There were huge issues with a server which prevented me from completing my insurance with them. I paid and was sent an email to complete the registration of my account - it didn't work due to the server issue. I used their online chat which advised me that I would not be covered. I waited for a few days and tried again and again and again but to no avail. I ended up having to purchase elsewhere because when I tried to complete a new quote, the premium had increased by £30 and the excess by £100. I suspect that this computer error has cost them a huge amount of business.

Tried to phone MCE for a second motorbike quote, or to change to a multi bike policy. Couldn't get any replies on the phone and the website does not recognize my bt email address although I do receive regular emails from MCE for advertising and updates. Queries not answered in the 72 hours promised. Ended up insuring to the best of my knowledge, through a comparison website.....

Can't access my documents, when I log in it keps saying they are not ready. Very difficult to even find out when my policy is up for renewal, searching my emails for my bike reg doesn't even show anything from MCE. Very frustrating as having to phone up (any insurance company to be fair at the moment, not just MCE) is a complete nightmare.

I had a renewal quote as I have been with MCN fir a few years. The lady on the phone had a voice of someone who just doesn’t want to do this job. She spoke so fast as if she wanted to finish the 10 min conversation in 1 minute. She took the payment of £380 (not a small amount) and once she took the details just quickly said bye and hang up. I had to call back in half an hour again as I never god the email confirmation, than I was advised that they have technical issue so the email will be sent soon. An hour later I got a phonecall from MCN that the payment hasn’t gone through (same voice who didn’t seem to be happy to do this job). So once again we “rushed” through the card details and finished this conversation with a quick “thanks , bye”. Next year probably I will avoide MCN.

Very difficult to speak to someone. I’m a new customer again after a lengthy painful process that should have been a no fuss renewal. I wanted to put 2 other bikes on too but that’s too much like hard work. Took 4 attempts to pay. On a positive not it seems good value for money.

Price was acceptable so I stayed with them for another year, however the operator I spoke to sounded really bored and didn`t want to be there. He was obviously reading the script about T&C`s from the screen and was speaking so fast his words were almost slurring into each other, as a result he was barely understandable. I asked him to slow down so I could understand what he was saying which he did for only a few seconds and then went back to his fast gabbling talk. It was so bad I considered hanging up and re-dialling so I might get another operator. I`m not hard of hearing but if you were the phone call would have been impossible. I just got the impression he didn`t have any interest in his job or customer relations, it was all too much bother. Over the last few years previous operators have always been fine but if you were a first time customer it would definitely put you off. Sorry MCE but that`s how it was, not happy with the customer service.

By far the cheapest price, so I renewed again, so far. 5*. However trying to log into the portal is an absolute nightmare! Whoever decided to use a scrolling calendar instead of simple drop menus to verify your age should be sacked, it's absolutely the worst log-in on the internet, I had to log in to check my quote before renewal, so I renewed through Go Compare instead, it was so much less hassle. After renewal, I was supposed to log in again to check my documentation, but I haven't done that yet as I'm waiting for a wet evening when I can give up a half hour just to verify my age!! You lost 3 stars from my review simply on this issue and if it's the same next year, you will lose my custom, no matter how cheap the quote! I'm 51 years old, I had to scroll back 618 months ffs!!!

All I wanted to do was agree to the the renewal quote they sent me and even something as simple as this is stressful with them. Should be able to click accept, tick no change of details and pay .Not a chance .

I was sent my renewal from MCE as I am an existing customer, I checked on a comparison site and got the same cover etc from MCE at 50 pounds cheaper. why can an existing customer not be given these deals without having to search a comparison site. Had there been a quote 10 pounds more expensive than MCE I would have taken that out of principle. " look after your loyal Customers"

Impossible to get hold of. My license is at DVLA and MCE are asking for a photo. Tried ringing, email and online, no joy.

Forced to use the MCE App on my phone to upload documents which doesn't seem to work so I'm just left watching circles go round while getting emails that my contract will be canceled if the images don't get uploaded. The App support team apparently doesn't work weekends which makes things even harder to fix.

The price is good, but to be valid you need to upload all your documents to their app. The app is so glitchy and certain parts don't work on android phones, so unless you have an old iPhone laying around to do half of uploads on that, you're in trouble. It would not be so bad if the uploads were not mandatory and they threatened to cancel your policy unless you manage to use their glitchy app. They also don't pick up the phone when you try to call their technical helpline.
