My smart meter mysteriously started going near the danger zone when my insurance was up also my braking is never recorded and got a very rude experience from their staff who could care

Generally a bit slow and though i changed one item on the renewal before the renewal date, as i had already paid they charged me a ?25 admin fee on top of the ?64 adjustment! I have emailed to ask why but I'm not hopeful!

Black box barely recorded my driving. Said I was driving with ignition off etc. Acceleration was put down to 20 for no reason.

Online system could be better change my address 3 times and after it get change my renewal was registered to my old address after phoning to say they had the wrong address got a rude woman on the phone who said I have not change my address after tell her I phone and done it online and then she told me that as my address is worng I wouldn't be insured if I put a claim in as it is a different address I was living at and that I couldn't change my address as i was due to renew so not help from her at all

For the most part it was accurate in terms of acceleration, legal speeds but breaking was not working at all. all year round my breaking score was 0 since day 1 till 365. No matter how you drove long or short distances breaking was not measured properly which always reduced your total score. But as long as it stays within 40/100 you are safe from any issues. For beginers its alright but for anyone with adult life is pointless due to 10pm cut of curfew. (reduces the score insignificantly btw)

Hi there, I can understand your frustrations regarding?the time of day score. Many of?our policy holders are young, inexperienced drivers and with over 40% of accidents?between 10pm and 5am as an insurance company we need to know they are safe and not (potentially) going to be out between these hours. This however does impact our more experienced drivers. - Jamie

They should explain that the smartmiles doesnt reset with the renewal of the policy. Also, they should explain better that you need to drive loads to allow for more accurate scores

The app was really useful for telling me how good my driving was, but i would've liked to know how i could improve for each drive itself, for example where in particular did i show speeding in my journey

1 send me a review when I had seen some readings online as I do a small mileage and have not reached 60 and been able to use facility 2 explain what device on floor in car is and how it should sit

1. They initially sent me an email detailing that the renewal premium would be automatically collected from my bank. 2. I then received an email detailing that they had not been able to do this and I had to call them to pay the premium, which I did on the same day. 3. I later received a further email detailing that I had not paid and I had to call them again. When I call them they advised that the email had been sent in error. On reflection, 3 stars is over-generous!

Only negative is regarding the smartmiles app/blackbox, the scoring system for braking is very difficult to maintain a high score without having to brake like a 60+ year old. This simply is not feasible on the roads as it will lead to build up of traffic. I myself brake with plenty of time but still receive lower than average scores for braking. Have spoken to others who have policy's with smart miles and have similar experiences with their black box. Otherwise i have not had any issues and my renewal of policy automatically is a good feature and has lowered each year. Have not had to use the breakdown cover yet. Have spoke to customer services on a few occasions and agents were polite and efficient.

I think the smart miles service is average, I have had 3 black boxes from the company within a year due to them malfunctioning and not sending information, it also takes the company months to tell me it has malfunctioned meaning I?m not sending information. I have also emailed countless times about my information to put into my app for the smart miles box but never received anything back. I do believe they are a helpful thing to get as a new driver as they help you with your speeding, breaking, and times that are best for you to be home or out. It also helps to make your insurance significantly cheaper if you have been a good enough driver within the year before your insurance renewal. So I would recommend smart miles even though I have experience a few problems.

The scoring system is very accurate and reasonable, however, the acceleration score is always at 0 and never improving no matter how smoothly i accelerate, consequently it brings my overall score down. Also a cerfew is understandable yet 10 is difficult to meet, 11 would be more appropriate.

After renewing my policy two weeks ago and asking for it to be sent by post in paper form I have recieved nothing!!! No paper form documents nothing by e mail nothing. Zilch. Am Ieven insured? Not very professional.Disappinted to say the leastp

Positives: price! As a new driver, I got a little C2 which was perfect but insurance was a nightmare - if it wasn't for Smart Miles I would've been looking at over ?2,500 which I could not afford. After a year it had halved which was pretty good but I decided not to reinsure due to moving to a city - so price was good (I paid yearly) Negatives: They charge ?90 to remove the black box. Know a mechanic? They hide it behind the dashboard so it's a reasonably big job for someone with no experience removing them. At least they don't want you to send it back. Also, I didn't want to reinsure and yet they still took the money, I rang and explained and they said they'll refund it and cancel the new policy. This was 16th May, I won't get my money back until 7th June. Also, if your score goes down it is pretty impossible to build it back up. When I first got my car for the first month only I drove at night to pick up my boyfriend from work. For the rest of the year it was maybe 3 times I went out at night driving, my time of day score was 10/100. The rest are the same, which is a problem if you are not 100% confident when you first start using your car! All in all, it was a cheaper insurance policy with little other choices, but there are definite areas they could improve on.

Customer service is fab. The dashboard is okay. But I can never improve my score. I feel like because my car is older it gets a worse score due to having to accelerate more to get power.
