“"We insured with the co-op and when the car was damaged by a third party paid a deposit of \u00a3350 when we reported the accident even though our insurance was fully comprehensive. The other party accepted full liability in the middle of August. We have not had our 'deposit' returned as of today, 19th October. The repair was unsatisfactory which we reported in full over the phone and despite promising that this would be fixed we have heard nothing further. The car was in the repair shop for more than two weeks and although a replacement car was included in our cover, none was provided. We will NEVER insure with Co-op insurance again. Although we have requested the refund of our deposit over the phone and in writing we have still not been repaid and have heard nothing from our insurers.\r\n\r\nNB. I have had to review 'food' to submit this review even though it is not applicable!"”
“One of the worse insurance company, they cancelled the insurance with no reason and they didn't informed me , they have to send me letter, email or text but nothing, they don't care what they are doing”
“Awful company ! The worse I've ever had to deal with. My story is far too long and it's still on going but they want the rest of the policy money even tho I'm with another company. Don't go near them if you want to keep your sanity. They r very unprofessional, rude condesending horrible people who constantly lie. Please stay away”
“AVOID AVOID AVOID, the COOP insurance company use an outside loss adjuster that actively seeks to deny genuine claims, even if you are lucky enough to have them allow your claim, the outside loss adjuster ( Buildng validation solutions ) they appointed a particularly difficult man ( Mick Dilworth) to my claim, they then undervalue the claim drastically in order to pay out less than the true value of the claim I have been fighting with these people for three years now, and my claim has still not been met properly, COOP INSURANCE IS NOT COOP ANY MORE, IT HAS BEEN SOLD TO ANOTHER COMPANY THAT DO NOT WANT TO PAY CLAIMS, AVOID AVOID AVOID”
“Phoned up on Wednesday to cancel my renewal because it was too expensive and found cheaper elsewhere ( don't we all do that every year?) but I was totally ignored and they renewed it anyway, disgusting service.”
“"The call centre operative should not be doing his job. I made a car claim and he suddenly said he was household and not motor. He then told me my car would have to be written off for a potentially a small claim and when I had a moan he just cut me off. I fully understand about policy about older cars but this man was of no help at all.\r\n\r\nThese incredibly difficult times have seen staff like this stretched but every organisation I have dealt with have been so helpful and pleasant as well.\r\n\r\n"”
“We have been with the co-op insurance…
We have been with the co-op insurance for many years, we have currently a car insurance, and a camper van which we purchased last year. The insurance ran out on the 16th Aug, but we had not received a renewal notice. I called today to renew, and was told as the policy had lapsed I had to start the process as if it was a new policy, I queried why when they had all our details . Also I stated that we had never received the documents so not really our fault. After going through all the normal questions which took over half an hour , only to be told that they would no longer insure us. I asked to be put through to a manager as the chap could not give me an explanation as to why they would no longer honor the quote. I would imagine I was on the phone for well over half an hour, when he eventually came back to me, he still couldn't
give me a reason as to why they are now refusing to offer us insurance, and that a manager would could me back within 24 - 48 hours, which is not acceptable as this would leave my van un insured. I doubt very much the renewal notice was ever sent out as they do not want our business, shame on the co-op their good name has gone down the pan, I will not use them again, and when my car insurance is due for renewal I will go elsewhere.”
“Until 2020 they were good. They've changed underwriters now and are awful. Renewal letter 1 was +60% increase. Renewal letter 2 was 18% lower than letter 1 (guess they're haemorrhaging customers). Called to "see what they can do" and it was +158% of the previous year (no change in policy except INCREASING excess). These guys can't do customer service, but worryingly it seems they can't even do basic math either”
“I guarantee you won’t find a worse insurance policy. They force you to have a black box, which they then make you pay £90 to have it removed. Also it punishes you EXTREMELY harshly; the price of your policy is constantly increased and it includes a curfew. There lenience is pathetic, I started working night shifts during my time and they refused to make a change to my policy and just continued to lower my score and increasing the price of my policy. There customer service is horrendous, it’s like talking to a brick wall. They may as well be scammers. They don’t care about your safety or well being. Their goal is money and that’s all they consider.”
“absolutely waste of space. They wrote my car off and when I wanted to negotiate the price to market value they sent my query without informing me to theier so called complaint department. They even gave me less than the price book for identical car. Avoid at any cost”
“This has to be the worst insurance company i have ever dealt with. My wife spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to pay the renewal and amend certain details. The person she spoke to went to talk to his boss twice and never came back!,
We got a quote from Esure and saved money for the same amount of cover. I have to say that we had a similar bad experience dealing with the Co-operative Bank a few weeks ago. Will not use any Co-operative company again.”
“Terrible company stay away and Use another company.
Taken 3yrs to sort out my claim and still not sorted. They have left the house in a state and will not finish the works as they say the work they've done is up to standard. I have a crack in the centre of my wall the staircase is a mess and even after an independent structural surveyor recommend the works to be redone they have argued it. I'm now in process of going to the Ombudsman and taking them to court for the costs and to complete the works. So if you don't want to wreck your house and spend your own money putting it right then stay away.
I would give minus stars if I could.”
“Shocking customer care - ridicule you when asking for details of how to claim. . Three weeks down the line and still waiting for copy of ‘small print’ they are referring to when saying “like for like” is not ‘same as what you had’ actually means the cheapest same spec they can find. Please call and ask them what like for like means as it is not what the normal person would interpret it as. Asus £500 laptop, co-op ‘like for like’ is £300 and not Asus. 4 weeks down the line and still not reimbursed and this is at a time for home schooling when we need the laptop. Circa 5 day turn around for email response. Hard copy documents only? In 2021? Quick enough to take the money for their premium insurance yet it’s been far from premium. I am purposely sharing to let people know how poor I feel their service is. Advised excess for personal claim was £300, it was actually £50...seemed a little misleading. If cyclical one could assume that was not an accident that they provided that misleading info to put me off making the claim - but perhaps it was a genuine accident by an ill informed employee?”
“Worst company that i ever have to deal with... I am still waiting for my refund after they took a payment mistakenly. It's been a month now. Im glad i never had to make a claim with them.”
“Absolutiy disgusted. After being with the ccop since 1985 either with my own policy or a named driver on my husband's policy. I have never had a driving conviction. One small claim in 35 years I rang yesterday for a new quote and was refused absolutely disgusting. Glad to take my business elsewhere. Marlene Fox”
“If I could put negative stars on this post I would. DO NOT use them they are a rip off. I placed a claim after a vehicle accident which wrote off my car just to be told that my insurance was void because even though the V5 had been changed to state a colour change had been done to the car I had not informed them when I took out the policy( mid July during the first lockdown) then went to customer relations to deal to be told the same rubbish by a company yes man. So no going to financial ombudsman for mediation. Don't use them they are diabolical.”
