I bought a Ring smart charger used it twice the second time it didn`t work. Halfords replaced it I used the replacement twice and second time it went wrong Halfords won`t replace it as it is over 12 months old. I bought an Aplollo gents bike for £199 and a ladies bike for my wife also £199 the week after they were selling them for £99 each. Also the bike is the wrong size for me and I can`t ride it. I bought their top socket set and the ratchet handles all broke the first time they were used. The promised replacements never materialized. I can`t say anything else bad about Halfords as I no longer shop there!!! I would advise you to be the same!! Halfords are welcome to contact me about these issues if they care!

Ordered a bike on line.... Got message back to confirm. I Phoned Halfords at Kingston park Newcastle to double check "yes sir it's ready for you" I said I'll be in later to collect it. They rang me 3 hours later to say they didn't have 1 in stock. ( have they sold it to someone else?)Dissapointed n disgusted... I'll not be using them again.

Phoned Halfords Stamford to book my "nextbase dashcam" for hardwireing to my car, fitter booked me for 10.30am Friday 26th June, got there early (10.15am} only to be told the fitter does not start until 11.30am??? after complaining a fitter arrived at 11am, he then proceeded to dismantle my car (Jag xf) looking for a live feed only to fail on both the passenger and drivers side, by 1pm he gave up put my trim back and said we have your number when I have spoken to our electrical supplier we will phone you and arrange for you to call in. By the 1st July I got fed up waiting for his call so phoned only to be told sorry the fitter is not in today I will get him to phone you on the 2nd?? yes you guessed right no phone call so far( Sunday 5th July 10.30pm) On Saturday the 4th July I asked my neighbour (chief mechanic at Vauxhall Melton) to look at it, it took him about 10 mins to complete the job. WOULD I USE HALFORDS AGAIN, NEVER A VERY UPSET EX HALFORDS CUSTOMER Alan Hunt

Took our daughters bike to Halfords at Netherfield in Nottingham as we needed a quick service before her 'Bikeability' course at school. The rear brakes were not working fully and the front gear gog not engaging properly. Ideal. They have a £30 service that does just that, brakes and gears! Except it doesn't. The bike has come back with no discernible difference, Absolutely appalling. There is no sign that ANYTHING has been done and the staff member who happily took my wife's money did not mention any problems with the gears or brakes that remained. We don't have time to get it sorted but I will not allow my daughter out on it, she will have to do 'Bikeability' on her older brothers bike!

I would like to inform people of how bad my experience was with Halfords instore, online and customer service has been on a recent attempted purchase so as to warn other potential customers as to the incredibly poor service that may be expected when purchasing from Halfords. To summarise I bought items through Halfords Ebay a couple weeks ago. I was informed via the Ebay App that my items were ready for collection. I travelled to the store expecting my items to be ready for collection but ended up waiting for 30 minutes which meant I missed my dental appointment. I was told that ebay were at fault at first and that they would get the items re-ordered and they would let me know when they had arrived. I was called 4 days later and told that my items were ready for collection again. Again I travelled to the store and once more was left waiting 20 minutes for items that they searched for and could not find. I was told that it wasn’t their fault again and that Halfords ebay is not the same as Halfords (they use the same name and logo and have the same customer service though). I then waited a further 10minutes to receive a refund on my items and left the store to call the customer service people to explain the situation. They did attempt to call back and left a message. When I got home I checked the total I spent on ebay and found they had short changed me when refunding the amount instore. I spoke to the customer service line again on Monday and have been told after suggesting they make a donation to charity to make up for the inconvenience caused that they would compensate me with 10 pounds plus a 40p per mile refund. When I asked about the 2 and a half hours of my time wasted, they said they couldn’t do anything and this is how they resolve all customer complaints. I really feel as if Halfords haven’t taken the issue of wasting peoples time as if you look at the feedback on their ebay account it seems it is an ongoing issue of people being told their items are ready for collection but aren’t there. Other people have complained on the other negative feedback comments of struggling to get a refund on their mistakes in the past also. I used to think Halfords actually cared about their reputation, but I have been left absolutely infuriated by their apparent lack of valuing a regular customer. I have already found other outlets for all the items I needed and the other regular items I would buy from them.

i bought a car stereo from halfords. The customer service at my local halfords is rubbish as theres always noone around on the tills and you have to go look around for them. I was told my car stereo was compatible with my car when i bought it and i was told that they wouldn't accept refunds on car stereos? so i decided to make sure it was the right one and i asked him to make sure it would be compatible with my car. when it came to fitting it we first tried fitting it in the halfords carpark just incase we needed help, i asked one of the employees for some help and he told me he would go check on his computer and come back. I was waiting for ages and he didn't even come back. Secondly Due to it not being compatible i had to buy several different wires and get it professionally fitted and that cost me twice as much. I now have it installed in my car and also need some separate wires to get the radio to work...I've never been so annoyed.

Halford's Staff were helpful getting me to spend money on a roof box and bars. As soon as the money was in the till, i was abandoned, not even an offer to get to the car park with large boxes. With young child in tow, i missed out on the joy and nice feeling of having bought something, expensive and useful, but left feeling angry and resentment as fitting the thing in the car park (only option to get it home) was tricky and child couldn't be left alone with offer of assistance from the staff not apparent. They just wanted my money. Well done. You'll get no more.

Absolutely shocking. Orpington branch attempted to defraud me out of £540 on a bike. Member of staff told me he couldnt refund the bike but 'trust him' come back a day later and he will refund it without me walking out with the bike or any proof. Then i find the members at Orpington were all sacked that day!! Customer service awful and trying the distance themself from the situation. Halfords Orpington steer well clear, complete con artists and Halfords as a company are awful.

went into the bexhill ravenside branch today to buy a bike. had a particular one in mind as saw it on their website. i was the only customer in there 2 young lads behind the desk chatting, not on the phone or serving were not interested, no acknowledgment or coming over to see if i wanted help. another customer came in for a bit.. same treatment and he left. after about 15 mins i had seen enough, this branch does not want or deserve the business. dread to think how many sales they are losing. will get a bike elswhere... your loss halfords

Battersea branch :they just dont want to work ! Slow and painfull experience ! Its just like they are doing me a favour and not the opposite. The lady at the cashier looked at me as if I was entering her house with muddy shoes. Terrible costumers service. Incompetents.

Recently I reserved 4 individually packed spark plugs on the halfords website to collect in store. When I arrived at the store I was told the individually packed spark plugs were not available. My only option was to purchase a 4 pack of the exact same item for twice the total price. Halfords were not willing to honour the price I was promised online nor did they try and resolve my official complaint. Please keep in mind when reserving items on the Halford's website that you may be charged more than you were promised.. -- ref:_00D20CMz._500w0mr1TL:ref

Reserved 2 items online, went to collect only to be told that 1 of the items was in fact out of stock. Went to till to pay for remaining item, staff member had screwed up order form and had to get it out of bin. Then told me tills were frozen. Left me stood there for 10 minutes. I decided to go elsewhere but girl on till was only interested in telling me it wasn't her fault. Terrible customer service and pointless online reservation system, Halfords going to go bust if they continue with terrible service, companies like ECP will see to that!!!!

I did a review on the Halfords website for a sat nav I just bought. The review was 5 stars for the sat nav and I gave some feedback praising the prices but not so good on other items like wiper blades and headlight bulbs that you can get so much cheaper on well-known auction sites! Guess what? Halfords edited out all the other stuff and just left the good comments! DON'T BELIEVE THE HALFORDS REVIEWS!! They are edited and the person has no way to delete them! That's the last time I submit anything to the Halfords website!

I went in to halfords South Shields to use my trade card and got ripped off I bought a jack and the sales man behind the desk told me there's no trade on that item I'd have to buy a more expensive jack. I then found out that I should of got trade discount on it. It's disgusting.

Went to halfords on 24 december 2014 to have a drivers side light bulb replaced. I was told to wait 10 minutes while another clients number plate was being seen to, more than a hour later i gave my keys to a lady at the till while i take the kids out as they were going crazy by now, ten minutes later they phone and say its ready. Get to the car and find the dust cap of the light on passenger seat and my driver side window down and broken !. Go instore and the fitter cant be found and another young fellow pops the cover back in seconds and tells me the fitter was going to tell me it doesnt fit ? ?. Now a month on still no resolution various managers spoken to explaining what happened to each one and they keep saying fixing the light has nothing to do with the window, obviouly not but what happened to the window in the ten minutes with them ? Did they send someone who had no training were they drunk or what but still cant find out who did it or whichmanager was on duty. Beware of halfords they trying to cash in on their parts by offering a convenient service wich they are not able to do ! Terrible experience so much stress and all just to put a bulb in, dont rely on them rather go to official repairers and save in the long run

Have been to Halfords Autocentre in Harrow for MOT and Service. It was the worst experience I ever had. Halfords should first train its staff on how to speak with customer and solve their problem. Store Manager Mr. Chris Tydda was so rude. Will never ever visit Halfords again and will not recommend to anyone. I was shown the door by one of the staff. And when I left they were laughing so loud as if they are there to make mockery of their customer. I have to come out without servicing and MOT. Such a waste of time and energy.

I called at their Burgess Hill store to buy and have fitted a rear brake light on my VW Beetle.. The sales assistant tried to find someone to do it but one fitter was busy with another customer and one was apparently at lunch. I waited patiently but no-one came and the young lad started to try and do it himself. He was clearly struggling so disappeared Into the shop and another fitter came out to help, then another, who had a quick go then he too disappeared. The 2nd fitter couldn't take the bulb cover off and slightly damaged the paintwork on my car in the process. When I pointed this out he denied it, but the scratch is right next to where he was using some plastic wrench to lever off the cover. In the end no-one could do it so I'm now going to have to take my car to a garage just to get a bulb changed! Surely I can't be the only Beetle driver in Sussex so Halfords should have known they can't do it and not even tried or provided a fitter who knew what he was doing.

Absolutely appalling, the website allows you to reserve items for collection at your local store after one hour. In reality this never happens & I've tried three times in three days with three different products. When you arrive to collect them the store managers excuses vary from "they must have been pinched" to "its a computer glitch due to the extended Christmas holidays" & finally "we no longer stock that product range". I've got my reply,"use them when the product isn't available anywhere else & I'm desperate" from now on & I've been a faithful customer for over forty years, sorry all good things come to an end & that might include the Halfords business in my opinion unless they can get their act together.
