I am having absolutely the worst experience with this company! I feel like they've abducted my bank account and that they have the right to just take money from it whenever they want! I feel trapped with this company and powerless to do anything about it. I was hit by another driver on my driver's side rear door while on a roundabout lane closest to the exit I was going to take. Both my lane and the lane the other car came from could be used to exit the roundabout but somehow the other driver decided to come to my lane and hit me, causing my car to spin in the middle of the roundabout and when it stopped it was facing the opposite direction. I took pictures and sent them to Bell. Since then, I had so many calls with them and I had to explain to several different people EVERYTHING over and over again, even though everything was already written in their file! Every time I'd spend an hour on the phone explaining all the details again, just because they couldn't be bothered to read the file. This incident happend when my policy renewal date was almost due and of course they took the chance to increase my premium my nearly 200 pounds! They had just opened the claim and they were nowhere near having a conclusion. It has been 6 weeks already and they sent me another e-mail today, asking for the same information I already gave them so many times!! This just makes me think they are nowhere close to resolving this. When I complained about the raise in premium, they said they had to quote me as having had an accident AT FAULT just because I have an open claim!!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I was hit by someone else a couple of weeks before my renewal and now I have to pay as if it was my fault, just because they are still investigating (or so they say)!! They just charged me directly through direct debit and there was nothing I could do! This is just disrespectful and unfair! They should have to wait until they have a conclusion before they can raise my premium and charge me for that. They don't even have a maximum amount of time they are required to resolve the claim, so they are not even worried! The money is already IN THEIR POCKETS! I also asked if I could get another quote, to which they responded that they couldn't change my policy premium since a claim was open. Well this is just a LIE because when I was unfortunate enough to get a speeding ticket shortly after, they were very happy to raise my premium AGAIN (retroactively!!) and inform me they were going to charge me through direct debit again! When it suits them, they can change the premium and charge me directly even if a claim is open and the renewal premium was already paid for and if it doesn't suit them, they just say they can't change the premium because there is an open claim. I feel TRAPPED in a situation I can't do anything about, despite my many phone calls with them and I feel lied to and robbed, as they say and do whatever they see fit and just take my money. I am seriouly considering paying more to switch to another insurance company just so that I don't have to deal with them anymore!

My daughter took out a policy with the black box fitted. They failed to inform that this plugs into the 12volt port that already houses her dash cam. She wanted to cancel her policy. It was then we discovered they had her by the sort and curlys. She has to pay £10 for a double socket or to be charged £75 to return it and cancel. For youngests avoid this company . Having a dash cam is more peace of mind in my book.

I cannot fully Express how disappointed l am with this company l am annoyed angry and feel abused and neglected yet l pay for the service. I made a complaint via email the reply l got was rude insulting and unreasonable. I was told l was to tell them 1 of my Drivers l added on my insurance policy who had gotten a speeding ticket. How the hell can l predict that in future she would get a speeding ticket l am not a god how does 1 predict a speeding ticket. Very annoying Assumptions are very bad. If you are having a bad day please do not respond to customers without thinking clearly having facts. I am not stupid l am a human being with capacity and a brain. Taking advantage of the service users is what l have picked up from this company. If you complain they never ring you to explain or resolve anything. Very useless You are mistreated for paying them a service. Unfortunately l have been too busy to organise myself and get a different insurance company if anyone knows please assist.

If I could have left negative stars I would have. I am now £82.36 less well off because I decided to cancel my policy. £49.50 to cancel, then a further further £30-something for the amount of "days in cover" whatever that means...I already paid £80 at the beginning of the month! They end your call with "have a nice rest of your day" in a cheery voice - probably because they just shafted you of your money for cancelling the policy. I hope they reply to this, but they won't - because they are too busy taking money from other unsuspecting people. Yours sincerely, A very unhappy customer.

Have been with bell for 5 years and never had an issue with them until I bought a new car mid way through my 12 month contract. Rang bell to change the vehicle over and they wanted to charge me over £50 extra per month for the new car which I wasn’t happy about granted the car is a 19 plate but I’m 26 years of age and have 5+ years no claims and I found quotes elsewhere of only £10 more than I was originally paying per month. I wasn’t happy with the increase in price so asked them if they could meet me in the middle slightly or match the quote I’d found elsewhere they would not budge on price at all. So now they have lost a customer of 5 years as I have had no choice but to cancel my policy or be charged a ridiculous amount. To make matters worse they have charged me a cancellation fee of £56 which they have debited from my account twice and even though I have cancelled my policy they have continued to take my usual monthly payment as well. I rang them today to dispute this and to get a refund of nearly £100 to be told oh it needs to be looked into and I need to have a word with accounts I’ll call you back in 5-10 mins, 6hours later still no call back I will trying them again tomorrow not happy at all!!

I informed Bell that I would not be renewing car insurance policy 2 months ago. Noticed pending charges from Bell 2 days ago and spoke to them. Reassured the charge would not be taken, but today they have taken £654.98 from my account. Spoke to them, and advised money would be refunded in 5-7 working days. I am now over my limit on my credit card so will incur penalties through no fault of my own. Would not recommend this insurance company.

Charged £20 for a call to cancel my insurance Absolutely outraged being charged £20 when I was being 'resold' my insurance to me. Firstly, being on the 'safe driver policy' I was under the impression that I was getting a good car insurance deal for years and this year I get the renewal quote for £940, pathetic! The lady I spoke to had a very good manner and was able to reduce my insurance by £250 and was very happy to speak with her. But that is not increasing a single star. I was on the phone to her for just over 7 minutes, including holding time and was charged £20 for the delight of being on hold. I'm guessing that they have to reclaim their money lost from customers somehow. Strongly do not advise insuring with this company

I have to say, that I have a huge driving experience, drive from France to Norway, from Norway to Russia and back to France, Spain, Ukraine and so on. During all this time, never happened, what happened recently. Namely, since about one month ago I insure my care at The Bell, got by post Plug and Drive unit, plugged it on and after couple of weeks got a call from The Bell witch proposition of Breakdown cover and as I use a car only for shopping and some times to go to the sea when it's hot weather, I sad 'no' I don't need it. Then happened most interesting 08/07/2018, in London was very hot nearly 40 degrees, I decided to go to Hove to swim in sea and every thing was perfect till the moment, when I decided to go home - the car is DIDN'T START, a lot of the people try to help my pushing, charging the battery... no the first time in my live car refuse to start! I call to breakdown service and even when driver from the service try to start he say it's nonsense, starter is working, car have to start. Then at home trying to understood where is a fault, so many times I try to start, that my battery was low and decided to charge battery, removing and charging at home, the next day evening to plug back and voila car is working. I connected Plug and Drive near OBD2 port, I not affirm that Plug and Drive item damaged system of my car, but if The Bell have such cases, theyhaveto take actions.

I had a very upsetting experience with Bell after an accident, in which another driver crashed into me from behind. It was a major accident, from which I was very shaken up. Bell’s customer service was appalling and rude. I was struggling to speak up after the trauma of the accident, and the person on the other end did not have the patience to record everything I tried to say about the incident. I was not able to give the full account, nor was I offered a courtesy car.

At every turn they tried to add charges. I had to call and question them before they were removed. The onus is on the customer to keep an eye on incorrect charges. I would strenuously urge people not to use them.

I purchased Bell car insurance in Apr 2017. Buying experience was good. I was told to connect the telematics device to my car so that they monitor my driving and if it is good then I would potentially get some money back/cash back/discount from what I paid them. Fast forward 3 odd months and after receiving many gold standard driving accolades from Bell, I received a letter in Aug 2017 saying two things: (1) Based on my driving, they estimate that I will be doing double the miles than I had estimated at the start of purchasing insurance so I have to pay XXX amount to them which they will deduct from my account directly by certain date. 2) Since my driving was good I was eligible to get moneyback/cashback/discount of YY amount of money. That YY will be adjusted against the XXX I owe them. I asked them what if I don't do the miles they have estimated and remain at around the amount I had estimated. I was promised that I will get the full money or part money back. Fast forward to end of year, I had done less than the miles that I had estimated so I am eligible for getting the entire XXX that Bell had taken from me. For everyone I spoke with , it seems logical but not to Bell. Bell are saying they will give me only (XXX-YY) as I never paid them YY. I said yes, I did not pay YY because that was something I earned and you had adjusted against XXX. But the staff don't seem to get it. Staff gave me following example: You go to supermarket, buy goods worth GBP200 and the supermarket is very happy and gives you discount of GBP30. If you return all the goods then you get GBP170 back or GBP200. But I tried to explain to him that your example is not comparing apples to apples. I told him that lets say(again in a hurry as the staff was super busy), supermarket announce to me for being a good & loyal customer we will give you GBP30 for being a good customer. I go to supermarket buy goods worth GBP200, supermarket says since we are giving you GBP30 as a good will gesture, you pay only GBP170. Now for some reason if I return everything I purchased i.e. GBP 200 worth of goods then supermarket must pay me GBP200 or GBP30? Staff tell me that it will be GBP170 and not GBP30 as I never paid GBP30. I am telling them that GBP30 was something I earned as a good and loyal customer but no. Not sure if the staff dont understand or they are acting dumb!

Avoid getting a black box, they gave me bronzes each time. With no feedback on how I could improve, god knows what I was doing wrong. All I received was just a generic "tip" for road users... would not reccomend, I would of assumed more feedback from them.

I will make a very long story as short as I can, My daughter was insured with bell and was parked up stationary when another bell insurance customer reversed into her There was a minor dint in the bonnet, it wasn't worth claiming untill the lady tried switching the blame To my daughter, so we decided to claim and was assured by the bell advisor that it would not affect us in any way, 2 years later my daughter is still paying an extra premium as she s classed as having a " none fault" claim, bad service
