The only reason they get an extra star because it is really good for value but that is about it. Customer service takes ridiculously long to get through to. So many petty rules and undisclosed information. Its a case of the cheap price definitely affects the quality of support provided.

It was easy to get on the insurance but because it requires the black box fitting this took ages! Then when I was about to secure a place I then get told my insurance will be cancelled. I come on holiday for 2 months and as soon as I get here your asking me to provide my drivers license even though when the man came for the black box fitting, he said don't worry about sending it in because he will do it. Instead of calling you up to chat about it, they will just threaten you by saying we are cancelling your insurance. You then send these documents off and you don't get any confirmation email no matter how many times you say have you got my details now?! Stupid

I insured my daughter in Dec 15 ,2015, constantly says she's out driving even though the car was parked outside , as for the carrot card !! Still waiting, sent emails still no reply

The only good thing about this insurance company is the rewards card and it's a good way to check driving. However this company has disappointed me massively because the scores do not make sense. For example I done a 6 minute journey in the afternoon and the usage was so low and then I done a 2 hour journey on the motorway and my usage was average. I am also getting very low scores for my speed, even though I am sticking to the speed limit. This could be very damaging because if it happens frequently, drivers could risk their licence being taken away from them. Also customer service is terrible and you have to wait ages on the phone to speak to somebody. Do not get this insurance, it is a fix in my opinion.. I will not be getting insurance from this company ever again.

I was told my black box fitting would be a PM appointment on the 3rd of June, which was my deadline day which I think it's quite odd in itself, they should have extended the deadline as there could have been a problem. And there was. I was then contacted the day before my appointment to tell me it would be an AM appointment, so the hours extra I'd worked throughout the week to get home in time for my appointment was all pointless, so I was now stuck unknowing what to do.. So I contacted the company and asked how we could get around this, and they asked whether they could do it at work which would have been perfect, though I work somewhere with an MK postcode, which is a different engineer who could only come on the 9th of June, surprise.. That's after my deadline day, which isn't my fault. So in the end I have to book a half day off at work to stay home for the AM appointment, only for the guy to tell me he can't fit it because my alloys are not standard, despite the fact that the size and profile are in the manual as an option for the Fiat, this isn't entirely their fault as I could have changed them, but as they were in the manual I thought they'd be okay. So he leaves me saying I'll get a call tomorrow, and I'm completely in the unknown with where my policy stands, as it's the deadline and I don't have the telesmatics box fit, I'm guessing Im uninsured? But I don't know because I wasnt contacted by the company. So I ring up myself.. I explain my problem to the women, and she sends me to another member of the department, where I was put on hold until the offices closed, so I couldn't speak to anyone. Today has now come and there offices are closed and I haven't received a phone call, as the man said I would. So I still don't know where I stand on valid insurance. Not happy with this company at all.

Well the installer cancelled my appointment and didn't contact me, i had to call and reschedule myself. I finally got my black box fitted and received an email the following Tuesday to say my policy would be cancelled as I didn't have my black box fitted. I then spent 20mins on hold to customer services to be told not to worry they don't know why it was sent. The next day to my surprise I had a welcome email and thanking me for choosing Carrot.

Carrot organised to have a box fitted into my car and all good it was fitted but...10 days after I got a call and a letter saying carrot was going to cancel my policy due to box not being fitted! COMMUNICATION SKILLS BAD. Also the usage on the driving score is bad even though I put down high miles. I tried calling through I was waiting on hold for 1 and a half hours then the woman cut off the phone! Not happy

Phone services are abit slow and it would be nice to have a live chat on the website also an option instead of ringing up all the time but other than that its a grate

The wait time to speak to customers services was disgraceful, I tried to contact them to increase the mileage allowance on my 20 year old son's policy after to waiting on hold for more than 45 minutes I had to terminate the call because I need to attend an appointment. It's just not acceptable to have to wait for what was more than 45 minutes with out even manage to speak to them. Not looking forward in trying to speak to them after I finish work as I expect the wait will be even longer

Overpriced, and terrible customer service. like many of their customers i am in my first year of driving and chose carrot because ultimately it was the cheapest. But as in life you get what you pay for and carrot is certainly not a company you want to be with. Everything they do to 'help' is when it is convenient for them. The breakdown service is an absolute joke.... waited till 2 am on a busy motorway when i broke down at 10pm... the was told that the service is to one location per breakdown. so i had to PAY for extra transport for my car to get to a garage when it opened... how was i supposed to get my car to a garage at 2am ??? do not go with carrot no mater how much driving experience you have !!!!!

Carrot is a great insurance company. Really like the cash rewards for safe driving; although i would prefer for the reward or amount to be taken off the insurance premiums, or monthly payments. Nevertheless, carrot insurance is great and the app is very useful and handy.

My daughter just passed and carrot where the cheapest but have had emails texts and letters saying her insurance will be cancelled even when we sent everything they asked for

Competitive quote, hence they got the business. However, customer service very poor. I Was sent threatening e-mails saying if I didn't send in certain documents by a specified date my policy would be cancelled!! I always complied promptly, but never received any replies. I can only assume all was in order and my insurance has not been cancelled as implied....

Pricewise Carrot is a great insurance provider for young motorists. However, their customer service is horrendous!! We insured my son through Carrot and he had his telematics box fitted. The app was downloaded and all seemed well...then his average scores of 9.2 started to go down...even when the car was sat on the drive at home!! As well as duplicate journey readings and phantom journeys!! We've rang Carrot 4 times now and recorded the calls..every time we have been PROMISED a call back from the IT team. Guess what...NO CALLBACKS at all and his box is still giving false readings!! I will be ringing and recording my next call today! The results will be posted on here for you to see....

They turned up late to fit my box and the bloke said my rear lights were modified and went anyway after not fitting it. I was therefore threatened with emails several times that my policy would be cancelled but after ringing them for several hours trying to get through, I was eventually told my lights weren't modified! So they came back a week after and installed it. Wasted an awful lot of hours of my life waiting and trying to contact them. Not satisfied.

I've had insurance with this company for 4 months and my score is slowly going down every single day due to the time I work at and leave the gym, that's the only driving I do and I'm losing out on money that is in no way my fault.

Good customer service but 'usage' is a joke. I get different scores each day, even if at the same time as the day before, and it seems to constantly bring my score down. It states usage is for the time of day but it's inconsistent with what score you get. Also, I always drive in rush hour and the score goes down most of the time then. Would be better if 'usgae' was better explained and more consistent

Overpriced and horrible customer service. Charged me £400 extra when I moved to my new house less than 5 miles down the road, then tried to charge me an £150 'admin fee' when I bought my new car. They don't care about retaining their customers and their call agents are monotonous and unsympathetic. Have now left for a policy that was nearly £1000 cheaper annually.
