“Shocking, complete waste of money. We have been paying £100/Yr for several years to cover us if we breakdown. The last time we called out Greenflag was 8yrs ago. The service was good. How things have changed! This time we called the number to be told repeatedly the wait would be over 15minutes and it would be much quicker if we used the app. After 30 minutes the call was cut off. So we spent 15 minutes installing the app and registering and filling in the details of our rescue call out. Only to be asked to call them on the original number to request a rescue. The app was a complete waste of time. We then called again to be told the wait was now 30minutes.! We requested a callback. After half an hour we spoke to someone who had no record of our breakdown from the app so we had to go through the whole process of giving all the details again. He then told us if we wanted recovery we would need to pay a further £40. We are on the same policy as our previous call out where we had to pay nothing extra, this is something grenflag have added without our knowledge. We then were sent to a secure payment system, we put in our card details and were then told that the payment did not work, we then tried another card to get the same response! Without payment greenflag would not come out so we were left stranded and had to find another way of being recovered. This company are crooks! They have had 100s of pounds of our money and when we needed them they left us stranded!!”

“I was told it would be an hour and would get an ETA 10 min before..I didn’t..I phoned back 3 more times..Mechanic arrived 3 and a half hours later with no ETA phone call.
Mechanic recharged battery..Sat in the car o show it working..showed me a print out..it needed a new battery..Gave me the keys( it was dark) The next day my neighbour informed me the drivers window was wide open..He had left it open and weather conditions were stormy and extreme rain..Drivers seat and passengers seat is now totally saturated and the car is starting to smell..I am devastated..I’m a pensioner..as I had to get to a medical appointment, I’ve had to sit on plastic sheeting..I would put no stars if I could..I need compensation to get the car dried out and cleaned of the awful smell”
“I called for assistance to get 125 miles home following an emergency situation in India where I developed an infection in a leg wound. I couldn’t drive and decided to contact Green Flag to seek assistance.
The response was a driver to drive my car and myself home to be admitted to hospital. The driver was on time as arranged.

“I was charged £150 because my car was older than 16 years and left in a vulnerable position to then a day or so later call and have the amended policy cover the same car for an extra £0 which I believe is beyond. Joke and I will be contacting and tweeting about this further if not resolved as it is beyond a joke !”

Every year they push up this prices and when you look on line at green flag for the same service it is many many pounds much cheaper then when you speak to them they say it is not green flag putting the prices up but the insurers . Then when you tell them that you want to cancel them and delete your card details they say that you have to do it your self on line.. they take your card details to start with so why cant they delete your details . Most unhelpful”
“I put in wrong fuel so they booked a fuel pumper from 80 miles away whose tanks were full anyway!.. had to wait 6 hrs, so paid for a service myself that arrived in 50 minutes.”

“Car would’nt start mechanic checked the battery said it was the starter motor . Asked for help from his co worker nobody available so asked if I could ask my neighbours to give a push ! A neighbour was coming out of their house, who gave the car a push it started. I took the vehicle to a garage who said it was the battery!!! Not very professional”
“Excellent efficient quick service. I was waiting at home for homestart but waited less than 1hour for the mechanic to arrive. The battery problem was quickly diagnosed and advised to go and get the old battery replaced. I was kept informed of the ETA of the mechanic by text and phone Thank you Green Flag and Richford motor services.”

“Broke down recently at 2.45 pm on a very cold day and phoned for assistance. Told them was urgent has I'm a lone female and had 2 kids in my car. After nearly an hour and no sign of the recovery van I sent my two kids home in a taxi. A friend also came out to look after me whilst I waited. The mechanic finally showed up around 6.15pm and then advised that the car needed to be recovered but he was unable to do this his vehicle was the wrong type. My friend gave me a lift home. My car was finally delivered to my house at 2am the next morning. We WILL NOT be renewing.”
“I had a flat tyre today (Sunday) and requested an engineer to come to my home and put air in tyre so I could drive it. They refused as I did not have a spare tyre. All they could say was to book someone to recover my vehicle and take it to a local garage perhaps tomorrow. I'm an eldery lady (Blue Badge Holder) and do not understand this policy, unfortunately I've already paid upfront for 1 year wish I hadn't bothered.”
