My car broke down ON the way to our holiday and needed a replacement part while we were two hours away from our destination. I tried three rental places walking in the pouring rain and David from the Glasgow Airport branch was the first thing that went right this day. So helpful and so lovely. Now we're finally on our way after the day from hell!

Booking was easy online. Upgraded to a larger vehicle on pick up FOC. Pick up was easy, staff friendly and helpful. Vehicle was presented in very good state.

the service was really good. the staff was really friendly and helpful, although there was a telephone ringing all the time. They put a lot of effort in trying to explain me the different insurances and help me to decide what to do. And this did not end up being the most expensive insurance.

So sad that with many things going excellently, this company chooses to ruin the experience at the end. Pick up my car in Rome, Car was beautiful, new, and awesome. Car worked flawlessly and all was great. I returned the car in Florence Italy. It was due back by noon as stated on my rental agreement. Althought difficult to find, I found the return location returned the car, and was told everything was great. Later I recieved the receipt and was charged an extra day. I did return the car at 21 minutes after noon. I contacted them and was told that they have a 29 minute grace period so I thought I would be fine. But they then told me that I left the garage in Rome 15 minutes before noon so I was over the 29 minute grace period. Only problem is my reciept said return car by 12:00 noon. I returned it with more fuel that I left with, but they will not try to handle this in a fair way. Basically they only wanted to capitalize on a full day charge for an additional 7 minutes. Worst Customer service ever. Great car...... Horibble people in the billing department. Not even considering all the other add on charges. Way to ruin a perfectly good experience.

Please be careful hiring car from Europe car. I got a PCN with their car and it turned into hell on earth. The bombarded me with harassing letters because I have not paid £25 administration fee. Europe car demanded £65:00 through the Shakespeare Martineau which I was told it was to pay for the PCN. So I have paid £25 plus £65 making it £90 in total. A month later a still got letter from barking and Dagenham council to pay the same PCN. when I contacted Europcar, The told me The £65 I paid to them was a fine. Please be careful when you hire car from them.

Rented car in San Juan, PR. The seats were disgustingly stained inside. They should at least invest in seat covers. They have newer cars that are very scratched and banged up outside. I've rented here before and cars we're in better shape.

Where do I begin. Car supposed to be delivered at 5.00pm didn’t arrive. Called up said it was on its way. Tried to call again. Shut at 6.00. Still no car. Rang insurance company. Keys posted through door without me knowing. No paper signed. No documents seen. Shocking

The car had 30k plus on the clock. Clutch and gearbox needed worked on. Odd sound from engine. Drove it to our destination and left there until our return. Did not excursions. Recommended for 5 people one large suitcase and 4 small. Definitely not large enough. Very uncomfortable in rear.

they ask for a guarantee of 100 euros, but they never return it, even if the car was returned on time, without damage and with a full tank

Really disappointed in my experience. I arrived at the Europcar desk and submitted my rental booking information which was for the agreed amount of £59. This included unlimited mileage, collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, Third Party liability etc which was satisfactory to me. The gentleman at the desk said that was all in order and asked if I might take a few minutes to register as I had never used Europcar before. I was in a rush but happy to do so. I was never asked if I wanted premium protection. That it was put on my bill without my consent is completely unsatisfactory. I have never had that happen to me before. When I am asked at a car rental if I want additional insurance I always decline. I have never had the experience of it being put on my bill without being asked. Is that the Europcar policy? I have asked them to clarify that but they have not done so. It is very suspicious practice - although a quick google search shows it has happened to many others I was told that since it was my first time using Europcar I was being given a free upgrade so i assumed that represented the difference in my paperwork I was then given a form and told to sign where the x's were. I do feel that I have been tricked into paying a higher fee. It's not just a few euros, my bill has trippled. I contacted customer complaints who more or less said it was my word against theirs and since I signed the paperwork the case is closed. Would never use again and would not recommend anyone else does

When we returned the vehicle, we had to return it to the unmanned area of the airport, no person their to check the car back in, like when i’ve returned cars in Spain and Portugal, with yourselves. We left the car parked in what we thought was a safe environment and inspected the car on departure. On returning home, you contacted me to inform me of damage to drivers side bumper, small chip of a stone or something smaller less than 5mm of damage, something we were unaware of. The car park is not tarmac all the way round and is covered with stones. The damage to the vehicle could have been caused; after we returned the car. I have asked for the photos they sent to be time stamped or dated which they have not sent yet! Or acknowledged, Other than an email detailing the cost. We took out extra insurance too! Which doesn’t seem to cover the cost of this. Along with the photo that you are claiming is worth £855.85 Damage management fee of dealing with this £42.94 After looking through lots of reviews it seems to be a common occurrence! Had there been someone at the drop off point, then this damage might have been discovered or even been proven not to be there! So be careful when hiring from this company, as they could be trying it on, and there is no proof, so I’d recommend video an arrival and when returning the car!

cammersThis company are scammers. My booking confirmation clearly stated the ‘one way fee’ for dropping the car at a different location than I collect it, was included in the quoted price. However they have charged me $55 for a one way fee. Furthermore, I dropped the car off at Perth airport at 16:00 and the booking confirmation said it had to be back by 16:30. I handed the keys to a young man who worked for Europcar in the ‘return rental car’ drop off zone, and I thanked him for his nice service. This made my airport checking much faster as I did not have to go to the Europcar desk myself. Sadly this backfired and he has scammed me by not returning the keys till 17:30. This means I have been charged an additional day hire. I can prove I was on the flight at 17:30 therefore the car was well and truly returned. They did this on purpose and have scammed me for an extra $106. Do not use them EVER! Terrible scammers and customer service is shit Unknown

A complete scam. When I went to pick up the car in Dublin, Europacar required, required me to pay €52.00 a day for insurance or get a letter from my bank at 1:00 AM on a Sunday. It would have added nearly $800 to my reservation. No indication of this anywhere. This is an outrage. I got a Budget Rental for less than the €52.a day insurance. Never trust the price at Europacar, and avoid being scammed at the last minute.

Had a rental scheduled to pick up at Santo Domingo airport already prepaidon my wife's name . However, when we got there after midnight on time on, the agent Reinaldo Perez told us there were no cars available. Frustrated as we were had and with a 2 year old child had to take a pricey Uber to the hotel. Next day afternoon we were given a car at another car at another location. After we were back in the USA we tried to contact booking and Euopcar but it's been difficult.

I can’t chose no star because they don’t deserve any star. I had the worst experience with them. I have rented the car from rentalcars.com and I did pay for the car online. When the time for depozit refund was coming they stoped money for insurance and rent again and on top off that they stopped money for additional taxes. So instead off £95GBP for 2 days vehicle rent they charge me £276GBP. If you want to be ripped off just rent a car from them!

Go hire a car somewhere else. Our car alarm was going off for two days. Called the call centre so many times no one would deal with it. Kept getting passed around then they would hang up. Charged me for the whole rental when the car was unusable. Told me the filed a complaint for me but they didn't. They also said they would call me back within 15 minutes 3 times and never called me back. Worst car hire company I have ever dealt with. I would rather get the bus than deal with these people again. Stay well away. Sixt or enterprise are a way better option.
