Rubbish Service. BVS loss adjusters their appointed representatives are crooks. Go straight to the Ombudsman if they dispute your claim.

Very poor with claim handling they have a 3 rd party called BVS who handle claims and all they do is cut costs and you struggle to get your claim sorted like for like instead they try and offer you a small cash settlement that does not cover the costs

All good. Spoke with Claire to deal with my claims. She was helpful and explaining everything. Claim put in Friday afternoon. All sorted by Monday. Would recommend Halifax Home Insurance.

I WAS MIS-SOLD THE POLICY ADDING AN CLAUSE ON JEWELLERY THAT IT IS ONLY COVERED IN THE HOUSE. WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE WEAR JEWELLERY AND CANNOT WEAR OUT OF HOUSE. JUST LIKE BUYING AN CAR BUT NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE ON ROAD.

This was the worst insurance company I have ever used, their loss adjuster Paul Cooper made me feel like a criminal and was very avassive, dodging issues that had occurred took 9 months to resolve my claim, Paul Cooper. Shambles the whole of this company

Don't waste your time with Halifax Home Insurance. My insurance renewal has just come through and after my first year the price has increased by an unbelievable £148.33!! I have not made any claims or changes to my policy and no explanation was given for the increase. Called the company but this was a complete waste of time. So much for loyalty - A TOTAL RIP OFF!!

Excellent from start to finish for contents insurance. Had to make two claims, one for a damaged hob and one for a stolen bike. Both handled professionally and speedily. Customer service a delight. Genuingly surprised at how good my experience has been.

Cost us £17 in phone calls, so say we didn't want to claim for our car having a slight dent to one wing. Kept getting passed from pillar to post because your premium rate staff with attitude don't know what they are doing, or play dumb to make money on your RIP off phone line. At least make it a standard rate number to make up for your substandard staff.

Halifax try to make you feel guilty making a claim and knowing a client claiming having cancer have staff who try and use that as a weakness to exploit. Quite unbelievable. I had to hang up as my life is limited now and don’t want to be taken advantage of so they can pressure you to say something they can use to say no to your claim. What’s the world come to that they can be truly unethical.

Do not waste your money insuring with Halifax Insurance. For a start is very expensive; costs £339 a year for contents insurance for a purpose built 3 bed flat flat. I decided to pay it for peace of mind to insure with a large company. However, after many years, I needed to make a claim, because of a water leak in the bedroom, from the flat above. They were very cagey about exactly what they would pay and asked for £150 Excess PLUS an additional Excess fee £250 for water escape. At this time they didn't say if they would cover the whole cost of the items damaged by water or just a part cost towards them. They were very cagey through out the process and wanted to have my proof in place before letting me know the outcome. I had full evidence of the incident, plus third party admitting liability, so it should have been a smooth and pleasant process. However, the experience of making a claim was upsetting as the insurer skillfully disclosed that policy is worthless and covered by small clauses to protect them. I thought I was purchasing peace of mind when I bought this contents insurance but I came off the phone thinking I was well ripped off and there is nothing I could do about it. So angry I want to warn people NOT to buy insurance from Halifax as its crafted to minimise the obligation they have to the customer.

Nice cheap cost, but you get cheap service. I should have realized when my policy documents and schedule arrived, they were just photo copies, went to make a claim and the staff go from being great to others being very bad. I will be going back to my old company at renewal, it's not worth the hassle from Halifax for the sake of a few pounds. AVOID USING HALIFAX

Avoid, avoid. Extremely expensive and the way that they treat claimants is shocking. Their basic insurance is shockingly expensive but heaven help you if you have to make any kind of claim. They really make it as difficult as possible and when you are successful their tradesmen are the worst in the business. Avoid

I needed a more economical quote as my own premium was going to be increased drastically despite not claiming so I shopped around. The Halifax offered a much better deal so I opted for their policy. I have yet to begin the policy but so far organising it and navigating their different levels of cover on the website was very easy and hassle-free.

My parents in law are in their 90s and infirm. This year the Halifax House & Contents renewal was for £579.08, an increase of £96.52 or 20%. I deal with their financial matters as my wife has Lasting Power of Attorney to help protect them from being ripped off. They had been with the Halifax for years and were in tears as they had no idea where they could get this money from. I did a comparison and found Halifax was one of the cheapest at around £108! I called them and they were lost for words to justify this. Why penalise them for loyalty? You do the math. The CEO I contacted doesn't talk to customers!!

After insuring with them when I sold my vehicle I asked for a quote for my new car and they bumped the price far in excess of £200 more than other quotes I had, also wanted to charge me an extra fee for adjusting the policy and when I decided to cancel they inform me that they only return 9 years NCB when they accepted 11 years protected to take the policy on and charged me an exorbitant £55 administration fee for pressing a cancel button!!! AVOID at all costs

After using Halifax for my home contense insurance and specifically listing my expensive mountain bike it proved pointless. My bike was locked up outside my property for moments before being stolen.. halifax refused to pay out as the place it was lock was not a permanent fixture. Oh and apparently being 10 feet away with your back turned for a second counts as being left unattended. Typical case of find "get out loop holes" poor customer service .. take your money but no intentions to actually cover you in the unfortunate event of a theft.. pointless heart sinking robbing company.. DONT BE CONNED INTO ADDING SPECIFIC ITEMS TO YOUR POLICY
