They should explain that the smartmiles doesnt reset with the renewal of the policy. Also, they should explain better that you need to drive loads to allow for more accurate scores

The service was excellent . Last year it was very easy to add my granddaughters to the insurance for part of the year and i know i will be able to do it again this year. It was very nice to speak to someone who knew exactly what i was asking.

Been with Hastings 3 years in a row and never had to change insurers as theyve always had a better renewal price than other providers after checking comparison websites. Good service and no issues

Back in May i notified Hastings of a very small incident in my car, whereby my car and another slightly clashed wing mirrors. I didn't make any claim and neither has the other party as we never took any details from each other. When it came round to receiving my email regarding my renewal this month, my premium had shot up and my no claims bonus had been taken away from me. I was given no prior warning or explanation as to why this was, just left me to find out for myself. I was told that for 6 months after the 'notification' they have to leave the channel open for a claim and therefore I now have to pay ?30 a month for my insurance because of this and I have no choice to go with another company because I don't have my no claims so it's quite clever how they do it really. I sincerely hope my premium will go back down when they find the people don't claim because they have absolutely no details and there was no damage done for a claim. Also just to add that when I was sent my renewal last year, I renewed after seeing how good the price was, only to receive an email a few months back to tell me i'd actually been paying more and they had only just noticed the mistake. I might add as well that I was told the 'notification' may still affect my premium despite a claim not being made and I find this shocking as the first person I spoke to on the phone said I had one of the best driving ratings he has seen in a very long time.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to see that you have been given conflicting information regarding notifying of the 'incident' that you had back in may. Unfortunately it is your duty to inform your insurer of any misdemeanours that may occur. If the other driver had gone home and decided to make a claim against you, we would potentially only have his version of events. This does get wiped from your policy after 6 months but I completely understand how frustrating this must be for you. Its great to see you have a high driving behaviour score though.~ Jamie

I rate Hastings direct highly.If you are a young driver who drives safely, you will be rewarded with much lower premiums in your second year.

braking 100% night driving100% speed 70% acceleration 0% this in a 10 year old car which is a very small diesel driven by a 75 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET REAL HASTINGS SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG.

Sort out your data protection. I am not the person this was addressed to. I am not Amanda Choi. Also, surely it is illegal to try to take payment before the renewal date, especially as I was not renewing. Also, stop warning me about not authorising the payment even though I had cancelled.

Absolutely amazing insurance company. Not once have they pester me about my driving skills. I?ve got insurance with them again would recommend them to any new drivers

Feel it is a very useful service. would highlight that i feel the breaking scores need to take into account area people drive in as in a busy high street use of breaking is higher than in countryside.

They couldn't answer a simple question without repeat calls failed to ring back as promised failed to do what they said when they said they would and then charged more than the original quote. The only positive was it still worked out a bit cheaper than everyone else. You need to get a grip and start providing proper high quality customer service! LP

I thought having a black box for my daughter as a first time driver was a great idea .She travelled well knowing that she was monitored and she is now after a year a very sensible driver . She also scored very well on your points system and had a massive discount on her second year insurance. we are very happy with the service you provided many thanks Lee Sulley
