Some tutors won’t want any contact

Dear Sophie, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have been disappointed with your experience. I can see that you have purchased the contact details of some tutors recently, but cannot see any correspondence from you to indicate that you have had a problem. We have a Customer Service team working from 8am - 7pm, 7 days a week to assist you with any problems you might have. I found communication from the messaging system quite difficult and delays in the response time. No contact number to call. Also found delays as not able to contact as needed

I found the web site confusing.With a phone number I could have found a tutor myself without having to pay any fees.

Introduction price is quite expensive considering at the time of payment you have not even met the Tutor.

We only ask for payment once you are happy with the discussed your tuition arrangement and are ready to go ahead. It charges too much for getting the contact details. First time I contacted a tutor and I was charged £25.00 and the tutor cancelled on me even without meeting after taking the first contact details fee and I was not even refunded that fee.

Tutors are average. Not consistent at times. Good ones are hard to find.

I can see that you have purchased the contact details of two tutors during 2018 and last purchased a tutor's contact details from the site in February 2019. We have not received any correspondence from you to indicate that you were dissatisfied with any of your tutors, so we have not been able to help you with any issues you may have had at the time. Should have better ways of filtering , also tutors should make sure that they clearly state what they are offering ( some if them say for example English for adults, but do not state that they tutor only Russian speakers). Also the website is expensive.

while there are a lot of tutors available for tutoring most of them are not very fluent in the topics one needs to be totured on and that will lead easily to more than 1hour session because they either don't remember how to do the topic anymore or poor internet conexion.

Whilst First Tutors site was relatively easy to use I found it difficult to locate a choice of local tutors. There was only 1. The others were typically 30 or more miles away even in different counties. The company were quick to take their finders fee well before the lessons were confirmed and then through no fault of her own the tutor has to go to hospital and I am now left with no tuition despite having paid the fee. I hope in the longer term it does work out but I am still waiting.

Found site easily enough and chose a tutor, long delays in between messages, didn't seem to work as smoothly as we thought. price ok. awaiting first arranged appointment with tutor

I don't feel your introduction fees are reasonable, it is unfair particularly as after introduction you may not end up with a successful establishment of a teacher.

I've found what I was looking for however I feel it was quite costly. I wanted to be able to meet my potential tutor before agreeing to tutoring so have ended up paying for two sets of details.

I had a bad experience with this website. for the price that I was charged to receive contact details the quality of tutor was to near my expectation. In fact my tutor had to refund me as he couldn't help me but I still paid £24 for his phone number?! Expensive and wrong set up for the users.

One Tutor after replying and then asking to swap details never replied to my emails again. Som it was just as well I didn't pay for her details until I heard more from her or this would have cost me about £25 for nothing.. Would you have reimbursed me if I had paid for her details but never heard from her again.. ThIs seems a bit of a scam. Another tutor I contacted and paid to swap details (and have used once so far) was not sent my details ? I look forward to your response . Thanks, John
