It is so difficult to get in touch with this company on the telephone, waited at least 20 minutes the first time and have to give up subsequent times as it is an expensive number to call each time. If you try and email then they will respond within 2 days! Also the website does not work when you need a re advice of password, never sends you the link, therefore you cannot log in to your driver dashboard so you have no idea of your driving score.

Black box keeps making me low scored for usage, I have to be able to use my car 24/7 and I have two young children, one of which goes to school, every time I pick him up it's marks me a low score. Although my over all score is 8.5, it is slowly going down!

Carrot is quite a good insurance company, only downfall I would say is the customer service is quite bad when I rang about my policy I got through to a woman who seemed very childish, while she was on the phone to me she was talking to other employees and laughing on. Not very proffessional if you ask me but I would suggest that be their only downfall.

every time I try to contact been put on hold for over 30 minuets every time, app wont accept my customer number, cant see how my mileage is or how my driving is. this is Important for a new driver like my self

Bad customer service, threatened to cancel my insurance multiple times because my black box fitting kept getting postponed as the engineer had to 'attend an emergency' three times in a row. Wouldn't recommend.

I call up and i am waiting at least 20-30 minutes EVERY TIME, and they still don't answer- everything is just so long with them- rubbish customer service- only with you because you have cheap insurance.

First of all I have been with Carrot nearly a year with a black box, when my miles were running low I wanted to top up, they said it would cost £450 for the remaining 5 months. No problem. I called back 2 days later with the idea to top up and they said it would be £675. No chance. They wanted to charge more than £200 extra for calling 2 days later. So it was now cheaper to cancel and re-insure with them, despite the fact I still had to pay a £150 fee to cancel and start with the same company. So a month later I am still waiting for someone to return my call about my new insurance. The communication is poor, the feedback is poor.

Terrible Terrible experience. Many times, i was driving fine and nicely and my scores had gone below 0. One time I decided to drive at 30 on a 20 road because I was getting late to university as it would have taken me 40 minutes to get to uni and my lecture was starting in half an hour, they decided to cancel my insurance. Didn't even listen to reasoning. On top of that, my black box was playing up all the time. I always stayed within speed limit and I was driving back home this one time at 12 am and I got -9 for it. Very terrible experience. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

It always takes over 30mins to get through to someone when I call their customer service line. It's horrific!! Most of the time I end up hanging up before someone even answers. I shouldn't have to wait sooo long for someone to answer. It's the worst service I've ever experienced.

System crashed after 6 weeks so could no longer access dashboard contacted carrot October they were looking into it as it was a problem from their end they told me, subsequently after too many emails to found & threatening to write to IT director they said would look into it asap & let me know .... u guessed it not heard outcome ( think need to send the letter now) policy taken 8/8 & not had reward money yet or know how much is due which should have been paid 8-11. But please don't let my poor report influence your choice.

After the third appointment taking two days off work, the black box guy decided to turn up, on one of the previous appointments they tried to say they had turned up and we were not at home, fortunately I noted and logged all the stressful phone calls I had made, this confirmed he was wrong and did not turn up at all. Also have done two identical journeys on the black box, 1st said a score of ten, second identical trip time driving and speed, score 3

Still haven't had access to my driving dashboard as there is a technical error which still hasn't been solved. And when trying to fix the issue their systems were down. Not a good expereince so far

Had no problem with them the first year but when they offered me a renewal quote, I transferred it to another car since I had bought a new one. They offered me £1800 on one day, I called back a few days later and they said the quote is £2500. You also spend more time on hold than you do actually talking to someone.

from getting my box fitted almost all of my scores were between 9-10 in total so when it was time for my reward to come through, a lot of these scores for usage dropped dramatically without making any changes to my driving patterns, and since the first reward came through this has been more of the same, I've have had to complain about scores numerous times and always get the same response that its been sent to it and someone will be one the phone within the next few days to come and look at the black box, as there have been numerous times that it will still record the car as being driven even when i'm at work and the car is parked with the ignition off. upon speaking with someone from carrot about one of my recent speed scores he had pointed out that a speed of 26mph was recorded in a 20mph zone but this should not of caused my speed score to be -9. if there is any more persistent faults I would like to be followed up with the phone call that is being promised and eventually have someone come and check my box. other than it taking 30-40 minutes to speak to carrot on the phone the reward system works really well and I like being able to check my scores all the time. the feature in the app that shows where your car is parked also is very helpful

Not very happy at the moment! Keep getting letters from carrot saying I need my ibox installed or they will cancel my policy in the next 7 days! My box has already been installed! It isn't my fault they never ring me back to sort anything out ! Not happy!

The customer service at carrot is shocking. I have been asked to ring and top up my miles which i am quite happy to pay for and they have given me 7 days to do it before they can cancel my policy. No word of a lie, i have called everyday since Monday and there has been no answer every single time and i end up staying on the phone for about half an hour until i get bored. Looks like my policy will be getting cancelled due to lack of staff that cannot pick up a phone. Would defiantly not recommend this company to anyone.

BEEN TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH FOR TWO DAYS AND CANT GET THROUGH. DAUGHTER HAS BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND WE CANT GET THROUGH TO GET THE CHANGE DONE ON THE INSURANCE. BOX ALWAYS GOING WRONG. HAD HER DRIVING FOR 72 HRS FOR A 6 MIN JOURNEY. A COMPLETE JOKE.

Why should I have to wait for like 20mins before someone picks up? Can't deal with that so definitely won't be continuing with Carrots solely because of that. It needs to be sorted out!

Best thing about it is it gives me up to date scores for the majority of my journey by the end of the day. However my usage score will randomly go down dispite not exceeding any limits (curfew, number of journeys, milage or time) reducing my overall score which in turn reduces my overall reward. Must be a con!! It takes over 20 minutes to reach customer service, and that's if you get through on a day they are actully open. Only went with this company as it was the cheapest on the market at the time.
