I had a fleet policy for a van for over a year and when I rang up with what I guessed was a flat battery due to cold weather, they told me my vehicle was out of their dimensions and they could not cover me. They had already taken payment for the following year so I asked for a refund which I got. But they clearly just take your money and hope nothing happens but if it does try to get out of doing anything. I would definitely stay well clear of this company.

abysmal, called after had a puncture and wheel nuts were not coming off. Technician arrived in an hour about 2pm, wheel security nut broke so wheel not coming off, technician asked how puncture happened, I had no idea, he asked if I hit a pot hole I said no, I was in a rural area I said I had been driving normally all day apart from pulling to the side to let cars pass on smaller road. Technician rang in as recovery home was needed told them I had hit a kerb which Green Flag regard as an accident and you should claim on your insurance and they won’t cover it, I had said no such thing. Technician abandoned me 30 miles from home in a rural area, while walking miles in the rain to a train station I called them back and after an hour the call handler had managed to get consent for a 10 mile recovery, I would have to pay the extra miles to get car home, now 6pm agreed to do next day I had to get home to take medications, there were no trains, relative had to do a 60 mile round trip to get me, got home late, soaked and freezing. Next day rang 10:30 call handler read notes as agreed yesterday booked job said they would be an hour, drove 30 miles to car they rang to say it wasn’t covered and there were no notes on the system re the 10 mile recovery agreement, denied everything and said would they like me to call a recovery company for me, after remonstrating at length they just cut me off. Spoke to claims who miraculously could see the notes and rebooked the job gave up after the eta was 6 hours, checked at 3, eta still the same, the area is so busy at their eta there is no way it would be anything but late so cancelled. Car is still abandoned 30 miles away, I need it every day for work which is with vulnerable elderly people, cancelled my policy with them screw them

21 weeks pregnant with a Toddler and sick with Pneumonia broke down visiting family in Wales on my way home on the A48 as had a doctors appointment to get to as the Pneumonia had got worse. Was dropped off at a service station in Swansea as they couldn't recover me back home to Hampshire and couldn't get me a courtesy car. Partner had to travel up on a working day and pay for a hotel for us to stay in. A week later and still no car. Not my own car or a courtesy car. My only 4 days off after Christmas I have spent 2 of them wasted at home with the promise my car will be delivered. Self employed and a pregnant mother left with no car to get to work or take my son to preschool next week. Bravo Green Flag for the worst service I've ever experienced. Avoid avoid avoid!

Broke down on the M56 at 2.30pm on my way home to Anglesey. I waited for 3hrs only to be told they were taking me to a safe place where somebody else would come to do the repair and if it couldn't be repaired they would send somebody else to take me home. I'm now sat at Lymn services waiting for the potential repairer to arrive and that should be at 10.30pm. As I'm in a safe place I'm no longer a priority despite being a lone female whose now been stranded for nearly 8hrs. Absolute joke!!

Please don’t bother taking out a national coverage breakdown policy with Green Flag. It doesn’t exist. I broke down in Cornwall on my way to Northampton and they said they couldn’t do anything for the next 2 weeks leaving me stranded. What a joke. Now I want my money back. It’s a con and so are Green Flag. The one time you need them is the one time they let you down.

Don’t work with this company ever! My car broke down on the M1 and I am waiting for my car to be delivered to my garage last two days. They changed the delivery time each time I called them. Unprofessional company!

I've been waiting since 12.45 for a green flag vehicle to pickup my car and take it to a garage to get repaired. Its now 15.00 hours and I've just been updated that they may be able to pick it up at 16.45. This isn't the service I signed up for it's a joke. I will cancel my policy as soon as I'm able. After all there's no point in having a break down service that doesn't support you when you brake down. It's seems to be a futile waste of money. Greenflag state they have had to divert to other more important jobs that's understandable but unfortunate. If you offer a breakdown service the least you can do is honour it. Update; It's now 6pm and green flag have still not picked up my car, instead they keep giving me excuses. I've missed my slot at my repair garage a slot that could have been given to someone else and tomorrow is Saturday. I informed Green flag of my slot with the garage and asked them to inform so I could phone the garage and let them know if my car wasn't going to be picked up so mechanic's wouldn't be waiting around. No one from greenflag even phoned me back. You've been warned ⚠️ find another rescue company. But don't go with Greenflag

Had to call green flag today as my car wouldn’t start! Within an hour and a half, I was back on the road again. Unfortunately my car wouldn’t start again after I got home but I was told I needed a new battery by green flag, so that’s getting sorted! Can’t fault green flag many thanks

A memorial day I have a breakdown policy with greeflag and I have the paperwork to prove it as well as the receipt for payment. Yet they mumbled on the phone this policy was dealt by another number and they put me through back to the switchboard, this type of behaviour lasted 5 times! Then I was told I need to upload their app to make a call out, I did so but their system did not recognised my policy number and when it did the policy number and the dates were erroneous and belong to an old car I used to have! Finally, and must admit very quick, the engineer arrived, he was kind and knowledgeable. He found it was the 12v battery needing replacing. Despite greenflag advertising they would replace batteries no attempt to suggest they could do so. Was left with a car still in needs of mechanic because the battery needs replacing. Time wasting? Yes.

10am 21 Oct 2022. The car would start after being parked on the hospital car park for 45 mins. Rang Green Flag. Someon will with you by 11am. Apprx 10.40am local breakdown service arrived. the car needed transporting to a garage. 11am Driver(name available) said he would arrange it and the garage would ring me 15/20mins before arrival so I could go for a walk. 12.10pm I rang GF. Breakdown firm said I should have rung to arrange pickup. Lies! Pickup would be now 1pm. Pickup arrived approx. 2pm. Terrible service. A similar breakdown on 8 August 2022. Brokedown 12 noon. Much lies and inefficency. Recovered at 6pm. 95 degrees heatwave. At 83yrs I don't need it.

I broke down on way to barrow in furness. I was assigned a firm local to there. They sent a guy out... It took over 2 hours for that to happen. The guy said you need a tow truck and phoned for one. I'd already said that I'd need a tow truck. So now I've got to wait for one to come from the other side of Preston 2 hours away from my present predicament. I'm perched on a hill, on a very busy main road to barrow. Feeling stranded. Would they be like this if I were a lone female.. Very disappointed. Considering leaving this dire company

In Devon on holiday caravan park, car would not start. Attended by John from Green Flag who quickly found the problem to be the ignition key which wasn't communicating with they engine. Using spare key and Voila! Thankyou

I purchased European breakdown cover as I planned to visit different areas in EU for some business trip and pleasure. Whilst visiting south France on a short trip my car broke down on the toll road on 23rd August. It was a self diagnosed blown turbo on a BMW so little chance of having a roadside repair. The police organised recovery from toll rd to a safe garage which was great service but the rest was a total nightmare. Green flag U.K. contract out to a EU company called Opteven so you have to deal directly with them for assistance. When calling the average on hold time before answer was 40 minutes, then the assistance on the phone was vague. We were instructed to book a hotel to stay in overnight until they update us, suggesting they need to diagnose the fault. I explained my vehicle was in the middle of France miles away from Any BMW specialist so diagnosis on a major engine fault may be a challenge especially as my vehicle was dropped off at a Renault garage. So one hotel night later and after no response from optevan I called and waited again. Once I got through I said I will organise a hire car and make our way back to Calais and I would like my car repatriated back to U.K. to be diagnosed and repaired there as I had no idea how many days or weeks we would have to wait for a repair to be done in France. They agreed and after some hassle Optevan hired us a car and I covered the 150 Euro taxi to get the the hire company. I then asked if Optevan could hire a car for me from Dover so we can get back to our home address in the U.K. and they said they would work on that for us. So after me booking a hotel and again covering the cost plus paying extra for the ferry trip home, I also has to hire the car at Dover as I heard nothing from Optevan or GreenFlag U.K. I then try and claim Back the money paid and I am informed that I need to fill out forms and send to Direct lime, now dealing with three separate companies. After all this Amd many phone calls later to chase up when my vehicle will return to the U.K. so I can get it repaired it fixed ally arrived at the garage on the 11th October. Yes that’s correct, 50 days later from the day of our break down in France. Optevan seemed to think this timescale was fine. So I had to hire a car for 49 days in U.K. and GreenFlag would only cover 1 day cost to get back to my U.K. address. So although GreenFlag have a good name and I believe give great service for U.K. breakdowns, from my experience I highly recommend never ever using them for EU breakdown cover unless you have a large bank account. Pay more and get better cover with a company that cares.
