“We told them our range evoque was not to be turned over again as a specialist advised not to do so as to not damage the engine again. I explained I just want it towed to the specialist and they said they have to send a van first to listen to it!! After me telling them that cant be done as could cause further damage.
Ive been a customer for over 25 years and never needed them in all that time more than half a dozen times. All that money paid and they dont listen.

They organised a local rescue service to arrive the next morning, load the car on the truck and take us and our caravan home. “The car wouldn't start right outside our local shops. This was about half past twelve. My husband phoned Green Flag; got through straight away and spoke to a very nice gentleman, who assured him that help would arrive by ten to two. Actually a very nice chap from Highfield Garage was there well before this time. The battery was completely dead; a new one was fitted and he was on his way home well before the stated arrival time. He just wishes he had asked the chap his name..he was polite, friendly and knowledgeable, We would recommend Green Flag to anybody.

“Car broke down so rang Green Flag and a very friendly reassuring mechanic turned up half an hour later, took plenty of time to assess the problem and decided it couldn’t be fixed there and then. He then arranged for a tow truck to come and pick the car up and that arrived 45 minutes later and again a friendly, efficient driver loaded us and the car and we were home after an hours drive. Excellent service, couldn’t have had a better experience.”
“Reported a brakedown at 10am. My motorcycle wouldn't start. It would turn over but not fire up. The problem was the fuel pump sticking. I asked for recovery home. I explained all this to the call handler. Received an email stating they would be there at 1105am. Then Received an email at saying they were busy and would be there by 1330 . Then at 1214 another email saying still busy and be there at 1600. I received a telephone call at 1520 from the driver who was on route to jump my battery ( which he was told was flat) I explained I needed a recovery home and he said he couldn't do this as he had a car on the back of his trailer. I told him not to bother coming as it was NOT MY BATTERY. He turned up anyway ( obviously so he got paid for doing absolutely nothing). He took some pictures and I attempted to start the engine to prove it would turn over and show him it was not a flat battery. The engine spluttered and after a couple of attempts by me it fired up. I drove my bike home. I reported this fault at 10am and sat by the roadside until 15.20pm. Absolutely disgusting service. If you listen to the initial call from me you will here me reply to the question does the engine turn over with a yes.”

“Very disappointed with Green Flag. Very slow response time on the one occasion I needed them 3 years ago due to their small fleet and use of local contractors. Their prices have rocketed. I've just renewed with RAC for 3 rather than 2 vehicles at half the price.
I tried to cancel my subscription mid-year but was refused because I had called them for a burst tyre and then cancelled the call-out 10 minutes later as I got a local garage to help. This invalidated my ability to cancel the policy and get a refund. Just received the renewal notice which says ' though you didn't need us this year ....' Sharp practice!
Needless to say I'm not renewing ....”
“Absolutely exceptional service on Saturday evening. Rang to report a window which would not close, hence car left in-secure. The customer service operator was really friendly and after a few simple questions said a mechanic would be with us within a couple of hours. Less than 30 minutes later the mechanic turned up, he was exceptionally efficient and helpful, and fixed the issue immediately. 5* service couldn't recommend highly enough.”

Needed to cancel my auto renew £141.00 as a new quote is £95 but being passed from pillar to post 4 different phone numbers rung started at 11.45 its now 19.20. They have now asked me to ring back end of the week FFS.”

They sent a guy with motorbike tow frame from JD McAdam and sons breakdown service, think his name was Ian John, he was fantastic, thank you, anyway he loaded the bike and brought us the 50 miles home. The mechanic who attended was Paul Brown from Jackson’s recovery . He said he was due to finish his shift but still came out to help us and he was really friendly and polite and professional. Sorted out our problem (flat battery ) and got us on our way home . Thank you Paul !”
