I Recieved 2 X £15 vouchers when I purchased 2 bikes and was charged £30 for them when I collected the bikes The cost of one of the bikes came down by £30 The manager said I would receive a refund when I collect the bikes but I was told the £30 is for the vouchers. Be wary at Halfords

I required a cycle Tyre also an inner tube, so I straight away thought of Halfords. I am not a regular cyclist, so I also required a bit of assistance and a question to be answered. I stood at the counter for some considerable time as two or three of Halfords staff walked bye. Not once did anyone acknowledge me or say that someone would be with me in a moment. Two of the staff stood a few yards from me having a chat and a chuckle about something or other, so I stood waiting. Eventually a young man ( not in uniform )came close enough for me to ask if he could assist me in a purchase. He went off and came back with a tyre, but could not find the price saying that the bar code reader was not working. The fact that he was scanning the code in a North South attitude instead of East West may have been the problem, but what do I know ? He did ask another member of staff for assistance, but was met with a muttered comment about looking the item up on screen. The inner tube was not in stock. I have worked in retail for many years, and still help out even though I am retired, so I feel that I can say to Halfords, that your staff could do well to go on a customer /staff course to learn the basics. A smile of welcome would be a good start. The customer is everything. Get a grip. I will go elsewhere for my inner tube .

I would like to raise a complaint firstly about the amount of time you have to wait to speak to Halfords customer services, which you should have a ring back service if you cannot take phone calls. Then after visiting your Congleton store last Monday and being advised about a hybrid bike by the manager, I purchased the Carrera Subway bike with the service package and some accessories totalling £350. I was told that I would get a phone call on Wednesday/Thursday to collect the bike, which never happened apparently the phone system was not working correctly, but the Manager never thought of using his mobile phone to inform customers. Then I called into the store on Sunday after being away for the weekend to find that my bike was ready after the PDI check, so I took it home. When I tried to ride the bike the chain was jumping off the crank which I found very dangerous, it was very lucky that I was not on a main road, which could have been more serious. I have just spent 2 hours this morning with Craig who has changed the chain and done numerous adjustments to the gears which finally have resulted in the bike changing gear with out the chain coming off. Also while I was there a lady came in with her rear tyre hanging off after picking her bike up this weekend. Craig is waiting for the third incident to arrive shorlty. The PDI was not carried out correctly and I have little faith with the service plan, I have paid for being carried out properly going forward. This was not a cheap or expensive purchase for a bike, but I feel that Halfords need to address the seriousness as this could lead to someone being injured.

Harford chiswick store, two counter staff were working around 4pm 6/6/2016 one is a woman, who finished serving previous customer, then keep neglecting me the first one in the queue, she was pretending to be "busy", after a few more minutes until I was served by a male staff, she was immediately available to serve the next customer. I am not sure what was happening to her, but the way she behaved is very hard to understand. I have to say the male staff was good and helpful. It's bad experience because this female staff.

My battery failed the day before Christmas Eve. A family member came out and jump started my car and followed me to the braintree store to get a new battery. After a short wait a team member checked the battery type and identified a suitable replacement. Unfortunately after fitting it became apparent the the radio needed a code entering. Now previously at another store on a different car I was told that this would not be necessary as the radio would not be affected due to they fit the battery. But not this time, so no code no radio and no solution offered by halfords. I was told to simply contact my car dealership and they would provide a code. After completing the online request a code was purchased direct from renault, opps it appears the stero was not the original. Giving it some consideration I called halfords customer service team and explained the problem. Followed up with 2 emails and to date no response. I have called today and expressed my concern on the poor service and suggested that it was working before halfords installed new battery and that I had trawled the website for terms and condition and could find no disclaimer reference battery installation. I have been assured a response will be forthcoming. Poor show halfords you should make it clear in your Ts & Cs if you are not going to offer a complete service. Travelling over the Christmas period with no stero not good

Bought bulbs for my car through reserve and collect at Halfords Watford, at 10 times the price of what they cost in amazon, all because of the "service", when i got there, the item was not ready even though i receive a message saying it was. then the girl at the till had no idea how to retrieve the reservation number after waiting for a long time the item was collected and the wait was because they forgot about my order! I will be buying from Amazon next time

I called into Halfords in Cromer Norfolk on Friday to collect a bike. The lady working on the till was grumpy,a smile would of been good. She called to her work colleague who was some distance from her.He didn't hear,so she shouted again across the store. He collected the bike which was bought with a cycle helmet. There was no coversation with me or with the two store assiistants. As you have to walk down a flight of steps to get to the car park,it wouldn't of been nice for the lad to offer to carry it to the car for me! Come on Cromer where is the Christmas cheer and customer service? Won't be in a hurry to shop there again.

When I was a child Halfords was a name you could trust and it stood for quality. It was slightly moor expensive but the products lasted. This sadly is no longer the case wether it be a over priced headlight bulb, box of latex gloves or even a child seat they are barely fit for purpose. I feel totally let down by Halfords. It's a bit like a drunken wife beater, who the morning after promises it will never happen again and yet it does. Halfords I have given you the benefit of the doubt for the last time you have lost me. The quality of the majority of items is better in pound land. Accountants you are ruining a once great business and name. We all know what happened to woolworths I can see Halfords going the same way ......

Unreliable and at times incompetent. Sent my bike in on a Friday afternoon for a rear hub service and was promised it would be complete by Sunday morning. Upon arriving on Sunday morning nothing had been done. On a separate occasion I sent my bike in for new bar tape, the tape started to peel off the bike within 3 days of usage. However they did fit a new cassette and chain for me as I waited (about an hour) which I though was very efficient service and the parts worked perfectly well. Overall cheep, but unreliable. Sometimes service can be good and at other times I can be abysmal.

Be better off going else where. For one they never have any spaces to do anything in my local Sydenham branch. Two they are very very slow. Fortunately for me they had no spaces when I went in today for a diagnostic check they wanted £49 for. So as it needed doing now I went to a local mot testing centre who not only managed to get my car looked at even though they were extremely busy they were quick friendly and professional and charged me £20.

Been trying to get a car radio fitted as a birthday present for my wife. Went into halfords in Crewe where a helpful gentleman talked me through the options, the kit needed etc. After discussion with the family decided to go ahead so phoned the store to make arrangements. 2 days of 'the fitters on a job can I take your number' later (never received a call back) or 'he's gone home he starts at 9 or 11 i cant remember' I finally got to speak to someone who took some details and said I will ring you back in 15 mins. half an hour later I finally gave up phoned a different store was answered within 10 rings (rather than the customary 5 mins) and booked the fitting. its a longer drive but probably safer.

My car failed MOT because they found some issue with my brakes and list of other problems. I took my car to another garage and it passed without any problems. I have been told that Halfords just did not want my car to pass MOT. Bunch of idiots.

Took them so long to find someone to actually start a chat with me then took them long enough to reply my query just to ask me for the product number. Then when my response got a little delayed, they ended the chat!!! This is actually unacceptable. I waited so long and yet I didn't get my query sorted.

Bought a bike from white city store. Was told bike wasn't in stock but would be delivered to store next day. Went back day after to pick the bike up to be told no one had the time to get it just yet. Finally got the bike was given free accessories because of the issues. Bike is great but needed brakes tightening up so wasn't built the best.

Paid a deposit of £50 for a new Carrera TDF road bike instore at Slough for it to be delivered on 24/7/12 so thought it was a good deal RRP £499 down to £299 saving of £200. Was horrified to see on the website RRP £349 down to £299 saving of £50. Queried this with Halfords who really couldn't be bothered. Promise of a phone call back from the store manager who blatantly ignored the request so it goes to show that whatever you see in store is all a clever marketing ploy to show the customer a great saving and to get them to part with their cash. Can't wait to go back to the store tonight to get my deposit back
