“A very good site that is easy to use. Fantastic for connecting with potential tutees and doesn't take a percentage from tutors seeking work which is greatly appreciated and makes it one of the best sites for tutoring work. It also had a good, easy and official sign up process to ensure the legitimacy of tutors and their quality.”

“The site is relatively easy to navigate when starting to use it and ongoing use has not presented a problem. Communication with potential tutees works well, although it's not always easy to tell why someone stops communicating.”

“I wish I could put my correct postcode which would show exactly where I live. I live in Long Stratton, but when I put my postcode, it shows me to Harleston completely different place. I always have to explain to my students to avoid disappointment. But apart from that, it's a great website to attract potential students. Thanks a lot.”

“First Tutors has been an excellent site to use with just the right level of security for both teachers and prospective students without being unwieldy or awkward to use. My only criticism would be that the number of subjects one can list for teaching appears to be limited. That's a shame for teachers like me who teach a broad range of subjects. Otherwise First Tutors have been brilliant and I'm grateful for how they enabled me to teach in a safe and rewarding environment.”

“Good website - I've found several tutees through First Tutors. They don't try to make loads of money out of you with ridiculous fees and they don't take any of the money you earn from teaching, but they do enforce good standards and enable you to get in touch with local people who need tuition. Worth joining.”

“Have secured some good students through First Tutors over quite a few years and they have always answered any queries quickly and efficiently. My only possible complaint is their failure to acknowledgment of any duty of care towards the safety of their tutors regarding lone working arrangements and absolute refusal to accept this might be a problem: " If you feel nervous about how we work perhaps you would be better registering with a face to face tuition agency. We have been operating for 10 years and have over 30,000 tutors on our database, we have never encountered any serious/dangerous problems between clients and tutors. " Their CEO failed to answer or even acknowledge my query when I raised it with her. As long as that stance is fully understood, then I would recommend them to both other tutors and students as a reputable agency.”

“As an A level Maths tutor I have found this site invaluable for connecting me with potential tutees. It takes safeguarding of students very seriously which is important to me. A couple of minor glitches stop me giving it 5 stars.”

“Useful site for tutors, except that the separation of academic tuition and language tuition seems to put off GCSE and A level students and their parents. Language enquiries have been noticeably fewer since the separation. The way in which they constantly chase tutors as if they were irresponsible teenagers can be irritating, but I supposed it is justified in terms of maintaining tutee confidence. The feedback system is a good idea, but fails to take into account the time it takes to establish a relationship with long term tutees: more relevant to last minute cramming, which is the dross of tutorial work. So, all in all, probably better than anything comparable on the net.”
