One tree is empty and the other one is bent. I left a review on the plant page and it doesn't even appear, which makes me think other people left a negative review but they are invisible. Not happy at all. The return/refund policy is also unfair, they send something not in line with what they advertise and they expect me to walk to the post office with these trees and then pay for the delivery? Unacceptable

Made multiple orders. Plants arrived dead, wrong plants were shipped, and/or plants were in an extremely poor and damaged condition. In many cases it appears that the damage was prior to shipping. Despite multiple emails over a period of several months and "Tickets" on their website Gardening Express has failed to even respond. And, you cannot even telephone them. They just ignore you and take your money. How they are still trading is a miracle. Pay a little more at a reputable company and save yourself from fraud!

I recently ordered some tea berry plants. They originally said that my order would take 3-5 days to ship. I thought this to be reasonable. Then they said it could take 10 days, then 20 days. I tried to cancel my order, but they did not allow this, as you have to cancel within 24 hrs. Once more, you can no longer 'chat' with them; you have to fill out a 'ticket' e-mail. So, I went to Cowell's Garden Center, in New Castle Upon Tyne, for the same order. They shipped my order and DELIVERED the NEXT DAY. They kept me abreast with my order every step of their shipping process -- including exact times of shipping/delivery, a pic of the delivery person, AND a pic of my package at its destination. Now that's service, which is everything!

I ordered 2 x Thai constellation and received 2 x monstera albo instead (like many others) We have now formed a Facebook group called gardening express uk complaints. If it wasn't quite so serious I would probably laugh, particularly at their explanation. Apparently, the plants we received are definitely thai but a new type grown by their supplier. They have longer internodal spacing and the variegation improves with light. Pahahaha my god you couldn't make it up. This company literally have no idea. We have lots of specialists who have confirmed they are in fact albo. We have even been in contact with the grower 'urban wild' as their label and plant passport were in the pot. Gardening Express have said the labels are generic and used by many companies and stated urban wild are not their supplier. Ok so that's completely illegal, nice. Urban wild have confirmed they are their ALBOS and that they do not sell thai constellation. They state they do not know Gardening Express so we assume they bought through a middle man. Maybe they gave the wrong info but the fact that Gardening Express aren't budging is infuriating. They must know the truth by now. They are standing firm on them being correct even though we have literally proved otherwise. Then, they finally agreed a return for a full refund however based on reviews a lot of us won't be returning because we don't trust we will get our money back at all. Absolute farce of a company. ETA I didn't return so no refund but it won't let me edit below

I purchased a Monstera Thai Constellation but received a Monstera Albo (a cheaper plant). They then made up a false definition of what the plant was so they could pretend they didn't make a mistake! SCAM AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have given GE 1 star but it’s not even worth that DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY!! They have ruined my Xmas by sending me a Xmas tree with branches missing and after 1 hr in my home drooping so much that the ornaments are falling off. I complained and sent pictures but they do a tag team thing where one says they didn’t get the pics and the other says “sorry your not happy”...but too bad basically. Then they send you another message saying “oh we haven’t heard back from you so we are presuming your happy and closing the case” my next move is trading standards! Who owns this company I’d like to know because they should be exposed for the swindler that they are!

Scam Company! If you buy ‚Monstera Thai Constelation’ you’ll get a poor Monstera Albo Variegata, worth not even half of the price! Gardening Express are not willing to refund and more, they know that the plant is an Albo and still selling as Thai Constelation! Scam, Scam, Scam! Avoid at all cost

Ordered some plants as a present for my daughter in law. They were delivered to the wrong address by Hermes (ok not Gardening Express fault) Could not get to speak to "a human" at Hermes so left a live chat message. Still no response 3 days later. Also left live chat message with Gardening express and still no response. It wasn't a large order but I had intended doing quite a big order for Christmas presents. Luckily I hadn't got round to it. Fortunately the plants were redirected, but it was an elderly couple who received them and they had to to ask someone to re deliver them. Certainly won't use this company again

OMG - why did I not look at the reviews first! I ordered two small Xmas trees on 29/11. They stated can take up to 10 working days. 10 working days arrives - no trees. So I contact them by their limited webchat service to cancel my order as it will now arrive too late. They say they won’t give refunds if orders are in picking status.. the order has been at picking status for 5 days! (Basically a scam to ensure no customer can cancel orders when frustrated at the long wait for their order). They have no idea when it will be delivered but still won’t give a refund. Absolutely appalling customer service. How is this company still in business - how??

Advertising a product as a Monstera Thai Constellation, when in fact it's a Monstera Albo (a much cheaper plant), they are still claiming I have received the correct product when I haven't...

I ordered some plants in August and, despite several emails assuring me that the order is on its way, nothing has been received and we're now in December. The value of the order was only £27 and it's tempting to write it off and move on, but I've decided to start County Court proceedings. Companies as bad as this need to be driven out of business.

Plants were dying on arrival, having waited many, many weeks. This company cannot cope with the demand and will not reply to enquiries or requests for refunds. I would not recommend this company.

My order from garden express failed to show up. Finally managed to get through to yodal the delivery company via twitter who told me an issue had arisen, they had informed garden express and I needed to contact them about the matter. I did again via twitter and to my shock they proceeded to send me personal details for another shopper asking if this was my order despite me sending order numbers and screen shots of order! To send me another shoppers home address phone number and email address is appalling and potentially illegal. This company needs to be shut down let alone review online ! Avoid at all cost !!

Do not trust this company. They claim to have a 5 year guarantee but when I emailed with a problem I was constantly fobbed off. After exchanging a number of emails, my last was ignored and I was sent their standard email claiming not to have heard from me and that they were closing my enquiry down. I have now given up, as I was no doubt intended to do. Also, they expect customers to return unsatisfactory items at their own expense and inconvenience. I would never recommend this company.

Avoid at all cost, if I could give zero I would. I placed a large order in April due to lock down it finally arrived in June. The boxes looked as if they had been used to play football with. In the order were to geums one was very poor and the other one had no foliage what so ever. I sent photographs immediately, I received a reply giving me a ticket stating my complaint had gone to the relevant department, this ticket disappeared with no solution. Like a fool I placed another order in July, in this order I received 10 echinacea bare root cuttings these were all rotten and I have never received 10 hemerocallis. I have repeatedly emailed with my complaint, with replies of my complaint has yet again been sent to the relevant department, up to date I have had no refund, replacement or explanation. If I had read reviews before I placed an order I would never have dealt with this company. I don't know how a company can operate in this way and not be penalised. It is now nearly 6 months since my first complaint and no result.

Very disappointed, the picture looked like a small bushy tree which could go outside with lights, a 12 inch table top one arrived, maybe in 5 years will grow. Be warned the pots are big and used in height measurements, also not the blue spruce I ordered, I know colour changes maybe in 10 years it will. The local supermarkets are a better bet, save your money. Customer care poor, sent photos no response
