“Iryna is a very warm and friendly professional. Despite the limited time we had to practice, she was able to pass on a significant amount of information. She is very professional, polite and understanding. Her knowledge and simple guidelines reassured me that it was a good decision choosing her as my violin tutor. “A very pleasant signing up to First Tutors, their web page was extremely informative, and useful in helping me to choose a tutor. Once signed up I was quickly introduced to my chosen tutor and a start date for my tuition quickly followed. I can definitely recommend First Tutors for others who maybe thinking of starting a educational course.”

“When we tried to arrange a location to meet up, the location was continuously removed by the website administrator which became very frustrating. The tutor was aware of the issue and had previously contacted the site administrator about the issue, but it still has not been rectified.”

Dear Michelle, Thank you for your feedback. I'm afraid we do not permit exact meeting points via the private forum. I appreciate this seems like a strict measure, but it is put in place to avoid users bypassing thy system and meeting up prior to payment. In the request, we have a Map and distance calculator which allows you and your tutor to see the distance by road and also the approximate location of the other party. As soon as your tutor has accepted and payment has been made you can discuss specific meeting points. “We found the whole experience of finding a tutor to booking lessons quite daunting to start until we came across this website. Everything went so smoothly and we found a lot of tutors who could offer what we were looking for. I highly recommend this site to any new musicians looking for a tutor.”

“I have tried to hire several tutors through first tutors for my son Travane. I am not sure how the vetting process works before some of these tutors appear on the website for people to hire. One of them failed to turn up for her first appointment after agreeing to see my son at an agreed time and location and made him come home and wait for hours only for the tutor not to turn up, did not call to let us know she was not coming and did not have the humility to say she is sorry. One turn up for 2 sessions and then mixed the 3rd session on the grounds that he was ill and 2 days after sent a text say he got a new position and no longer able to teach my son. I wonder if these tutors are vetted on matters relating to diversity!!! I can go on to catalogue my several negative experiences but will leave just the above. I will be asking First tutors to refund my fees or enable me use the fees to hire hopefully dedicated , reliable, committed persons who are able to communicate effectively and really do what they say they do on your website”

Dear Travane, Thank you for your feedback. We see that you haven't contacted us about the problem with you recent tutor so we were unable to help. We do send email reminders about leaving feedback on your tutor so that we are alerted to any negative experiences. We did solution the problem with a tutor you had back in February by providing another tutor free of charge so please leave feedback on the tutor you are referring to now so that we can help you find another tutor free of charge. “But expensive just to outbids contact details plus the pricing is out of date So I booked the lesson and then was embarrassed to find that the you’ve was more than advertised and I didn’t have enough cash to pay the tutor Not good”

Dear Esther, Thank you for your feedback. The intro fee helps cover the cost of ID checks, reference collection, qualification verification etc. The intro fee is based on the tutor's hourly rate so if for example you can only afford 10 pounds per hour you would only pay 4.99 intro fee. Regarding the problem with what the tutor charged you this needs to be investigated. The tutor should have only charged you the advertised rate showing in the original request so I will email you now to clear this up and provide a solution.
