Went to the Sellyoak branch of Halfords and bought a bike for my son voodco monster.£800.00.paid. There was slight vibration in the peddling and not all the gears was working as they should. Asked to tale the bike and return two days after to correct the small issues. Two days further review of the faults, and was told the main wheel on the gears was slightly bent and that the part had to he ordered but would not be delivered for two weeks. Another appointment and was asked to take the bike back home. Two weeks returned to Halfords told the part was there but the fitter was away ill and only he could fit the part and ask to wait an to be informed when fitter would return, after calling every week for two weeks asked to come in again with the bike an was told the part was the wrong part and that the fitter would contact me when the right part was located.I gave up and took the bike to another place to be repaired paying an extra £60. Lets just say i would never go into Halfords again, not in two lifetimes. I could never recommend that company to anyone and would strongly advise potential customers to regard taking business to Halfords as a last resort. If you can go to timboktu chances are you’ll get better service.👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Terrible taken my bike in for service get email all fixed went to collect flat tier still ok fixed that go out side with bike still not fixed the problem with bike after charging me nearly 90 euros and a lot of stress get a phone call saying they can’t get the part to fix it so why service a bike if you don’t have the parts or can not require them for the bike a total rip off now I have to take it to a proper repair shop shocking

After my big disappointment with my experience at Hendon branch auto centre (failed the MOT cost me arm and leg, unnecessary changed of brakes and pads- prior to MOT I had 10 points car check, brake was no issue). I returned to the auto centre on the 5th April to let them know the reverse light was not working. Prior to this on the 18th of March results of 10 point check ,I was advised to take my car to auto centre to fix the reverse light and top up the coolant just to ensure what colour the coolant , blue or pink. I patiently waited 1.5 hour to be told all was done by Jason, he was brilliant and very helpful. Prior, on the 18th of March , I went to the store to book the MOT (booked 30th March), a kind approachable guy Hattif checked my car reverse light as I was confused that only one reverse light seemed working. Hattif ensured that only one will show as most of the models do. So I knew very well the the reverse light was working prior to MOT. I collected my car on the 1st April .I only use my car once a week. On the 3rd of April I decided to check the reverse light to my surprised it was not working. So, I took the car on the 5th April and spoke to Brendon. He was not helpful. He said it was not in their system the reverse light was fixed and I was not charged. If I want they can do that will book and has to collect next week ( Easter break). So really disappointed, went to the store. I was so happy to see Hattif as he knew the reverse light was fixed prior to auto centre failed MOT correction. He was already finished his shift but he knew I was upset. He went extra miles to help me. I would give him 5 stars for his customer dedications and highly recommend for him to be given employee of the month. Luvis

Called customer service to book three annual bike services. Arrived at branch to deliver bikes and was told the appointments were only for a review prior to service. I would need to collect the bikes and book an annual service only to return with the bikes at a later date. The branch was unable to retain bikes, as service slots were fully booked and they did not have storage. Telephoned customer services to complain and was told a 72 hour reply time was standard service standard. Agreed for a call from the branch manager and they have not replied. Branch have since called, stating my bikes must be picked up and they will not perform the annual service prior to collection. They confirmed to me that customer services always get it wrong! I have raised a complaint and no response received. I recommend customers do not purchase service contracts, as Halfords cannot administer these.

Called ahead to ask if they fitted headlamp bulbs - they said yes. Travelled 35 mins to get it fixed only to be told they wouldn’t fix it. Asked for a refund receipt but they didn’t know how to so I was asked to talk to the manager. He was with another customer and I waited for 20 mins for him to produce my refund.

Just ordered a bike part on click and collect. I was in the store within 20 minutes of getting notification that order was ready. When I got there no sign of the order. After 15 minutes the guys in the store gave up. Someone remembered picking the order but nobody had the faintest idea where it was. And of course it was the last one. Had to drive to another shop to get what I wanted. Another hour of life wasted. To top it off I’ve been refunded with a virtual gift card that I really don’t want to waste my time using.

Booked my car in for 14.30 for four tyres and tracking at Scarborough branch. Took time off work to get the car there and wait for work to be done. Car eventually was took into the garage at 15.45 by a youth who did not put seat covers or floor papers down and subsequently my interior was oily and soiled. Then he could not drive it ?? Eventually got it onto the lift, managed to break a brake pipe above the fuel tank although it was rotten its amazing how it happens when someone else drives it. Sorry mate your pipes burst was the reply, so when can you fix it? oh we will have to get back to you on that they are a right job to do was the reply, so car undrivable now. Well change the tyres then? yes no problem. So 2 lads changed the tyres and did the works on them and fitted the longest valve stems i have ever seen on a 4x4, great if i go in deep mud now they will catch everything in sight. Steering wheel still not straight when driving down the road. The car did stay in the garage overnight as i could not drive it home so had to get a lift home, then my mechanic came out Saturday morning to recover vehicle. Overall a bad and very unprofessional experience although the tyres were the cheapest anywhere i would never use Halfords Garages again or recommend them to anybody.

Second time I’ve used Halfords services and been disappointed. Firstly a dashcam fitting which never worked, and now a number plate where they could not supply one in store with the ‘standard’ UK and flag on the left of the plate, only plain one. They would have to order it in. Order it in? Are we not in the UK?!! Ordered online (DVLA approved) £5 less and arriving tomorrow. Sorry Halfords, just not good enough.

What a horrible horrible brand. Took bike in for a full silver service to the Chiswick store. Not holding my breath because last time they serviced it the gears didn't work properly. So obviously not checked. This time as soon as out on the street I can tell the gears aren't working correctly for a second time! The next day I take it somewhere else to get the gears tuned properly, and they say they can't believe what they've done. There are loose nuts on my rear derailer and it's bent. Unbelievable safety issue here. Halfords also put a brand new chain on, but they hadn't even put the chain clip on the right way. The second shop corrected this for me. I could have taken the bike back but what's the point? I've had a new derailer fitted by the new shop, I dont have the energy to argue with Halfords. The people there don't know what they are doing. Shan't be back, that is for sure. Update: (22-02-2023). Halfords has been in contact to ask for my details so they can contact me. I provided them immediately thinking I would have a constructive conversation. Ten days go by and still no word. Still a very poor company I take it? Update: (09-03-2023) Received a phone call from Magit on the 24th of Feb about what is contained above, not sure if that is his first name or last name because he refused to let me know how to address him. He told me he is the manager at Halfords, the Chiswick branch, and he wanted to discuss the issues I have been having. I said I am glad you have phoned because I wanted to discuss the damage my bike received during the service mentioned above. And was willing to talk about the other issues I have experienced. I noticed the damage when I first got the bike home after Halfords Silver Service, but forgot to mention it above. This is the service that is the second most expensive service and is carried out once a year. The one where you don’t expect to have issues like I have been having, at Halfords, the Chiswick branch. During the service the amateur bike mechanic at Halfords, Chiswick branch, has rounded the inside of my front axle bolt and all the thread had been taken off. I have a photo of this if requested. For comparison, I have another image of the very same part of my bike, from when I first got it in 2022 and realised there was a scratch above where it says Torque. Another issue discussed elsewhere. Again I provide both of these images. Anyway, Magit?? and I made an agreement that he would be in store at 2pm on the 9th of March. He said he would put the appointment in his calendar because he was concerned about how I had been treated at his store in Chiswick. He said he would phone me or email me if there were any problems with this, and I said I would do the same. He wanted to get to the bottom of why my bike had been damaged. He said he wanted to check the condition of the bolt that had been damaged when I had brought it in for a service. Today, the 9th of March, the day Magit and I are supposed to meet, I spend half an hour travelling out of my work day to Halfords and arrive five minutes early. At the Halfords Chiswick branch, where Magit is the store manager, I ask one of the staff if he is available and they tell me he is on leave. Obviously Magit, the manager at Halfords Chiswick isn’t interested in solving the problems I have had at his branch and thinks me wasting my time is something I don’t mind doing. The bottom line here, at Halfords, is they have sold me a bike with a scratch on it, and then proceed to continue to damage my bike when it is brought in for a service. Not including all the other things that have happened, see above. I’m continued to be shocked when I think about the brand Halfords and how big it is, but how terrible they are at providing safe bikes, let alone customer service. I’m equally dismayed about how Chris Boardman must continue to feel that his name is on a lot of the bikes sold at these incompetent shops. I will await your call Magit, manager, at Halfords, Chiswick branch. A brand given the opportunity to make things right and they still cant even provide that. Still a horrible horrible brand.

Do not trust Halfords review section the reviews are filtered and they must only let a very small percentage of negative reviews through. I have had my negative review refused publishing three times and I have altered the review every time and every time it is refused. There is no bad language, hate or threatening language which would explain the refusal its just a calm and detailed review. They've promised to call back regarding my complaint which they haven't they've ignored emails and read messages via messanger but not replied. So in case you are one of the unlucky ones and your purchase isn't up to scratch do yourself a massive favour and try elsewhere.

At Halfords invitation I wrote a review on their website entitled "Good product. Rotten service". They refused to publish it on the grounds that it "did not meet all our website guidelines". Enough said.

Bought a new bicycle for my grand daughters birthday, on getting it home I noticed mud ingrained in the tyres which made me suspect i'd been sold a used bike, rang customer services who promised a call back, didn't happen. the second person I spoke to may as well have been a recorded message he just kept repeating the same thing. decided it was too close to my grand daughters birthday to do anything about it. Be warned Halfords customer services are useless and as far as I can tell I was sold a used bicycle as new.

Booked a mobile battery fitting for my car . Paid £120 . Technician did not show . Phoned Halfords to be told no job order on their system , yet I have an email for proof of order . Then told it was a system malfunction and I need to phone the bank to challenge the payment as they could not see that on their system either. The payment is is on statement ! They wasted 3 hours of my time and no refund as of yet ! Will NEVER use again

Hi guys got 2 bulbs fitted ,but obviously they never fitted on in properly and now bulb keeps falling as they had not put the clip on .They won't accept responsibility but are quick blame to its the roads and my driving , if the clip had been secure like the one on the passenger side this would never happened. They now want me to buy a headlight after the problems they have caused me costing £600+. They are f***in crooks not to be trusted . This was in the Rutherglen branch

Purchased an e bike over a year ago, there were lots of issues with it, trips back to store, missed work days, I purchased a brand new battery that arrived and doesn't hold its power. They don't answer the phone, you end up arguing with a customer service team the other side of the country. The staff do not care they take weeks to resolve problems you don't get any money back for time wasted it's a bad retailer who doesn't care after they have their money I regret buying a bike from halfords it was a mistake

DO NOT JOIN HALFORDS MOTORING CLUB!!! IT IS UNCANCELLABLE! It auto renews and charges monthly / annually and only allow you a small window of a matter of weeks to cancel your subscription for the whole year! When I challenged the call centre agent the first thing they said was "it was stated in the TnCs which you had to tick to say you've agreed to" various court rulings on this type of sneaky term enforcement, look up some case law: inconsistent terms and conditions - wherever TnCs are non standard (I.e giving ridiculous windows to cancel annual subscriptions) courts will rule any non standard conditions DO NOT APPLY!!! INFURIATES me when companies try to manipulate customers like this. They are fully aware a huge majority will want to cancel so make it unnecessarily difficult in the hope you'll forget and they'll bill you forever. Wasted 45 minutes of my life trying to cancel and it's still active. Go elsewhere people, I had an eye opening experience on my most recent visit to auto centre - charging dealer prices but giving gypsy garage service. Absolute swindlers!

Worst customer experience of my life. Booked in for a roof box fitting. Nobody was aware that I was coming, even though id booked online weeks ago. Then i was asked to park on the pavement between two tight bollards outside the front of the shop (is this even legal to have vehicles driving onto a pavement outside of a busy shop front in the snow? It seems like a crazy health and safety issue to me, as it is designed as a public highway). Then the person who was installing the bars and roofbox said he was unaware it was required on the day and didnt know if he had the parts (asked if I had them) and then said he didnt have the staff to do the work, as if it was my fault for bringing it in. I mentioned i had booked weeks ago, then was told "we dont look at the diary that far in advance". Then when i came back two hours later for handover, i was informed the boot of the car hit the roofbox when it opened but that's "just the way it is". Even though i researched the roofbars and box and the models are compatible with the car. I asked if the box could be slid forward to avoid the boot and was told it would take too long to do on the day and would need to booked back in. Then i asked for all the manuals and spare parts and was told some had "gone missing" during the installation, and "that's Sundays for you". But not to worry as would try get me another "for free". Its not really free when I've already paid for the parts and a Halfords member of staff has lost it during installation. Then when leaving the tight bollard space due to the narrow width of the pavement (which isn't designed for vehicles) when pulling out of it, the corner of my car has been dented by the bollard due to the tightness, you can imagine how frustrated I was by this point. Halfords then got in touch and promised to pay for the repair to the car. I have it in writing from both the Durham manager and the customer experience representative, I then went and got the car repaired, sent over the invoice and they then refused to pay for the work as I was driving the vehicle. They fully backtracked on their promise which I find appalling and will be taking further. What a disgraceful establishment.
