The voucher was marked redeemed, despite that not being the case _ I suspect groupon did this to make it more difficult to get a refund. Grouon asked me to get a confirmation email from the provider saying the service was not provided due to their insurance issues. I provided this email to Groupon in early March. Since then they have failed to respond to my emails asking for the response, which was promised within 7 days. This is not the first time. I was stupid to use them again. There is no customer support, and they do not know the meaning of honesty or customer service. Two months after providing them with what they requested, no refund, no communication. It's not very hard, it's impossible to get a refund - £100 down the drain.”

“Using Groupons search I looked up “horseback riding lessons near me”. Groupon’s search led to a service that seemed to be priced reasonably. So I bought it only to find out (after clicking on the purchased Groupon) that it was for a company out in ARIZONA!! I am in Ohio. I bought a mystery holiday from Groupon.
After a week I did not receive the holiday and the company did not contact me (despite the online form saying they would within 72 hours).
I contacted groupon to ask for an update, I said could I have either a refund or for them to get the company to contact me.
Groupon replied with this:
"I'm happy to help, but first I'll need written confirmation from the merchant that you haven't received any services and are eligible for a refund. After a voucher is marked "Redeemed," Groupon can’t modify the status of a voucher without this confirmation.
Once you’ve received the merchant’s confirmation, please make sure their email address, date, and time the email was sent are visible and forward it to customer support at
When we receive that forwarded email with the required information, we'll be able to issue a refund.
I look forward to hearing from you. If you have any further questions, please let me know."
Groupon never provided me with any contact details for the company and now in order to get my money back I need to contact a company I've never spoken to.
Its clear that once Groupon have taken your money they are done and they have no responsibility to ensure services are provided.
I recommend wowcher, they sell the same stuff but will actually ensure services paid for are provided.”

They actively work to prevent customers from speaking to any actual employees or execs. They don't pay cashback owed from their Groupon+ program, and don't even respond to BBB complaints. Signed up for their new Groupon+ Dining Cashback program, made purchases and received confirmation they were recorded, however, the company hasn't paid a dime in cashback.
