I originally gave them five stars. This is now one star,as I have been waiting over two weeks to have my car serviced, moted, and gear cables fitted. Cables now done, but service and mot,not done yet,and I have to do all the chasing,as they don't let me know how it's going Bye Halfords !

I got Halfords of Spalding to fit a reversing camera to my car. The work was carried out under a tented cover in the carpark, which is operated by Euro Car Parks. Maximum time allowed in said car park is 3 hours. The tradesman carrying out the work assured me it would take a maximum of 2.5 hours. After 2.5 hours the work was not finished, so I spoke to 3 members of Halfords staff of my worry re going over the 3 hours allowed in the car park. All 3 assured me it would not be a problem and they would contact Euro Car Parks if they exceeded the 3 hours, and get any fine cancelled. Work completed I went on my merry way. Some days later I received notification from Euro Car Parks of a £100 fine for breaking the 3 hour car parking limit. I phoned Halfords head office several times, and told them the complete story. I instructed them to get the fine cancelled and supply a full apology for the distress caused. I had to make 3 calls to Halfords head office, and sorry to say THEY WERE UTTERLY USELESS, and their in store staff are totally incompetent, 😡 I also had to write to Euro Car Parks appeals office, in an attempt to have the fine removed myself, as at today, no response. Today, some 5 days after the fine arrived with me I have managed to obtain a copy of an Email, between Halfords and Euro Car Parks, which cancelled the £100 fine. Halfords had in their possession the cancellation Email for 4 days before I dragged it out of them. Halfords have caused me a great deal of stress, and still haven't apologised. My advice to anyone considering work to their vehicle at Halfords is DON'T.

Halfords pricing has never been what you could call competitive, and their staff can rarely be accused of being knowledgable, but where they did score was with their opening hours and a reasonable trade discount once you've jumped thru the hoops to get a trade card. Recently however they have slashed the trade discount to virtually nothing, this results in their trade pricing now being significantly higher that any competitors retail pricing! Simply ludicrous, fine they clearly no longer want my business so I'll take it elsewhere, the only advantage they have left is long opening hours but at the price of their parts even with the now miniscule so called trade discount they can only be considered in cases of dire emergency.... and then then likely won't have the part you need anyway. A perfect example for all business students of how to drive customers away straight into the welcoming arms of your competitors!

What a waste of space they are! They can't even be bothered to provide you with a receipt when you spend over £120 online.

Minus 10 for these clowns. Booked and paid for home battery fitting. Acknowledged and money taken confirmed in email. the conflicting texts/emails confusing but not cancelling order. check progress and said all was on schedule. they tied to contact me at 6.30am and complains I was not available. gave me a number to call but no one to talk to and my situation was not on the list of choices. Phoned did get hold of someone, after they cut me off the first time. She said appointment cancelled . Why did they not inform me? Still showing was going ahead. rescheduled Sunday, Why not Saturday? Holiday £700. now have to cancelled. Solicitors on the case.

Purchased a bike for my kid from Halfords Enfield store (Order Number: 2234765087), noticed the brakes weren’t adjusted correctly after first use, so had to take it back in to store the following week, I also logged a complaint (Case reference: 00788907). Upon 2nd use of the bike, i noticed that the tyres weren’t straight this time round and was getting caught with the brakes again, making very noticeable loud noise, so had to take it back again for the 2nd time. Staff said this is normal for a bike of that sort, due to the plastic frame apparently. Nonetheless, asked for a refund. A waste of time and energy, and why is Halfords even selling products with known defects? such as with this particular bike. Also the store didn’t agree to refund me for the assembling cost, which although it was £10 only, I expected from such reputable brand to be more considerate and understanding of the poor experience i’ve endured with this purchase, and have the decency to empathise and not shamelessly charge me instead, and to compensate for my distress and inconvenience.

"I bought a Yuasa L6-AGM leisure battery for £250 from Halfords roughly two years ago. The battery was performing fine initially, but recently it has needed charging more frequently as it seems to be losing its charge. Since the battery was relatively new, I had the alternator checked, and it’s working perfectly. When I returned to Halfords, they couldn't find a record of the sale because they only keep data for two years. They also inspected the battery and claimed it wouldn't be covered under warranty anyway. Now I’m stuck with a brand-new-looking battery that is essentially worthless."

As you have not contacted me since my google review I will leave a poor review EVERY month until you do so so others do not have to suffer with your incompetence as I have. Formal Complaint: Service Failures and Safety Concerns To the Regional Manager, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a recent service at your Horsham branch. As an IMI accredited engineer with over 40 years of experience in the motor trade, I am deeply concerned by the lack of professional oversight, the inaccuracy of the records provided, and the disregard for standard safety procedures. Timeline of Events: Check-in: I dropped off my vehicle on Friday afternoon for a scheduled Saturday morning start. The keys were handed directly to the branch manager. Delay & Lack of Record: By Saturday afternoon—20 hours later—my vehicle’s GPS tracker confirmed it had not moved. Upon calling, I was informed that the branch had no record of the vehicle even arriving, despite me handing the keys to the manager personally. The "Service": I was promised two technicians would begin work immediately. Only one hour later, I was notified that a "Full Service" had been completed. As a professional in this industry, I find it highly improbable that a comprehensive full service was performed to standard within that timeframe. Verification Failures: At collection, I was assured a post-service road test had been performed. This was demonstrably false. Both the vehicle’s GPS tracker and the zeroed trip meter confirmed the car never left the premises. Mechanical Oversight: Consequently, an audible noise from the off-side rear brake shoe went undetected—an issue that would have been immediately flagged during a legitimate road test. Furthermore, the service book was left unstamped and tyre dust caps were missing. Current Status: I was promised a follow-up call early this week to rectify the brake issue. Five days have passed without contact. While I am more than capable of rectifying these mechanical issues myself, I have paid £300 for a professional service that was, by all evidence, bypassed or handled with extreme negligence. Given the falsification of the road test and the failure to complete the basic administrative and mechanical requirements of a Full Service, I request a full review of this incident and an explanation as to why safety-critical steps like the road test were recorded as complete when they were not.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Halfords mobile tyre fitter. I had 2 new tyres fitted by their mobile service, and they damaged both of my wheels during the fitting. What should have been a simple job turned into over 2 and a half months of stress, chasing, and inconvenience. The first company they sent out to repair the damage was completely useless and couldn’t fix the wheels at all — costing me a full day of annual leave for nothing. Only after more delays I had to find a second company, who eventually repaired the two damaged wheels. However, that wasn’t the end of it. The repaired wheels wouldn't match the black to the others, meaning I had to spend £204 of my own money to get the remaining two wheels done so they matched. This was entirely caused by Halfords’ mistake. To top it off, there was zero apology, zero accountability, and no follow-up whatsoever after the issue was “resolved”. This level of service is shocking. Damage caused, time wasted, money lost, and not even a basic apology. Avoid Halfords mobile tyre fitting at all costs. I will never use them again.

What a joke the mobile fitting service is. Appointment made for between 8 & 12 which you can supposedly track on line. No one turned up. Called and was told the technician was running late. Still no one came. Called again and after waiting on the phone forever was told the technician had actually turned up before we called the first time when were told he was running late. Ring door bell says otherwise. Asked to speak to a manager to be told that there is only one and he had just gone on his 1 hours break. No call back and they aren't answering the phone. They want £40 cancellation fee for their mess. Advice is don't use them. Look at the other trust pilot reviews for mobile fitting. Wish I had! Customer service is non existent

The bike was ok, but the battery started to weaken after just a few months. That's not ok. Members of staff also didn't keep business to customer privacy rules. They act like they don't need to money and job!

Some time ago when delivery charges for just about everything ordered online were rising, I decided to start using my local Halfords store for smaller cycling items like lubricants, bike cleaner and bike accessories. I didn’t mind walking a couple of miles to my local store at Sixfields Northampton if it meant saving on delivery charges and in addition I was able to take advantage of the 7% discount afforded to members of CyclingUK. All in all, the prices I paid for my orders seemed better than getting them online. Sadly, over the last year or so I’ve found the service I received from this store to be completely unacceptable – it’s basically half-arsed ! My latest order for three identical pairs of Shimano cycling cleats was a fiasco. I ordered my cleats around the 10th of May and expected the delivery about a week later according to the Halfords email. Several days after the estimated collection date I received the email confirming that my order was finally in their store ready for collection. I made my way to Halfords, Sixfields on foot the next day and presented the staff with my order number which I had received on both text and email from Halfords. On a regular basis when presenting my order number, I instantly have no confidence that the staff are going to be able to locate my order. It’s like you’ve just given them some random encrypted information and not one of their own order numbers. The first person I speak to usually has to get a second member of staff involved by calling them on their headset to locate simple orders which seem to be in one of two cupboards. One for motoring orders and one for cycling orders. Despite this simple arrangement they seem incapable of locating many of my orders and this latest order was no exception. Two assistants soon became three, all scratching their heads about my ‘Shimoono’, ‘Shimany’ clips! The third member of staff now involved in this hunt for a basic order then walked away from the front desk and returned with one pair of cleats which I suspect he may have just pulled off the store display. My own personal order was clearly nowhere to be seen and they just decided to cobble together the items from what they had in store instead. I reiterated that I had ordered three identical pairs. The same assistant disappeared again and returned with a second pair of cleats in hand. At this point another assistant, busy on the ordering system told me that this is all they had in stock of my confirmed click and collect order and that I would need to return to the store at a later date for the remaining pair of cleats. Remarkably, this is the level of service that I’ve experienced from ‘the UK’s leading cycle retailer’ on a regular basis. The service is inept and done without care or any effort. The attention to the customer is appalling to say the least. They don’t seem to be able to get the basics of retail ordering right. It’s the simplest of processes. I order, pay for it and you – Halfords deliver the goods to me having confirmed that you have got them. But they seem incapable of doing so on regular occasions. Halfords have now had my custom for the last time. I’ll go elsewhere for my cycling products in future. Somewhere more reliable who cares more for their customers and can deliver the goods which I’ve paid for.

I booked my car in for the half hour 10 pont health check specifically for 12.30pm. I was told there was no one available to do the health check when I got there. I could leave it all day and it would get done if there was someone. I had not come prepared to leave my car as I was going to wait the half hour there. I was told to bring it back the next day, I In fact went somewhere else where it was done there and then as I had a query on one of my tyres I needed it done ASAP.. So Halfords what is the point of making appt times when you have no intention to honouring them. The last time I ever use you. This was Halfords Ripon Rd HARROGATE.

Never order online with them. Read below before you even think about it. Just ordered oil and air filter. The Halfords page auto loaded my old address(you have to sign in if you've ever shopped with them online previously). Noticed the mistake immediately. Rang there customer services who said you can't cancel orders once they are in. 1 HR on hold to be told it might be possible to ask DHL. Rang DHL who advised they can't take changes from anyone but Halfords. Call back customer service at Halfords who suggested after another 20 min using web chat. Web chat.- 30 min wait to get to the front of the queue. Then they said they would take 7 working days to 'consider my request for a refund or address amendment '!! I now await a call from them at some point in the next 2 weeks to be advised of their 'decision'. Unbelievable that in these online days they act like a piria state. Please note EuroCar Parts offer a no quibble refund/cancellation on all online orders processed within 3 working days with comparable prices. I warn you never to shop online with Halfords.

I took my car in for the 10 Point safety check, upon collection I was told that I had over £1,000 worth of defective items which needed attending to. This included four new tires, brake pads and brake discs. I subsequently took the car to two other garages to have everything checked and was told that there was nothing wrong with the car and the tires were fit for at least another year. They are a bunch of cowboys who want money for nothing-I would like to award them no stars but the facility is lacking. You have been warned!

Took my son's bike in on the morning off 10/04/26 as booked. Agreed with staff a replacement brake cable was required and paid for the cable and the fitting and left the bike as requested. The staff member informed me I would be contacted that afternoon to confirm the collection time later that day. Today is 12/04/26, I haven't had a call and the St Margaret's Way Leicester store telephone just rings out. Customer service has informed me they will need 7 days to progress any issues. I'm now in the position of wasting my time and fuel to drive to the store to enquire if they have actually done the work they promised and hoping my son will have a bike to go to school on tomorrow.
