“It is straightforward to set up a profile as a tutor. The fact that they take a one off introduction payment from tutees is preferable to filling in an diary of tutees lessons like many other sites do,”

“Hi there, I sourced a math tutor through First Tutors. Steven has transformed my sons understanding of math, having struggled throughout his whole primary/secondary schooling. “First tutors is a very good website for advertising your tutoring skills. I've received a great deal of work through them and their premium membership is excellent. In terms of functionality, it would be great if they made a few tweaks. It would be great if they could change the way that tutors I not their sessions so that they have more autonomy over it (I'd like to be able to put a half hourly rate as well as an hourly one, for example). Also, I don't think that tutees should be able to give us feedback before they meet us - at the moment they can give us feedback whenever they want and so I did once have some irate tutee give me negative feedback for taking more than an hour to reply to her after she purchased my details (a completely ridiculous thing to be allowed to do!) Overall, I'd say it's the best tutoring site on the web and I'd recommend them.”

“because First Tutors check the details and credentials of the tutors, I was confident that the tutor was experienced and safe for my child. Other students and parents can leave feedback which allowed me to judge which tutor to choose. The cost is a little higher than other sites which would have put me off if I had not left it so late to find a tutor.”

“Student initial requests on the site now too generic. Often on requesting more details from them there is no response. Whether First Tutors can track this is unclear as often a message from them indicates that I have not responded also.”
