Have never shopped here before but was in the market for walking boots. Go into store, try on several styles and sizes (eg spent a good deal of time doing so) found a comfy pair marked with LARGE writing 'special offer, £40 until stock runs out' or similar. Great, take those and also go and buy 2 walking sticks. All should have come to £50 but at checkout am told its £100 unless I have THE DISCOUNT card and would I care to buy one for £5. Not really! .........this is very sharp practise and I said, NO-where does it say I need a card to get these prices, looking around the store. Oh, it says on the sale ticket (so small I'd need my specs). Well thank you very much but this wide of the mark and not on I replied and I left my would be purchases on the check out and left empty handed. Will not return. Beware.

I am disgusted !!! Everyone needs to Never buy from Go Outdoors again for practising exceedingly sharp business practice and ripping people off ... Just before Christmas 2019 I was doing my Christmas shopping (like most of us) and did some online for some fishing and camping gear. Go Outdoors showed up with some good online prices and the gear was in stock at Basingstoke, so if I drove there from Guildford and picked up the goods, I could have them in time for Christmas presents. Great ! So I order online and drive there and the goods are ready, so I pay for them and drive back to Guildford and wrap up my presents. I don’t know what made me check my online price against my store receipt but my spider sense must have been tingling, so I did and found that instead of paying the click and collect price on my email, the store had massively over charged me. Click and collect price was £82.55 Store charged me £112.94 A difference of £30.39 So I thought, oh there must be some kind of mistake and I hung onto the receipt and called them today when I had the first chance since Christmas to tell them of the mistake and presumably get an apology and the difference refunded to my card ... But oh no ... What I got instead was: The price quoted was the “discount card price” and (after several minutes of back and forth comments) “it is in our terms and conditions”. Now at no point in the ordering process does it state : The web prices quoted on your click and collect order email will only be honoured if you pay us £5 to sign up for an annual discount card, otherwise your prices will increase by 36.8% to the RRP value of these items. It didn’t state that when browsing the website It didn’t state that when placing the order It didn’t state that when asking a human in the store, for my click and collect goods Said human didn’t explain or confirm these conditions The human on the help line today explained where this had been stated and how I had agreed to it by letting me know that I had ticked a check box during the online checkout process that stated that I agreed with their terms and conditions (which never came up in front of me). So, they sucker you into their store with “good value” online prices, and then when the cashier asks “would you like to sign up to our discount card?” But doesn’t explain that if you don’t, he will just rip you off by 36% and then just does rip you off without telling you. So, I think that is bloody disgusting and trading standards should investigate them for sharp practice and not making it clear and present at each stage (or even one stage) of the ordering to paying process as this is a blatant attempt to rip people off , which succeeded in my case. I don’t operate my business in this way as I would consider it dishonest. After these comments were fed back to the guy on the helpline, the helpful corporate desk jockey response was : “It’s in our terms and conditions which you agreed to online” There was no concern or apology or good will gesture and they intend to keep doing this as long as they can get away with it. I think that’s disgusting and if you do too, please don’t buy any more stuff from them and share this comment as far and wide as you can to teach bad companies like this that screwing your customers will come back and bite you in the butt !

Do not go by the ticket price as when you get to the till it increases unless you buy a discount card for £5 If it wasn't such a pain to get back to Taunton I would take it back

Oex x-lite carbon walking poles. Bought a set (2) walking poles and unfortunately I lost one of the clamp nuts. When I tried to obtain a spare this could not be provided unless there was one ‘ laying around’. Wouldn’t it have been nice if someone had used there initiative and sent me one! No spares service as with other suppliers. Now I have one pole I cannot use. Great poles rubbish customer service

I bought a winter coat about a month ago from the Swindon outlet. Today the zipper broke. One of the teeth simply came off leaving me trapped in my own coat until finally I managed to pull the zipper down enough for me to step out of it. Go Outdoors is a waste of time and money. Don't bother with this. The quality is poor and in all honesty I regretted buying this coat from the moment I stepped out of the store. I was right. I should have left it where it was and go shopping somewhere else. It was my first purchase from Go Outdoors and it certainly going to be my last one. Disappointing.

Worst website ever you can't buy the wellies you want without driving to Stoke or Liverpool to pick them up. No delivery to home option and when you go into your local store there are about 5 options but 30 on the website. Who are they kidding? Absolute joke buy from somewhere who can supply the product you actually want!!!! I would have given no stars but thats not an option either, surprise surprise!.

Staff in the Norwich store were great when I visited today, however, the changing rooms are appalling, curtains to the cubicles don't pull accross fully & don't go to the floor. Anyone in the store can see you trying things on.

Do not take any notice of the web site. Called in store to collect walking boots, they did not have the size required, despite the web site claiming that they are in stock. So pull your fingers out Go Outdoors and sort website out.

If you have a bargepole don't touch Go Outdoors with it. They take your money and only tell you they've cancelled your order due to no stock when you contact them to ask where it is and it still says 'processing' on your account. They lamely say their on-line stock may take a few minutes to update but this was an order I placed over 5 days ago and their website is still showing stock available and would still allow me to re-order it. Absolutely woeful - don't waste your time ordering from them - find another supplier.

Dreadful, ordered a LARGE grilling basket, a TEENY WEENY one arrived, tried emailing, completing the online contact form, phoning, exactly the same lack of response as everyone else, finally managed to speak to someone exactly 4 weeks after placing the original order, no apology, no acknowledgement of mistake just wanting me to take it to a collect plus depot miles away. Meh!

Don’t answer emails or when u phone them they are always updating something or other !! This is just the online part of the business the shops that I use always give good service 😊 Never used to be like this until JD SPORTS took them over I think and then it seems to have gone downhill 😕

Worst customer service ever! Website doesn’t work properly so I ended up ordering and paying twice. I then received two orders and had to return on. Took 2 weeks to get a refund! Customer services don’t answer emails or calls and last week you couldn’t even call them as they were ‘too busy to take calls!’

My experience replicates that of many of the other reviewers. No communication, 3-5 day delivery is a lie, sold a tent that doesn't exist, holiday cancelled as a result, lost deposits, disappointed kids etc. I feel well and truly fleeced. I will never buy from go outdoors again!
