customer service could not be worse. It has taken many attempts to get a reply about a refund for a return that was not collected only to be told the refund can only be issued over the phone by giving card payment details again. Isn't this what all the warnings about on line cons are about? When I replied with a query about the refund method I was advised -This message has been automatically closed. So I will try again. I haven't tried chasing up the refund for the item that has now been collected. I had to rearrange & pay again for the second collection. I will never buy anything from this company again.

Received a card in post stating our local Warrington store was closing down for refurbishment so "Absolutely Everything" was at Least 30% OFF.?? So explain why when we get there to purchase certain items that we've monitored for months we find have actually increased in price in a week, and that's with your alleged 30% Off . Why fool people into spending time travelling only to find out there are No Bargains or very few to be had.

I ordered some items of clothing on the 1st of November 2023. As yet I’m still waiting for my order. I emailed them. They said delivery was 3 -15 days. As yet, nothing.

Price match refused said Alpine trek was not a uk company, glad they refused as I have purchased the same product from another retailer with a saving of £46 , so shop around before purchasing from Go Outdoors or any other retailer.

UPDATE #2...refund is problematic. They want me to schedule a call during their normal business hours. That requires me to get up at 4:30am to wait for their call before going into work. Company is NOT customer service oriented (saying that as someone who does work front line customer service). UPDATE...offered to send gift card however they do not ship overseas so would be useless as I live in USA. Asked them to ship the (very small) item and they stated they were not able to. Now offering refund...unfortunate as I was really looking forward to having that item. ORIGINAL POST: Visiting from cruise ship....known to staff when checking out. Got back on board and Intensity Glow Marker was not in bag with other items. Too late to go back to inquire. Paid for something cashier missed putting in bag.

Improperly labelled products. Then they give you the runaround. Avoid.

I heard something completely ridiculous from a member of staff today when I tried to return a tent due to pole failing on the first night of using our new vango tent.. "sorry we don't offer warranty on tent poles" needless to say this is the last tent I buy from them.

Gave a 1 but should be a 0. BEWARE IF YOU BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Their online customer service is absolutely abysmal. We purchased a Colemans Mosedale Pro 5 tent for our camping trip at the beginning of July. On our first evening after the first light shower the tent started to leak through the seams over the side door. This was caused in my mind by poor stitching which had caused a gulley in the material. This allowed the water to pool on the outside. Despite a very high waterproof rating the water started coming through quite quickly. After our return a collection was arranged on 17th July. It was subsequently stated that this was to avoid further expense in having to return to the store. I was told that once received in the warehouse a refund of £338 would be given after 14 days. After 2 weeks had elapsed, I was asked to allow some more time. Into the fourth week when I asked for an urgent update, I was given 3 choices of refund. The first 2 was either a gift card or to return to the store. The 3rd choice was a refund to a PayPal account. Not having a PayPal account, I asked for a bank transfer. The reply was that that because it was an instore transaction I would have to return to the store. I pointed out that this contradicted their earlier statement that the collection had been to avoid me having further expense. I said they were now asking me to make a round 40+ miles trip! Out of frustration I created a PayPal account and asked them to have a senior manager authorise a refund via PayPal as they had earlier suggested. The latest reply was that I now supply them with a list of details which they would pass on to the relevant person/store for a refund to be done over the phone. Most of the details I had already supplied over the course of several weeks. 4 weeks after the tent had been collected, they asked me to supply them with the receipt supplied by the courier so they could locate the tent. I pointed out that they had arranged the collection so should be aware of the delivery address. I have lost all patience with this shower of manure. No e-mail gets read properly and no questions are answered. They just have you going around in circles. We were due to camp again in September but have had to now book accommodation instead. DON'T GO OUTDOORS.........GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

Terrible communication. Been trying to return an expensive faulty item for weeks and still no luck. Out of pocket, have a useless item, their customer service reps clearly don't read the full notes every time we deal with them , so nothing happens. Very cross now and in the process of taking further.

I was asked to renew my discount card a week after having done so.I was told that " it did not register on the system". I asked for proof that this has not happened before. I am still waiting after over 2 months. This is awful service.

Not a rating low enough Purchased a tent on a Sunday paid for premium next day delivery Tuesday - emailed to chase Wed - still nothing , they told me it was with the courier and be with me soon- I made it clear I needed by 6pm Thursday Thursday- still nothing- emailed - responded with ‘please wait 3-5 more days’! Called them, item ‘missing’ we can refund it will be with you in 5 days …. No good to me. Cant even get a replacement as I won’t have the refund ! I offered to pick up from an outlet and was told it was impossible Not fair to let down people like this and quite clear the 2 x Cusyomer services people Via email checked nothing Do not rely on ultimate outdoors online - you will be disappointed !!!

Well! ordered new membership card back in April, got the usual confirmation and Evri tracking number. Looked on account GO, states despatched. No trace on Evri. Called customer services who ordered a new one. Still no trace on Evri or that a new card had been issued. Called again and was basically fobbed off stating I should wait 15 days before calling back again. Absolutely rubbish customer services and to date they have my fee and its now 2 months. I think some would call it theft.

I bought a tent from this company, they say they can price match and offer 10% off, if found elsewhere cheaper, this is incorrect! Recently I found the same tent but cheaper so I called customer service and said that I found it cheaper elsewhere, I was told to fill out forms, take pictures etc!! Why not just look yourselves? Now to save the messing around I’ve asked to return it so I can purchase elsewhere and i’ve had the membership cancelled and refunded. Total loss for Go Outdoors, I would advise anyone that finds it cheaper to either refuse delivery or return your items to Go Outdoors, that way they’ll learn how not to mess customers around, it will cost them more money in the long run.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE GO OUTDOORS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT NOT THEIR SHOP SERVICE. After deciding to visit the Lakeside store we were pleasantly surprised at the hardworking till staff on a busy Saturday. We were picking up a click and collect order of £222 (around 8 items). Excellent, polite service from a small lady with long dark hair and the busy till staff generally. We had ordered two hours previously, although it was not, understandably, ready the lady soon collected the items for us. Thankyou. HOWEVER, an item was stained when we opened it at home and rang customer service immediately. The first call was chaotic, noise in background, laughing and general distraction suggesting order numbers were wrong and a generally rude response. Never have we decided to put a phone down on someone - never! We then called again and received a more polite response suggesting we email with pictures. As yet the issue is unresolved but then we would expect a slight delay for the stained item to be assessed by quality control. Perhaps Go Outdoors should look at who they are employing in the customer service dept. Thankyou to the person who eventually helped us. Our disappointment has made us think twice about Go Outdoors.

22/01/2023 O/N 684813090 I ordered a coat and a pair of walking trousers. There was some incoherent messaging and a couple of recorded telephone messages saying there was a problem. You'd think the lazy oiks in CS would have sorted it - NOT ON YOUR NELLY! I was sent a link to their tracker - it failed to show any orders. Looking for a contact for their CEO I noticed an offer (open to all) for free postage. I took them up and re-ordered the trousers. I then checked PayPal to see if they had refunded my £9.00 against the first failed order - NOYN! If Go Outdoors care to read this, can I have my £9.00 from the first order refunded. Can you please do this after interrogating your system and without further reaction with myself. Perhaps you'd then take yourself before your CEO and apologise to him/her and myself for your lamentable performance?

Arguably the worst customer service I’ve received in 20 years After placing an order on the 27th Dec and receiving a despatch confirmation and tracking number it turned out the parcel was never given to the courier. After 5-6 emails to chase throughout Jan I had no reply and was forced to open a case with PayPal. After no response to the case I managed to speak to Customer Services and on 3 occasions throughout late Jan and Feb was promised refunds. After chasing again on Feb 6-8th I was told unless I closed the case with PayPal and said there was no issue with the retailer they would not refund the £155.25. After raising with PayPal this is a clear breach of PayPals terms and conditions and they’re now being looked into for this abuse of the Chargeback process. I can’t recommend using a smaller independent retailer more. Go Outdoors, Millets, Blacks and Ultimate Outdoors are essentially the same company with zero customer service, some clever marketing and no interest in anything other than a quick sale.
