Groupon sells illegal licenses, and then when they get caught you loose out on the service they sold, and they wont offer a refund. Apparently they are a scam website as of 2023.

The pressure washing company was very deceitful in their ad saying for $49 you could save $125 on the job. Then when you call them for an appointment they tell you would have to pay them an additional $300 dollars for them to do the job. Groupon supported this deception and would not refund the amount paid to them. It is a scam and will reach out to BBB.

Groupon is selling many vouchers from crooked merchants. A lot of hidden fees are not disclosed on the vouchers. The crooked merchant tried to charge me $25 extra not listed on the voucher. Groupon refused to refund my money. Groupon is a bad company. Do not buy from Groupon. They have very bad and lousy customer service.

Extremely bad experience, I wish I can give negative stars. Will never buy Groupon again in my life. It’s nightmare. The Groupon just let the Merchant to take away my money. And the merchant literally a scammer and she didn’t fillfull the service I was paying for. Extremely disappointing about how regulate the merchant. And Groupon acts as a third party and they told me there is nothing they can’t do beside kindly contact the merchant to see can refund me the money or not. Therefore they keep supporting the merchant to keep scam customers’s money, and I have been talking to them for weeks, and it has been wasted me so much time for nothing. I wish I never bought the deal before. Extremely disappointed on how Groupon Handled my issue. So if you decide to buy the deals from Groupon, make sure you think about it two times or more, or you will be extremely regret like me. The merchant didn’t really treat you like customers, and I feel she just want to scam me money. Thats all I feel. The entire experience was like a scam and it’s terrible. It has been bother me for more than one month. The merchant is so rude and she told me it’s my fault. Yes, it’s my fault to let you scam me and I won’t that stupid again. And Groupon only told me to contact the merchant, and the merchant doesn’t care, and I’m the stupid one. I just want to let people know and I don’t want people like me. It’s very terrible.

It is astonishing Groupon is in business. I made the mistake of buying a Groupon, and the merchant was appalling. Groupon sent me a review link that didn’t work—that can happen, but their response to the matter has been astonishing. Trying to deal with their “customer service” is like banging your head against the wall. They did absolutely nothing no matter how many times I contacted them, except waste y time with unbelievably idiotic replies. I have wasted almost two hours dealing with agents who are either illiterate or beyond incompetent, who are incapable of even identifying the problem let alone fixing it; all they seem able to do is waste as much of your time as possible; whatever money you think you’ll save you will lose dealing with the usually shoddy merchants they promote and their relentless negligence

While deals can be found on Groupon, I find their current customer service horrible. I bought a coupon for a massage, but found that the massage business was not honoring the coupons. So while I was able to get a credit from Groupon, spending it was a different story. Each time I tried to spend my Groupon credit, I was told (by the interface software) that I must enter my credit card number - even though I was only trying to use my Groupon credit. I did not want to enter my CC info, it was unnecessary. The worst part was though when I tried to consult with customer service. Each respondent was from India (indicated by Indian names), and each one asked for more details (even though I provided all info and screen shots), and each time I responded it went to a new CS rep, who then started the process all over again. They were clearly having fun with me, making me repeat everything time and time again, and never providing an answer. ...Infuriating. I am done with Groupon, I will use local flavor instead.

I make the mistake of purchasing $400 worth of Groupons for an upcoming vacation to London. There were problems with scheduling reservations. It turns out their "customer service" is bots that just send you one worthless email after another! I am contacting an attorney to get my money back!

I've never ever written a review in my life, but I have to add on to this. Like what others said. They do not very their merchants and refused to give a refund even if it's the merchant's fault. They will keep your money no matter what. I told them I had problems with the merchant an no longer want to use the groupon and just want my money back since I paid $175 for it. They sent my complaint to "the team" and told me they would contact me. I never got my money back. Instead, they gave my personal contact information to the merchant without my consent and they contacting me regarding my groupon. I believe this is against their privacy policy. All I can say is avoid groupon at all cost. I wish there's an option for negative stars.

Horrible experience! I bought a massage, the merchant was a show at my appointment. Then Groupon refused to refund. They forced me to reschedule with this unprofessional merchant who wasted my time. Don't buy on Groupon!

Please note if I could give Groupon minus reviews I would I bought by mistake 2 Groupon services and before I could use them I am recovering from the death of my mother and from having two rumors I work for the nhs and the service Groupon give well if the nhs did that people would die . They just seem to be heartless I will cancelling my account with them I suggest you revie my experience and buy from Wowcher better customer service the person who rejected it was Soniya Pujari S from Groupon hope she gets the sack I have had no reply back from them terrible buyer beware

Groupon use to be such a great experience. You could try new restaurants and experiences, try out a new salon. It was fun. I even used it in the past for my resume. It’s been a few years and a couple months ago I decided to buy a resume deal. Well. Okay. It was bad. I mean the person doing my resume didn’t even proof it. Spelling errors. Duplicate info. Just bad. I figured ‘just a bad apple.’ So I tried another resume service the site reccomend. This was worse… it was the most basic cookie cutter resume which gutted my resume and wouldn’t have gotten me a job at McDonalds. Both times I ate the money and just reviewed the services. Maybe I should have figured it out then, but I needed my hair cut. I had had great hair experiences in the past so figured I’d try Groupon again. I got back from the salon about two hours ago in tears. My hairs is choppy, cut so short in places it sticks out like a poker and is an absalote mess. I don’t even have enough hair left that I could beg another salon to fix it. I figured I’d reach out to Groupon. I’ve only ever had to once in the past and I knew they use to have the Groupon Gaurentee. However no phone number. I get into chat with someone who clearly doesn’t speak English as their first language… so no US support any longer as well… and I explain the situation. I even sent photos. They offered me $7 in Groupon bucks. The resumes… no one will ever see. However I have three interviews next week for very well paying jobs and I look like one of those toddlers who take scissors to their hair when mom is in the other room. Its that bad. I’m livid. The agent said they would get back to me later. This isn’t okay. Frankly I’ve lost all trust for Groupon and whatever they use to be is clearly dead. They no longer back up customers if something really bad happens like what happened today. It feels like they just don’t care. It’s but at your own risk and screw you if it turns out badly. I just got back into support chat and had them delete my account. Don’t use or trust Groupon

Reflections Massage. SHE IS A THIEF. I purchased a Groupon and set appointment for May 5, 11:30am. I arrived knocked on door and no answer. I contacted Groupon for refund. They denied me because merchant said I was a no show. I provided proof that she lied I was there and took a picture. They refunded me. Shame on her is she that desperate for money or just lazy. DO NOT LET HER STEAL YOUR MONEY. Groupon should stand behind their customers.

There have been three fraudulent offers posted to Groupon that were for the same type of service business. Different contact and business owners. When I tried to get a refund for the first owner, Groupon would only allow me to trade the money spent for "bucks" to use in their app, no refund. Then I traded these bucks for another skin care service provider, who didn't contact me back for three weeks finally she said to contact Groupon for a refund. Contacted Groupon to get my money refunded for both and was told they could only refund in bucks to be spent on their site. Trust in site at this point was already at zero considering they haven't vetted their offers however they refused to refund the money. So tried again, and the service provider provided me with a fake address this time for an empty warehouse and didn't respond when I called. Groupon still refused to refund the money spent on their site. Do not use Groupon, they are no longer vetting businesses and are not reliable

As a merchant I have to say that not only is groupon the worst they also service the absolutely dredge of society. Groupon customers are the absolute worst customers of anyone. Most of them are always trying to get the item or service for free and its already very cheap. I stopped servicing groupon and their customers and I suggest all merchants, Hotels, etc also stop. This will cut down on the amount Karen's!

Sold me unavailable dates. I called the hotel to check about 1 week after buying, and they said Groupon had double booked me, and to tell them to refund it. I contacted Groupon, who told me to ""read the fine print"", as though they hadn't lied to me right there on the booking page in BIG print? JUST BOOK DIRECT. ITS NOT CHEAPER, BECAUSE YOU WONT GET ANYTHING

This company are the absolute worst, their customer service is shocking. They lie to you about your order, they refuse to cancel or refund your money for items you have not received. The staff just are rude and send you cheeky messages when you dare to complain about the poor service you receive. They then deleted my account when I told them I was going to take this further. Avoid.

I tried to use my Groupon gift card but the site said I was entering a wrong code on their website. I called their telephone number on the back of the card and they don’t take calls. I tried their chat 8 separate occasions and when the rep didn’t know the answer to something they just stop answering. I asked to speak to a supervisor in at least 4 occasions and they said one would get back to me w/in 24 hours. Yet not once did they ask for my telephone number or email, so obviously no one was going to get back to me.

Got given afternoon tea voucher from my daughter. Was unable to book it until 17 e mails later so had to sadly involve daughter. I suspect because of this many vouchers go unused Also turned out voucher only covered Mondays and Tuesdays which was stated no where clearly

Groupon does not verify its merchants and do not provide refunds when their merchants do not provide services. I purchased a costly beauty treatment from a merchant on the groupon website and even used their booking portal within the website for acompany called Ashtones Beauty in Fulham. During a train strike, I spent £25 on taxis and I was told to purchase my own numbing cream (a further £25 cost) prior to attending the treatment. When I arrived, the salon was completely shut. I called the number listed and texted several times as I waited for 30 minutes outside in the freezing cold. I also sent 3 emails. The emails were read but never responded to. I reached out to Groupon customer service to alert them of the merchant clearly fraudulently offering services and taking funds. Groupon refused to return my money and repeatedly said that instead that they would reach out to the merchant on my behalf. I said at least a dozen times that I do not wish to have any one who clearly runs a fraudulent business performing any type of invasive or touch-based treatment on me and that I simply want a refund. They refused. They also violated the GDPR law which prohibits them from sharing customer information even though i specifically said I do not give permission for my details to be shared. When I insisted that I want a refund, they simply put me on hold for over an hour and then cut me off! Do not use Groupon - they do not verify their merchants and they do not provide any security or safety for the consumer. Rather use treatwell
