“GatheredHere offers a digital will-writing platform that prioritizes simplicity, though sometimes at the expense of necessary detail. This review is based on firsthand experience using the service in New South Wales, Australia. Key Features: - Digital will creation platform - Step-by-step guided process - Document storage - Updates to will as needed User Experience: The platform provides a straightforward interface that simplifies will creation, perhaps oversimplifying in crucial areas. While the basic process takes about 30 minutes, users may find themselves wanting more detailed guidance in several areas. Areas Needing Improvement: Guardianship Instructions: The guardianship section lacks depth in capturing specific wishes and conditions. Users might benefit from more detailed options about guardianship arrangements, including backup guardians and specific care instructions. Asset Distribution: The platform could better handle specific gift allocations. Users need clearer guidance on how to properly document the distribution of particular items to specific beneficiaries, beyond basic asset division. Registration and Execution: Critical information about will registration in NSW is insufficient. The platform should provide more detailed guidance about: - Steps for proper will registration - Requirements for execution - State-specific legal requirements - Documentation needed for executors Document Comprehensiveness: While the generated will meets basic legal requirements, users may question whether additional clauses or specifications are needed for their situation. More context about what's included and why would build confidence. While GatheredHere succeeds in making will creation accessible, its simplicity can be a double-edged sword. The platform would benefit from offering more detailed guidance in key areas like guardianship, specific bequests, and state-specific registration requirements, particularly for users with families spread across different jurisdictions.”
