Dear Gooutdoors, i feel someone needs to make their voice heard and unless you can show me evidence that my bike was indeed lost i will spend every day talking about my experience wherever i can and i just won't stop until a manger gets on the phone to me and does something about it. I also feel like i have a moral obligation to do something after now reading many others also have had the same issues as me My Story: Covid 19 and the lockdown has been very difficult for many people in different ways and i am sure everyone has there own story. I live alone and have not seen anyone for weeks and have found this period particularly hard. I decided two weeks ago that i would start getting fit during this time and after 20 years ordered a brand new bike from your website. I didn't cheap out and try and buy from a non reputable website (i know your company turns over about £200m a year i did my research), second hand or ebay. I just wanted to place the order with a company that I thought was reputable and wait for delivery. Here is a time line of my experience 1) Ordered on a sunday night may 10th. There website has very strange delivery dates so i waited patiently trying to understand bikes are in high demand yet at the same time there is less people working (i also work in a e-commerce distribution company as well so i can see first hand how things are)3) Around one week later when i didn't hear anything i called their landlines and found out they are not taking calls. I also reached out by email and also facebook messenger as well. Every day i would get a different message related to this delivery by sms and also by fb messenger. I asked for a refund so that i could spend this money with another company and they REFUSED. they said there system just won't allow a refund. Surely there are laws against this? I will now be looking into this4) Eventually i got a email saying my bike is being delivered and a tracking number. The next day i sat at the delivery address like a little child waiting for delivery of my new toy. I then got a sms saying your order has not been sent and that the company is working to get this out and  this delay is because of covid 19... I then asked on fb messanger why i have a tracking number if the bike has not been sent. They assured me it's on the way and i just need to wait one more day which i did5)  I waited Thursday and Friday when i could of just been earning money but i wanted this bike so much6) Today is saturday the 23rd of May, i wanted to believe a company could not be this ruthless and hoped my bike world turn up. I then wasted more time on messenger asking if this bike would arrive and they told me it's been lost. HOW CAN a bike be lost? why cant they give me another bike ? I am in complete shock at their service. I dont wish any business or brand any harm but unless they can show me evidence that it was really lost i wont stop and i will keep doing everything i can to make sure others dont go through the same experience i did. I believe they have probably lied and know how to cheat the tracking system. I would like evidence that my bike was indeed lost or i will not stop until this company gets a formal investigation.  Saying that i am upset at the way they have treated me would be an understatement

DON’T TOUCH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE DISGUSTING THEY LIE TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON’T DELIVER A MONTH GONE KNOW AND STILL HAVEN’T RECEIVED MY TENT £408 SPENT I‘M GOING LEGAL

Ordered a bike £449 on 28th June, that was showing in stock, and apparently is still in stock according to the website (been checking nearly every day). Was sent the usual messages stating sorry for the delay, no need to contact us, blah blah blah. Today (8th July), I get a message that my order is being dispatched via Hermes, and given a tracking number. Followed the tracking number to find that it has taken them 8 working days to dispatch A DISCOUNT CARD! No sign of the bike, so basically they paid a courier to deliver a discount card that has seemed to cost me £454. Like I am going to shop at this store after this experience! Emailed them (along with emailing them last week wondering what the status of my order was), waiting for response. Advice as mentioned in a lot of reviews below, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I understand times are difficult at present, but at least be honest with your customers and if the product is out of stock/unavailable, then do not take money off the customer that will struggle to get it back given nobody is answering any calls or emails. I reckon 6 months and Go Outdoors will be no more!

Ripped of like others by the almost invisible price without a discount card . This is the last time I wont return ever .

Go Outdoors automatically added a Member's card to my order when I bought a tent and took the £5 for the card. But then it cancelled the tent (gave no reason) for which it gave me a refund but didn't cancel the Member's card. I don't need anything else so that's £5 wasted. Feel I've been conned.

Took my money, kept sending messages saying they were " on it ". Bull -****, 10 days later, no reply to e mails and do not answer the phone. Really cheesed off with garbage service.

absolute dogshit service. took my order and sat on it. texting me every day saying it's in hand and don't get in touch. i don't think i'll ever get it. I have been stolen from.

Stay away! I ordered my tent along with other camping stuff a month ago. Everything arrived BUT the tent. I have gone back and forth with their customer service and nothing. My holiday is now ruined!

never received half of a £250 order. They now don't even have a phone service and just fob you off again and again on email. Looks like we've basically lost £250 and our camping holiday has been ruined.

Ordered online delivery came fishing today missing after 3 days trying get hold someone they have admitted fault and offered to refund me only if i close the open case in paypal against them, paypal have told me not to ask they only got pressure button and refund the payment, looks like they are trying not to pay me avoid this company they obviously believe that losing and theft is OK AVOID AVOID AVOID GO ELSE WHERE

We went to buy a tent , we understand fully- regards the covid situation and we were told to go in twos , even though four of us in the same car and same house , (Two daughters me and husband).Ok yes that’s fine we follow the rules. As we didn’t have loads of time we decided to go home but return later after we had discussed what we were going to buy. When we went back ,the chap on the door said , only two at a time we said yes that’s fine , then he proceeded to say ,” my manager yelled at me earlier because he said you joined up together when you came In earlier “ which we didn’t. So we said stuff it then and left , I am a nhs nurse and know all the rules . Incidentally we didn’t go near anyone else in the empty shop and we know how to keep our distance, what a jobs worth , but never mind , we will spend the £500 elsewhere, their loss

I placed an order for a £100 item in stock. I have received 5 txt messages saying "no need to contact us, we are on it" yet a week late, no item, and not a single response to three emails.

Where do I even begin. This company has hit rock bottom . I ordered a bike 3rd May , 5-7 working days ( can’t blame civic-19 as every other company is delivering fine ) on day seven I received the first ‘ we’re sorry your order is running late ‘ message . Then 2 more the next two days . Contacted customer services by email and Facebook who advised order is still processing . Received an email on day 12 stating order is on its way with DHL tracking number - checked tracking number on DHL website who said they had received package and delivery was due 14th May (next day) , checked again on due date to get a message stating ‘ we are sorry but we don’t appear to have recieved consignment from the supplier’ What the hell is going on ????!! I do not recommend this company . Definitely read all reviews before taking my word for it .

I am disgusted !!! Everyone needs to Never buy from Go Outdoors again for practising exceedingly sharp business practice and ripping people off ... Just before Christmas 2019 I was doing my Christmas shopping (like most of us) and did some online for some fishing and camping gear. Go Outdoors showed up with some good online prices and the gear was in stock at Basingstoke, so if I drove there from Guildford and picked up the goods, I could have them in time for Christmas presents. Great ! So I order online and drive there and the goods are ready, so I pay for them and drive back to Guildford and wrap up my presents. I don’t know what made me check my online price against my store receipt but my spider sense must have been tingling, so I did and found that instead of paying the click and collect price on my email, the store had massively over charged me. Click and collect price was £82.55 Store charged me £112.94 A difference of £30.39 So I thought, oh there must be some kind of mistake and I hung onto the receipt and called them today when I had the first chance since Christmas to tell them of the mistake and presumably get an apology and the difference refunded to my card ... But oh no ... What I got instead was: The price quoted was the “discount card price” and (after several minutes of back and forth comments) “it is in our terms and conditions”. Now at no point in the ordering process does it state : The web prices quoted on your click and collect order email will only be honoured if you pay us £5 to sign up for an annual discount card, otherwise your prices will increase by 36.8% to the RRP value of these items. It didn’t state that when browsing the website It didn’t state that when placing the order It didn’t state that when asking a human in the store, for my click and collect goods Said human didn’t explain or confirm these conditions The human on the help line today explained where this had been stated and how I had agreed to it by letting me know that I had ticked a check box during the online checkout process that stated that I agreed with their terms and conditions (which never came up in front of me). So, they sucker you into their store with “good value” online prices, and then when the cashier asks “would you like to sign up to our discount card?” But doesn’t explain that if you don’t, he will just rip you off by 36% and then just does rip you off without telling you. So, I think that is bloody disgusting and trading standards should investigate them for sharp practice and not making it clear and present at each stage (or even one stage) of the ordering to paying process as this is a blatant attempt to rip people off , which succeeded in my case. I don’t operate my business in this way as I would consider it dishonest. After these comments were fed back to the guy on the helpline, the helpful corporate desk jockey response was : “It’s in our terms and conditions which you agreed to online” There was no concern or apology or good will gesture and they intend to keep doing this as long as they can get away with it. I think that’s disgusting and if you do too, please don’t buy any more stuff from them and share this comment as far and wide as you can to teach bad companies like this that screwing your customers will come back and bite you in the butt !

Not a rating low enough Purchased a tent on a Sunday paid for premium next day delivery Tuesday - emailed to chase Wed - still nothing , they told me it was with the courier and be with me soon- I made it clear I needed by 6pm Thursday Thursday- still nothing- emailed - responded with ‘please wait 3-5 more days’! Called them, item ‘missing’ we can refund it will be with you in 5 days …. No good to me. Cant even get a replacement as I won’t have the refund ! I offered to pick up from an outlet and was told it was impossible Not fair to let down people like this and quite clear the 2 x Cusyomer services people Via email checked nothing Do not rely on ultimate outdoors online - you will be disappointed !!!

Arguably the worst customer service I’ve received in 20 years After placing an order on the 27th Dec and receiving a despatch confirmation and tracking number it turned out the parcel was never given to the courier. After 5-6 emails to chase throughout Jan I had no reply and was forced to open a case with PayPal. After no response to the case I managed to speak to Customer Services and on 3 occasions throughout late Jan and Feb was promised refunds. After chasing again on Feb 6-8th I was told unless I closed the case with PayPal and said there was no issue with the retailer they would not refund the £155.25. After raising with PayPal this is a clear breach of PayPals terms and conditions and they’re now being looked into for this abuse of the Chargeback process. I can’t recommend using a smaller independent retailer more. Go Outdoors, Millets, Blacks and Ultimate Outdoors are essentially the same company with zero customer service, some clever marketing and no interest in anything other than a quick sale.

Extremely poor customer service. Ordered online and wrong item arrived despite delivery note having the correct item stated. Phoned Customer Service to arrange exchange to be told I’d need to wait in for a courier to collect new item, wait for refund and then re-order. Explained this would cost us as there’s currently 15% off to be told to reorder at full price and phone Customer Service and ask for a 15% credit. Not interested in the fact it was originally their mistake. Avoid online ordering.

Dreadful service - ordered a coat - the wrong coat and wrong size came - paid fot the return - orederd it again - this time a pair if ski pants arrived instead - paid for the return .Now 3 months later still waiting for my refund on my coat - DO NOT order from this company - very very poor customer service and still my money has not been returned . Dreadful !!

I have placed my order online with standard deliver of up to 10 days. As I have not received notification that my order was dispatched, I called customer services on day 9 and was advised that order is waiting to be picked up from the warehouse. On day 11 still no update, called the customer services and was told the same. I asked how long will it take to collect the order and dispatch, they were not able to provide me with time frame. I asked if I can collect my order or change the delivery address. They said it was not possible. I had to cancel my order and now waiting to see how long it will take to refund my money. Would not recommend to place any orders online if you don't want to be disappointed with delayed delivery.
