“Finding a tutor was straightforward, with detailed profiles once i had entered my requirements. However info on payment and the block booking option was only in the small print T&C. Would have been good to have had a tab that explained how payment worked.....as well as the requirement not to exchange details until First Tutors had been paid for the introduction. I received an email from admin telling me that i shouldn't exchange conyacy details after i asked a prospective tutor to phone me but i couldn't see any way of contacting admin for further guidance.”

“We couldn't find a tutor where we live (away from big cities) - but have succesfully found the perfect tutor for our son thanks to First Tutors. The cost of the service was very reasonable. I found a couple of aspects about the website slightly confusing but this was greatly outweighed by the fact that we were stuck, and now our son now has the help he needs with his A level Physics.”

“Tutor first was easy to find a tutor and exchange before selecting the right one and paying the fees. the fees are not too high. Watch out the music teachers are on the higher end for pricing their services. It's rare to find someone below £40/hour ( vs small advertisement in local store), you often have to add a transport fee.”

“This site puts you in the driving seat deciding which tutor to contact, rather than relying on an agency for an introduction. It has worked well for us but sometimes it might be beneficial to actually speak to a few tutors before making a decision which I don't think you can do with this approach. The site itself is easy to navigate.”

“Professional looking site, found a tutor I wanted. Not easy to understand what exactly the instructions on how to use the site meant. I use computers daily and have a masters degree so I think I can claim to be au fait with how to understand instructions. Apart from that I was pleased to find a tutor.”

“I've always found First Tutors easy to use and helpful. Because of other tutoring commitments, I've been off-line with them for a while - just getting back now, and flexibility to do that is good. Of the various outfits I have dealt with, First Tutors has been best and I often recommend them - to parents and tutors.”

“Two features I like are the ability to have a conversation online with a potential client before either party commits, and the opportonity for clients to post feedback on tutors. On the minus side, email reminders and soliciting reviews could work more in sync with the way I relate to my clients.”
