“My Vesuvius V10 (2nd Gen) ran strong for almost 5 years but about 3-6 months ago it started to miss a beat when brewing. The pump would start but there would be no water coming out the portafilter. First it happened sporadically, then it started to happen almost exclusively. After much troubleshooting and research, I figured out the issue was with the upper drain valve. It's not until you put the old and the new side by side that you realize how shaved down (and around, almost perfectly) the old one was. Espresso Parts shipped out the replacement part (a generic E61 part intended for an ECM machine) within a day and it got to me (on the other side of the country) within a couple of days. I replaced it and my machine functions as new again. I can't wait to replace the drain valve and other assorted parts, just to get ahead of more issues from similarly aged and worn out parts. I'm attaching before/after photos of the part, both free-standing and installed.”
