the stars and unlocking new outfits. As a mom, and English teacher, I’m happy to see her excited over things that aren’t just games. It’s a perfect combination of entertaining and educational.”

“My daughter could read but had to sound out every other word, I could tell she was struggling. I saw the commercials for Elliot and decided to try it. It’s been about two months and I can already tell, her confidence is improving, words that she was sounding out she knows, and her speed is improving. I would buy this again, and I can’t wait to see her get better and better.”

“So far we have already seen an improvement in kiddos literacy. She starts kindergarten next year so we are ahead currently which can be a challenge as we have been in Spanish immersion. I do wish there was a Spanish version of this as well. I still have not found a good Spanish option.”

“Definitely recommend Ello. My 6 year old daughter was struggling to read. She had no confidence and would get upset or end up crying if she couldn’t say or pronounce the word. Now that she has been using ELLO she has been reading with confidence and she is loving it. The picture attached is a reading report from a monthly test they do at her school. The picture shows her growth in just one month! Thank you ELLO.”
