Bought a Carrera bike at Halfords 6 months ago. I go on it twice a week mostly on roads and cycle paths. Within that time, Ive had to take it back 3 times. Once for a air puncture and twice for a snapped chain. None of this included in the warranty and they insinuate I should have bought the repair care package so I would have got all that included. What I find incredibly cheeky though is that when they repaired it the first time they vaguely alluded to the gear mechanic not being aligned with the chain (after they fixed it) and that has led to it snapping off again. Then they try and upsell you to buy chain cleaners/degreasers to get more money out of you and to excuse the faults I've been getting but shouldnt have happened. Definitely going somewhere else if it should happen (which I'm expecting it to).

Did not receive good acknowledgement of warranty issue. However after pressing they did agree to the repair. Asked for prepaid service to be carried out but did not do this after specifically asking for this to be written down. Unable to contact depot to arrange pre paid service by phone Told to visit another depot direct by visiting as telephone booking of pre paid service not possible.

I complained about the rudeness of an assistant in aColchester store last week I'm 83 years old and the attitude of this particular person left me almost in tears As I entered the store, she stood a few feet away chewing gum ,on her phone and didn't even acknowledge me until I stood in front of her I've complained about it I had a phone call to say they would look into it, but never heard anything more I've tried to contact them but it's almost impossible to get through to speak to someone I now have to buy wheel trims and have them fitted but am too concerned about going back to Halfords ever again They should be ashamed to have such rude staff especially when an issue is brought to their attention and completely disregarded .I gave them the full details of the visit and was told it would be sorted Tat was on 17th August Dreadful service

Took my car for MOT which passed but had said that I needed two new tyres and quoted £351.98 to replace. Looked online and found two tyres of the same quality and size for just £251.50. A massive saving of £100.48 for like for like tyres from a well known tyre supplier.

Went to buy replacement wing mirror glass. First store dropped it, oh well accidents happen. It was the last 1 in store so had to travel 15miles to another store. So I rang to make sure they had it stock, yes fantastic. Turns out call centre is in South Africa so made sure I called local store. Well temperature -7, I treked there only to find out they didn't have any in store. Can't fault the store staff, they did their best all hunting in store for it but doesn't help me. Third day of trying to fix it and another town to try 20 miles away. Not a happy customer.

Positive stars are for the people I dealt with face to face. The negatives though- misleading website information, poor customer support, unreliable timescales and prices. The story- took my bike for repairs, front gears are shot. Was told I had to book a bike health check first. Booked a 30 minute slot online. Took my bike in store and was told I'd get a call back in a day or so. Tried to complain about timescales online. Was told to try calling their customer number to reach the store and chase them. Not my job. Live chat ended without asking for my response. Technician eventually called and quoted 130 for repairs and a week's pickup. Absolutely not, I need that bike for work. Declined and arranged pickup. Technician called back and offered a £20 fix the same day, which worked. Well done to the guy that did the job in the end but Halfords treated me as an absolute from start to finish. Moral of the story- go elsewhere for bike repairs.

I tried to use my £20 'Reward' from confused.com, by purchasing a couple of things from Halfords online, - but I had to not complete my order after I had already entered my 'Giftcard number' and Pin, as supplied by confused - and now that I am able to proceed with my Order, Halford's system won't let me use that Giftcard number, - even though I haven't yet actually bought anything with it.

Placed a click and collect order for an air filter. Visited after 3 days to collect, but it hadn't arrived. and needed 2 more days to arrive. Visited after 3 more days to find that the order had been cancelled with no notification or any other communication from teh company. Will be using the local motor factors for all my future parts needs

Phoned my local store to ask whether they stocked a bike part. Got redirected to some kind of call centre, repeated my request. She went to find out and after 5 minutes I'm still waiting, left listening to some awful muzak. Since I'm autistic this just makes me very stressed so sadly, I had to hang up, non the wiser as to whether they had the part I needed so I bought one off Amazon. "Shop local" people say. How can I if I can't speak to my local shop to ask whether they tock a bike part? If I'm going to have to do a 16 miles round trip, I might as well just stay home in the warm and let my fingers do the walking, on the keyboard.

Greedy halfords don't give you a refund for 14 days . Everyone else pays back straight away. But greedy halfords keep your money for the full extent of their legal right .👎👎👎

Brought a reversing camera number plate on line and was going to get my local garage to fit it. My garage got back to me and said Halfords would be able to do it for less than they could do it for which it was £80. So booked it in on line for next available date i turned up and was told it was for a air conditioning check up. Checked my emails and i had done everything right so there cock-up. Had to rebook it in for a couple of days later. What was supposed to take a few hours ended up being 3 days having to pick car up and then take it back to get work done on it. In the end chap fitting had to pick me up to collect it. A few days later i had a new rear window fitted when he removed rear panel in boot all the wiring was just hanging down no cable tie or tape on it. Chap fitting rear window said it was a rubbish job should have been either taped or sleeved and relay box should have at least been cable tied. This was banging when boot shut. Paneling was not replaced and bungs were missing.

Carrera bike purchase ! Had bike built my them - ten months passed and fairly trouble free until this month when strange squeaking was coming from crank , called Halfords and booked in - day off work and went to local store and they said it had two light buckles in both wheels , rear wheel bearing and poss bearings in crank ! Said I had to re-book for a repair and take bike with me and bring back again! All this was classed as wear and tear . Had gears adjusted and today the chain dropped behind rear cassette.was rudely treated on online chat and cut off after 35 mins on phone .

I recently bought a Carrera Vengeance ebike on the understanding given by sales and internet information that I could achieve 40 miles plus from a fully charged battery this is not the case and feel so let down with the product as these pointers where the reason I purchased the bike in the first place the most I’ve managed to achieve is 26.3 miles which is far less than is advertised by Halfords the only way 40 plus could be achieved is with a back up battery of which is not offered so as you can tell I am not very happy and feel I have been given false information of which I will look into if I’m not offered a resolve thank you

Ordered 2 new bikes went to get covid vaccine, out of the house for 1 1/2 hours checked before I left that there were no deliveries due, returned home to find both bikes in large boxes at side of house in full view of anyone!! Both boxes were totally bashed with several holes. Bikes both ok although husband's chain keeps falling off, would not use again.

Initial purchase was fine but aftercare not so. Took the bike back as the front disc brake didn't work. Was called an hour later to say the bike was ready but when I returned I was told they could fix?? They then charged for a check which would of been fine had it been fixed. They then told me that I kinked the cable fixing the brake and when I changed the cable for which they charged me for and then checked the existing one and surprise it wasn't kinked and the brake still jammed. Returned again this morning and a more competent person fixed it. The peddle was another issue as they said I had cross threaded it but it was just a burr and when cleaned off pedal fitted fine. They had said to buy a new crank pedal arm which would arrive in January. This was a Christmas present I could present to my son so had to buy alternative presents to compensate for no bike and now it works. People now days just want to always buy new where as if it was a more experienced person they would and could of repaired. Not happy.

I bought a car seat and I gave my review for the product ( not good) and the service ( good) but my review was moderated and they decided not to put it on their website. Why they ask for feedback or a honest review but then they refuse to put it on their website ? Does it mean that they allow only good reviews to be published instead of honest ones?

so today I went to collect my new bike as I received a message it was ready. I had to wait and watch while some young emo girl tried to adjust the seat by forcing the nut the wrong way!.. after a few attempts and trying a different spanner I had to explain to her the correct way to undo a nut!.. This didn't fill me with any confidence so when I got home I had to check all the nuts n bolts, at which point I realised one of the reflectors was broken!!!... Its only a cheap bike, but even so... come on.. get the fxxxxxg basics right!!...
