Anyone insuring with this Company needs their brain checking. Sold my bike & like a compliant sucker, told Devitt. They are trying to charge me £55 just to cancel when the policy was only double that. If you are thinking of using Devitt - DON'T! They are a bunch of cowboys!!

Be aware that Devitt as a broker can and will charge "industry standard" cancellation fees. In my case the Ombudsman has advised that it is acceptable for them to charge £50 to cancel a £73 policy into which I had already paid £53. The total charge currently being demanded is £79 ...more than the cost of the original policy. Legally they can do this it seems, so perhaps it would be wiser to go direct to your insurer of choice and cut out the middle man

Watch out for the small print!!! I cancelled a policy that was 3 months old that I had paid up front for. I sold the bike and cancelled the policy (will you would as its the law). And they charged me an extra £25 to cancel the policy. No refund of the 9 months left just an extra £25 to pay. Do not go anywhere near this company.

Absolutely appalling service! They have never removed an incident in my file that I was never involved, they never paid a penny and apparently is taking them ages to remove! Which cause that I have to pay 10 times more for a new policy with a new insurance!! I have been talking with everyone in the company for hours and we do not get anywhere. Incredible useless customer service, underwriter and whoever was involve in my case!

absolutely the worst....my son had his bike insurance with this sad excuse of a company had his bike stolen so cancelled his insurance they then enter my account illegally and stole £269.50 from my account (am not the policy holder..dont deal with them...

This will blow your head off - I’m an existing customer with devitt for several years & have had a good claim free history & I’m a sad 58 yrs old! My renewal came up & suprise suprise I get a letter saying they can’t get me cover so basically get lost! Following me wasting much time devitt basically confirm they were wrong & they quote me a whopping £700 when my last yrs of history has been £365-430, are they serious! apparently yes. So again I get on the web & see a nice quote from BMW motoraad for £379, lovelee jublee, then I see the contact number is devitt!! So I ring em & ask why I can secure a quote £320 less then they can & they are a broker & by the way my cheaper quote is through them from another comparison site. The lovely lady said apparently they can’t cross sell or something that I didn’t understand. Anyway I’ve paid em & it’s sorted, how weird is that??!! Still don’t get it, but £320 in my bin is more then welcome. Oh Devitt sort yourself out & do your job, simples...........

I was with A Quote insurance who were really good however they advised that all their customers were moving over to Devitt. I got a letter from Devitt advising of this and that nothing had changed however after calling them for something else I found out my excess had gone from £200 with A Quote to £700 with Devitt! There was no reason or explanation for this very sneaky and underhand alteration and it was not very open and honest! Luckily I found out before I need to make a claim so I am I the process of changing insurers. Also just prior to this I went on line for some quotes, Devitt were charging me £700+ for an insurance policy where others were charging £200! I queried this and why they were charging me £700+ when others were charging £200 for the same benefits etc (in fact a lot less excess) and they couldn't give me an answer other than to say they could do a better deal and reduce it from £700+ to £500. This is still more than double the other insurance quotes and lets be frank if they could do it for £500 in the first place why were they quoting me £700+ as a supposedly valuable existing customer!

Everything went fine when I signed up for a motorcycle insurance. I signed up via a comparison website and one of the questions was if I had any NCD for any motor vehicle, I did, on a car. So I signed up for a cost of £184.81 (not the cheapest btw, but I thought they would be good because of the rating). They contacted (Donna and Jemma) me stating that my NCD was for a car and not for a motorcycle, I sent a screenshot of the form print stating motor vehicle. They didn't care as according to them the question is correctly formulated, and wanted an additional £132.29. I consider this highly excessive considering a subsequent search for insurance with 0 NCD resulted in only an excess of £41.95 with the same insurer (Not to mention that they're still not the cheapest). They then unilaterally cancelled my insurance.

i have tried to get in touch on a few occasions to add bike to policy put on hold for up to 30 minutes twice they must not want business

just been on hold for three and a half hours, after I'd found they had auto renewed a policy without asking me. for a vehicle long gone. I'd call it theft. upshot after cancellation fee no refund. with a bargepole do not touch

I have been on the phone trying to change bikes for over an hour and I am still on hold this discussing how long I have been trying for I have bought the bike but can't ride home because not insured

Insurance was moved automatically by the broker. My husband didn't check the renewal quote. It was only after the payments started that I noticed the massive payment taken. The policy price had quadrupled. When we called to cancel, we couldn't get through. Hung up after 45mins on hold. The next call we requested a call back which took 2 & half hours. We were charged £113.83 to cancel. This isn't owed policy as we paid in advance. It was just cancellation costs! The explanation was unintelligible & the email to explain the charge said nothing about the charge, just proof of no claims. We will never use them again.

They didnt respond to my NCB emailed to them and cancelled my policy. Spent hours and hours on the call but couldn't speak to anyone. Already dreading the phone charges for all these calls. Absolute rubbish service. AVOID these pricks!!!

Partly my fault. I took our insurance and then went away for a month. No computer. I came back towards end of July to find Devitt would be canceling my insurance because of not having received verification of my no claim bonus. Now the fault of Devitt: They answer the phone, but when put on 'hold' they do not inform the paying customer of how long one has to wait / how much it is going to cost. I tried, and gave up. The second time it went from blurb to music...on and on. I sent Devitt (via Post Office Money) by First Class evidence of my no claims bonus. A week BEFORE cut off point for the insurance. I am, apparently, without any insurance. During that last week I got two letters, both the same, and both telling me of the implications. So I have declared SORN. Avoid DEVITT and anything to do with Post Office Money.

poor service been trying to ring them ask for call back was told from TOM that he will get someone to call me ASAP and still not spoke to anyone but i bet you will still cancel my insurance and charge me for it jokers

Took out insurance and set up payment date for 28th then they try taking money out on the 21st the point blank refuse to change the date it comes out. Very rude customer service. Avoid at all costs they do not care about their customers!!

Very poor, when I took the policy out I asked for auto renewal not to take place. At renewal I had an email saying they were going to auto renew. I spoke to them on the phone telling them not to auto renew which they said they would make sure did not happen. Guess what, they still tried to auto renew the policy. Not to be trusted.
