“Useful and very easy to use. A little expensive though to get teachers details. Had first lesson yesterday and was very impressed.”

“The service was very efficient however the webpage was not intuitive. I am still not sure what to do with the tutors I didn't select. I keep getting messages. I thought I had sent them a message.”

“Overall it is a good site. I would like to see photos of each 'tutor'. Would like to see mandatory information if tutor are registered NZ teachers - a YES or a NO. Did not like that some tutors who were out of my area were 'contacting' me - only to conclude that they were not willing to come to me. Wasted my time.”

“FirstTutors provides a very good agency service to tutors. They seem to be very attractive for clients seeking tuition as there are always lots of activity on their site. This means there is a lot of referrals to tutors like me which is what an agency should be in my estimation. Their support over the years has been unwavering. Their upfront single - referral charges are not too bad compared to others- as this ensures clients are serious in their searches so no time wasting. I especially like their Subscription Data service which allows you to compare your profile activity with your peers in your field of expertise and geo- so you know what best to charge your clients. They do lack a search-for-tutees option although they do provide their Marketplace (or Current Opportunities) tool which I feel is less useful than it could be.”

“Good experience overall - reached out to four tutors, two replied, one was very apologetic but unavailable, other one was perfect (and she's brilliant having now met her). Definitely recommend - with the caveat of suggesting that you fire off a salvo of requests in parallel.”

“Very good website,quick response but teacher advertise that willing to travel to student but when contacted they refuse saying busy or to far , I think it should be mentioned at first place , the catchment area of traveling Thank you”

“We have twice used first tutors and have found a good tutor on both occasions. Our most recent search was for a languages tutor for GCSE and I did find it a little confusing having to search two sites - "tutors" and "language tutors". If these could cross reference each other that would be great.”
