I think the service was good. However I did not receive my insurance certificate until I called back over an hour later.

The scoring system is very accurate and reasonable, however, the acceleration score is always at 0 and never improving no matter how smoothly i accelerate, consequently it brings my overall score down. Also a cerfew is understandable yet 10 is difficult to meet, 11 would be more appropriate.

It is ok, as it was quick to mark down every hard breaking, but was not as quick to put the rating back up if you were driving well.

Website easy to use. Needed insurance quickly so picked Hastings as prices competitive. Didn't like the fact that you had to agree to your driving being monitored through a "black box" no way out of this unfortunately. Seems a bit intrusive and somewhat " big brother is watching you".

Customer service has been brilliant so far, no issues there. Pricing and box installation both good. Only issue is the sensitivity of the box (previous box I had green for acceleration and breaking but not with SmartMiles) and how drastically the time of day category affects overall score when sometimes driving past 10pm is necessary.

I do not think they go through the benefits and drawbacks of the system sufficiently. In the event I cancelled because it was not right for me. I have yet to receive my refund.

Communication could have been better when setting up the policy. Along with having information stated a little more clearly, such as dates and deadlines

The reason for the rate was as the day I was having the smart box fitted I received an email stating that my policy was being terminated this caused stress and confusion to me and panicked me as it was well within the time frame stated

The price is brilliant but the app is awful. It keeps crashing every time you try to look at anything. It is poor form to be unable to keep track of your performance on the black box.

The website didn't recognised my username I had to connect via a email. I downloaded the app for my iPad but this was the same. The app appears to be very "amateurish" and in need of a serious update.

Service was great smart miles arrived and is working but giving me low scores for driving between 10pm and 5am unfortunately I am a hgv driver I start at 4am and have to drive 16 miles to work so what can I do also I'm 54 not a young driver it's bizarre

I'm sorry, this product is not suitable for those who need to drive frequently in those times as one of the core features is we keep you away from the most risk-heavy times. This in turn give you a great reduction in the renewal price if adhered to. SmartMiles is very useful for young drivers but is not exclusive just to let you know ~Joe?

Positives: price! As a new driver, I got a little C2 which was perfect but insurance was a nightmare - if it wasn't for Smart Miles I would've been looking at over ?2,500 which I could not afford. After a year it had halved which was pretty good but I decided not to reinsure due to moving to a city - so price was good (I paid yearly) Negatives: They charge ?90 to remove the black box. Know a mechanic? They hide it behind the dashboard so it's a reasonably big job for someone with no experience removing them. At least they don't want you to send it back. Also, I didn't want to reinsure and yet they still took the money, I rang and explained and they said they'll refund it and cancel the new policy. This was 16th May, I won't get my money back until 7th June. Also, if your score goes down it is pretty impossible to build it back up. When I first got my car for the first month only I drove at night to pick up my boyfriend from work. For the rest of the year it was maybe 3 times I went out at night driving, my time of day score was 10/100. The rest are the same, which is a problem if you are not 100% confident when you first start using your car! All in all, it was a cheaper insurance policy with little other choices, but there are definite areas they could improve on.
