This company is a joke - useless customer services and impossible to campaign or get anything resolved. Will never use them again!

Ordered a mobile tyre change on Sunday morning and arranged and booked a time slot for Monday morning 10-12 am. I got a confirmation but on Monday I had to call in to receive the message that there need to cancel the booking and rebook for Tuesday. If I would not call myself I would end up waiting hours. Now I lost 2 days off work just because there could not inform me early that there can’t do even a simple mobile tyre change. Worst mobile tyre change company ever

Utterly disgusting customer service. Live chat just 'refer' you to a specialist team if your order has not arrived but nobody contacts. After 4 chats over a 7 day period no reply. The gatekeepers via chat are useless with no ability to actually do anything to help.

Offering 20% discount on tyres online. But at checkout, only 15% given. Over an hour bring transferred to different people on the telephone. Went onto chats and half an hour "chatting" to someone from another country who simply said "only 15%" and refused to transfer me to a manager. Terrible customer service

Send damaged goods and refuse to communicate with me Received order... Both items damaged. Card board box damaged and damp. Bottled broke and leaked! Been InTouch with customer services they have told me I must wait until they contact me on what they decide to do... Sorry but they have my money and I have two damaged orders and they are dictating to me that I must wait for their decision! Absolutely disgusting. First and last time I will ever order from Halfords. Still to his day I am waiting for them to come back to me. I have contacting my credit card company and I will escalate this to the ombudsman.

Here’s a corrected version of your statement: I purchased a Halfords Apollo folding e-bike and used it for just two weeks before the battery stopped working. I took it to Halfords Chingford for repair, and initially, they told me it would take one week. However, every time I called for an update, they kept telling me to wait, and now it has been more than 23 days with no resolution. This is extremely disappointing—it’s just a bicycle, not a Formula One car, yet the repair is taking unreasonably long. The delay has already affected my daily commute and forced me to spend extra money on train fares, which cost me £6 per day. Given that the bike was only used for two weeks before the battery failed, this reflects very poor product quality and an even worse customer service experience. What’s the purpose of buying an e-bike if I can’t even use it for its intended purpose? I feel this delay is unacceptable, and I am deeply frustrated by the lack of communication and progress. Very disappointed very poor quality and services.

4 Halfords own brand Carrera E-bikes failed within 50 miles - latest one has done ZERO miles and they won’t repair or refund as out of warranty even though replacement bike is broken brand new!! Won’t even switch on. Never been ridden. I am disabled and they said to bring it into store and only then did they try to charge me to fix it!!! Ed the manager at the Maidstone store had a terrible attitude and was a disgrace and put down staff (Jasper) who were much friendlier and gave way better customer service! £1399! Give me my old bike back then at least that one switched on!

If I could give 0, I would. Sunday I realised I had a puncture and needed a new tyre. Looked on halfords for the tyre and planned on booking a mobile fitting Monday evening. The tyre was competitively priced but they charged me a “single tyre supplement” charge of £24.99. In every other garage I’ve been to or had mobile fittings, I’ve never heard such nonsense. I had booked for my tyre to be fitted between 6-8pm at the cost of an extra £17.50. The whole charge came to £183.48. First problem was this was taken from my bank TWICE. So I’m now down over £360 in a cost of living crisis. Monday rolls around and I’ve been dropped off at work as I can’t drive my car. While at work, where I am, like most people, unable to reply to calls and messages, was left two voicemails. The first was the mobile fitter asking if he could come earlier as he had finished all other appointments and didn’t fancy working quite that late. The second voicemail was to say he had a ‘family emergency’ and now could not attend the fitting and that I would need to ring Halfords to rebook. Of course, I was disgruntled and would have been more understanding had he not already mentioned he didn’t want to be working so late. I promptly phoned Halfords in my Frustration. When you book these things, they’re meant to be carefree and easy. This was definitely not the service I experienced. I phoned up and the lady told me there were no other mechanics available and I’d have to wait for their next available appointment. I had mentioned to her that I had also been charged twice for this service not to happen. She told me a different story. The mechanic has been ‘in an accident’ during the day and could not attend the fitting. Somehow, these stories did not add up in my mind. I explained I’d like a refund as I needed the tyre Monday and then had to rush around trying to find the same tyre elsewhere. The woman on the phone explained she would raise the refund but it’d take 5 working days to be returned. In a cost of living crisis, lots of people do not have £350 spare for cancelled events - let alone £183 spare. I have since had no notification regarding the refund that she ‘raised’. To say I’m dissatisfied is a huge understatement. I don’t feel I have been listened to, looked after as a returning customer, or dealt with with sincerity. I have emailed Halfords as well and am waiting their response

Halfords are refusing me to refund me for a free gift they made me purchase (wouldn’t let me complete the transaction without forcing me to buy it despite being advertised as a free gift and I have a screenshot of this.) I have been requesting a refund since 30th September, both in writing and on the phone. I have it in writing via email on 3rd October that I would be refunded within 72 hours but despite calling 3 times today (had to call 3 times as previous customer service reps, Thandi and Zintle both hung up on me when I asked why I have not been refunded.) Apparently a lady named Chantelle is handling my refund, but so far, no monies have been received. This comes after I waited over a week for the Byfleet branch to call me back as I had a question regarding an item and I was repeatedly told I would be called back later that day/the next day. It took over a week for anyone to call me. I emailed a complaint and this was followed up with further questions from the Halfords team and then they stopped replying on this matter also. Could I pleased be contacted urgently regarding my refund and also why Halfords are forcing their customers to purchase free gifts to complete a transaction and then refusing to refund them?

I ordered a roof rack online, it arrived within 24 hours, but was clearly a used item that had been re-boxed and shipped as if it were new. Won't use their online service again. I had to return it to a shop and got a refund a few days later.

Booked a wheel alignment with them. Arrived on time then went for a coffee only to be called to say their alignment machine wasn't working. Called back a few days later-the guy on the other end told me that their machine had been out of action for weeks. My journey and time was a complete waste. I would caution anyone to think about using them. Have not had any refund as of yet.

I took out a motoring club membership £5 per month was going to buy a battery and take advantage of the free mot got told so much misleading information didn’t go ahead bought the battery elsewhere and had the Mot done elsewhere I cancelled the membership and asked for my money back 2 payments of £5 I have never had so much trouble trying to get hold of someone in customer services went into a local Halfords close to where I live spoke to a young employee what an amazing young man very confident and helpful he’s actually wasted at Halfords he would be a credit to any company his name was Rupert I then went into the store and spoke to Phil the manager another credit to the company who don’t seem to care about the customers he was so helpful sent an email for me as I could not get anyone to answer so frustrating I went back in to the store a couple of days after and said I hadn’t heard anything he then sent another email the next day I had my £10 refunded and the membership cancelled had I read the reviews before I would never have joined !! Thank you once again Phil the manager at Exeter Halfords Russell Way they don’t deserve staff like you who went above and beyond to help not a large amount of money but the total frustration of not being able to spk to someone forever grateful for your help and to Rupert lovely young man I hope you go far you would be an asset to any company it’s a shame it didn’t extend to the online route which was of no help or the live chat waste of time and the non existent customer service

Despite providing all information, the wrong battery was recommended. The mobile operator was brilliant and fitted the correct one (apparently this happens so often that they carry spare batteries of the right type!!!), we were told to contact the help centre to avoid double billing - tried Chat - No agent despite saying it was avaiable until 22.00 every day and when you ring the option on the phone it simply cuts you off - not even a message. Absolutely dire!!

What an excuse of a manager in the Peterborough store. Has no costumer service skills whatsoever the most pathetic ignorant rude person I’ve ever met if Halfords employ people like this it’s no surprise at the amount of one star reviews well done Dean of the Peterborough store I’m sure you will go far.

When I search for home car battery fitting and it comes up with Halfords saying "We'll come to for free" do they then leave me sitting by my car for half an hour and when I ring them they say they don't come out? I should have known better. I've never had good service from Halfords in the past so why should I expect them to deliver good customer service now? Never again.

I purchased 2 x Anti- Theft Car Key Signal Blockers, and whilst the ordering and collection process was first class, unfortunately the products DID NOT WORK- I can still unlock my car with the fob inside the case. My car is still therefore susceptible to hacking whilst I try to source a pouch that does what it is supposed to do.

I bought a bike in march 2024. The new bike had very bad brakes. Usually takes a second for a bike to stop but the Halford bike needed ages to stop and I had to drag my shoes on the ground to avoid being run over by a car. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stop or even slow down on a turn and smashed my face into metal fences. However, the bike was returned and I got refunded. I asked for compensation for the scar on my face, the week of pain. Instead I got funny later from Halfords lawyer saying that the compensation could be less than the cost of the court procedure and of cost I gave up. So, don’t buy bikes from Halfords! Too costly with life reminder on your face for the experience.

Had all 4 tyres changed at thier Borehamwood branch. Didn't know they were part of Matuonal tyres now. When I got the car back all 4 recently refurbished had some damage done to them. Also new balance weights had been fitted leaving marks were the old ones had been. Missing wheel cap cover as well, these were just left on the passenger seat and not put back on the car. The car is a 2015 BMW Z4 with 15500 miles on the clock, pretty much show room condition and garaged. I spend £600 a few months ago getting the wheels and caliper done , so why would I go out if my way to damage them, as Halford claimed it was me. Poor workmanship and lake of attention to detail. Will never use Halfords .

Went into Halfords Peterborough today 16_08_24 to purchase some oil. Was told by the lady on the till I could not use my phone app for the trade card I would need the plastic card I was issued. I explained that I had used the app recently in other stores with no problems but she would not except it. The manager Dean the rudest person I’ve ever met appeared and after trying to explain to him that I had a card and the mobile app but he didn’t want to know and asked me to leave his shop. I asked his name he said Dean I said surname he said I’m not telling you what a professional manager. Have put in a complaint to Halfords waiting for a response.
