Ordered a Pinnacle electric bike to drop one of the cars as a bid to go green. Surprise surprise no stock despite the web site showing stock. Went into the local branch for some pedals no stock to speak of the place looked like it was going out of business. In the end, ordered all the bits to build a bike from China and cut out the middle man for half the price twice the spec.

Beware if buying a bike from evans as they fitted my front forks the wrong way round, which could have led to a serious accident, Really don’t know what they are doing .

Always had good service and advice from Reading Branch. Recently I wanted to buy some cycling overshoes, size 8. No stock, to order and pick up in store I have to pay a delivery charge! So poor stocking by Evans, I have to pay extra....no way, went to another LBS and bought there. Very poor!

Ordered on-line a bike for my granddaughter's birthday 4 weeks in advance. The bike arrived and is very good. But it arrived without the front basket, brackets were affixed but no basket. I contacted the nearest branch and they did pass the message on to a relevant person. He then sent emails through that appeared to indicate a basket had been sent, a so-called 'Order Confirmation', but none arrived. This happened again. And now Evans ignore all emails. No courier name was in any email, it is possible the courier is to blame, but there is nothing in emails to say the basket was ever sent. One unhappy granddaughter ...

Poor service. Bought my mountain bike at Evans Cycles in January and took it it in for it's first service. Bike was running perfectly beforehand yet when I went to collect it was told it they had found a common manufacturers fault and that they would make a claim for and replace the part. They had to order the part which they said would be max 2 weeks. I was able to take the bike back until the part arrived but on the very next ride the bike suddenly wouldn't go into the 2 high gears. This fault only occurred after the service by them which was the "fault" they said they had discovered. The bike should have been fixed at the beginning of March but they never got the part in nor did they ever contact me. Covid restrictions then came in at the end of March so the bike was left with this new fault throughout the lockdown period. I tried contacting them when they reopened but no one answered the phone. I had to drive 30mins to the local store only to find out that they have had the part in all this time. I then had to come back on the Saturday for them to replace the part which they said would be a 2 hour job so I said I would come back the following day to collect. However, I was told not to come in until they rang me in case there had been any issues. I waited a week with no emails or phone calls from them so I had to drive in once again to speak to them. They then discovered the mechanic had put that part on someone else's bike and I was told they would fix the issue but to come back next day again. Because I then complained about the situation they took a wheel off one of their other bikes and replaced it. I took the bike out for a ride a couple of days later and discovered it now has a creaking noise on or near the head stem. Again they are not answering their phone nor replying my emails

Appalling service. Ordered a bike 11 days ago and have heard nothing since the order was confirmed. My bike doesn't even need assembly because I bought an ex-display bike that was already built. Have tried calling them to find out what's going on, but their phone support is totally suspended. Have emailed them for information and the stock message I received said it would be 15 DAYS before I can expect a reply. At this point I would like to just cancel my order but there's NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM to do so. Coronavirus is no excuse - For one thing, bike shops have been allowed to stay open throughout. And I didn't even place the order until after the first lockdown restrictions were lifted. Suffice to say, I will never order from them again.

Evans Chiswick, terrible . Ordered a bike online for my wifes birthday to be delivered to this store. Got an email notification the next morning saying bike has arrived and they will let me know shortly when to collect. Two days later nothing ,so i phoned and was told the build team missed my bike and that i can collect it by 2pm next day which was today. So get there at 16:30 today and its still not ready not even started on it. Got it eventually after waiting 35min asian guy leaves the bike with us and walkes off aaand the bike is not as the picture online. So i asked the asian chap (didnt get his name ,no badge) where is the remote lockoff as shown on the picture and he started to get annoyed with me for asking . He proceeded to tell me "well thats what you ordered and thats that, product code matches what we got and thats it,you shouldn'tlook at pictures you should read the specs!!" Specs means nothing to a leisure biker then he walked off again . In my mind if you order a car with a sunroof youd expect it to have a sunroof when you get it?Eventually i took the bike but now im stuck between a rock and a hard place as we are going away and need the bike. Eventually i found another guy Tony (was wearing his badge)that works there and he was super helpful we even bought my son a bike and a helmet off him .so thanks Tony. I still need to know why Evans Cycles has pictures that doesn't match the descriptions.

poor quaility product. Chain snapped twice within 2 weeks.Had to walk 4 miles home the first time and then arrange tranport the second time as I was 8 miles from home. The front light also failed after two outings.

After paying £50 and waiting 4 weeks plus lots of excuses to trial two bikes, I was then told I would have to pay half the cost of the bikes as a deposit. No thank you, went elsewhere and now have a fab Trek Remedy. I was also intending to buy new bikes for my daughters. Not the staff but a management and policy problem. They have lost in the region of £10,000 worth of sales and I will never go back!

Manager couldn't be bothered to deal with issue in shop. Okay if you are being a bike but poor for after sales.

Only interested in selling me a new bike. offered no help with maintenance on an old bike. Seemed to me that they wanted commission on sales rather than just fixing an old wheel. Felt like I was being given short service so he could serve the people behind who wanted a new bike. Left the shop without what I came in for, and had to find an alternate solution. Given this experience I wouldn't buy a new bike from them either

Terrible customer service, sent me the wrong product (wrong color) and insisted I will return it before sending a replacement. Needed it urgently so I had to stay with ehat I got. Won't buy there again.

I order my bike online on the 4th Aug. On the 5th Aug I had an Email to say the bike is being built. Great! By the 9th Aug according to my account info it's still being built. I called to ask what's happening and when will be shipped. it will go out tomorrow I was told. It didn't and I called to complain. The same day I received another email to say it had been shipped but unlike other orders in the past it has no tracking number. So, I have no idea where or when I will get me bike. Not even sure that it's actually been sent. I have used evans for years but I'm afraid they have gone down hill and I won't be back.

Seems like he more you pay for a bike the less they think of you! I paid Evans 3,190 for a bike and arranged to pick it up at Braehead a week later at 1pm on a Monday afternoon. I went along 1/2 hour early as I was a bit excited to be picking up a pretty decent bike but they kept me waiting 3 hours changing the brakes and fixing a puncture! It seems they didn't even look at the bike until I turned up to pick it up! The guys were all very friendly but they forgot about customer satisfaction! I thought they would be spending time setting the bike up for me instead of carrying out repairs and by the time it was ready I didn't have time to set it up and instead of feeling good about getting a new bike, I left pretty disgruntled instead

Ordered some stuff just before Xmas that entitled me to an e-voucher to use in the new year. When the item turned up they had sent the wrong colour. Wasn't too bothered as black (instead of blue) was OK and a bit of a hassle to send back, fill in exchange form etc. The e vouchers never turned up though. I chased and received an email saying I would receive them in a couple of days. They never turned up and after a couple of chasers I gave up bothering. At the end of the day it was only a tenner so a trivial sum. So trivial in fact you'd think a retailer would sort it so as not to lose a repeat customer wouldn't you?

I had a problem with front and rear hubs of a bike I purchased online from Evans . They packed in after 200-300 miles of riding. I emailed Evans numerous times. They didn't reply , they didn't want to know. I was extremely disappointed

I have been to the store a fair few times now, having purchased my bike from them a few months ago. There are never any staff around on the shop floor, and if you eventually find someone and ask for help with anything they look at you like you've fallen out the sky. Also, twice now there's been confusion whether really minor alterations to my bike have been free of charge or not.. Each staff member seems to have a different opinion and whilst I obviously don't mind paying, it's really embarrassing when you've been told something is free and then are made to feel like you're pulling a fast one. I definitely won't be returning any time soon.

Just took my Trek 6300 bike to Evans plymouth city center for silver service and replacement of chain and cassette, for a grand sum of 150 pounds. . Got bike home and noticed that it makes a crunching noise as I cycle along using the middle chainring. I have inspected the middle chainring and noticed that there is obvious wear to the teeth, quite understandable as this is the most used ring out of the three front ones.. This should have been noticed by the so called experienced service technician when replacing the chain and rear cassette and so they should have informed me of this and fitted a new middle chain ring. I have now had to source a new part so I can fit it my self and now I am without a bike for a few days. If I had continued to use my bike in the condition Evan cycles had returned it I would have caused more damage to the new fitted parts.

Booked bike in for silver service and ordered Ultegra 6800 calipers to replace my existing Tektros. Bike returned with my Tektros still on the bike and they tried to charge me for actually fitting the Ultegras. Wasnt the shops fault as the bike is sent away to the service centre so they are at fault. They even informed me the calipers would take a day to come in stock. Main reason for service was front tyre shaking on descents and no notes in regards to my concerns either. Best bet is to get your bike serviced elsewhere that dont charge you for labour they DIDNT do.
