“I have complained about this company before and yet again I feel I should write to warn people of the quality of plants and service. I had 3 deliveries from Evri ( who have a terrible name ). Two of the three I was told they would be delivered on a certain day and they were delivered the day before and left on the doorstep for all to see. They have a website where you can instruct them where to leave the plants. Once I managed to input the information of where to leave the plants which was ignored. On the other two occasions the site said ""error " each time I tried to change the dates of delivery. Hayloft give the option to advise them dates to avoid when ordering and as we were away on holiday I used this. While away I was notified of the delivery and not being able to contact Evri, I emailed Hayloft and 10 DAYS LATER they replied apologising and asking if the plants were OK. They are still small and I doubt that they will make any show. They now say it can take 7-10 days to reply to emails, which is a disgrace for any company. Today's delivery was from another company and on time that is where the satisfaction finishes. I ordered a collection of 3 Alstromeria young plants in 9cm pots. The condition of two of them were disgusting ( I would have loved to include a picture ). One was less than 10mm high and the leaves were White, which usually means they have been bleached in the sun, one resembled a 9" stick with two leaves sprouting from the top. The third was what I'd expected. As if that was bad enough the collection were 3 different colours and they couldn't be bothered to put stickers on them, so I have no way to differentiate between them and as I have colour schemes in the garden this is most annoying and most unprofessional.”

“I spent £181 and was absolutely shocked When the plants arrived. They were NOT young plants, they were certainly plug plants. Half dead and not doing much better now after nearly 2 weeks. We have nurtured them, fed them, but they have not grown any bigger. We also purchased about £600 of plants from Botany Bay Nursery, young plants, delivered the same day. They are thriving. You may as well put your money down the drain!!! Have now unsubscribed.WASTE OF MONEY!!!”

“MORE STYLE THAN SUBSTANCE I am still waiting for a successful conclusion to my issue of non thriving violas ( really) I have been offered £10 for an order that was over £40 including postage Who buys £40.00 violas ! SILLY ME as it seemed a solution to winter colour in my pots around my sheltered garden as I couldn't get to my usual garden centres as I had just been discharged from hospital Why or why didn't I read the reviews why was I used by the glorious brochure and photographic marketing”

“I was told my plants would be sent by a certain date. Only by enquiry I realised they still hadn’t been sent 5 days after that date. I’m still waiting!”

“I ordered 12 Delphinium plug plants, which arrived in quite good condition. Potted them on twice to larger pots so I could see the individual colours of each plant. When the first plant flowered, an adjoining shoot produced a different colour flower spike, and then I realised that they were all multi-seeded plugs, ie 2, 3 or 4 seeds germinating together in the same pot. That is a death sentence for delphiniums, causing fatal outbreaks of powdery mildew amongst the overcrowded plants living in one pot. I’m now trying to separate the individual plants, but not looking good. Hugely disappointed in Hayloft.”

“One order led to 4 separate deliveries of my plants with no warning of arrivals. Plants are all very small and need potting on so hopeless for planting out in current season. This company promises more than it delivers and I will not use again.”

“Sadly I have decided I will no longer use this company for my plants. One in three plants died. Some are very small and weak. I would rather go to a plant nursery and pick up my own plants now. Shame because I have been quite happy in the past.”

“So disappointed with them. Have been buying plants from them for over 15 years. This year the quality of the plants have been dismal, have thrown half of them away. One order didn’t contain all the plants requested with no explanation. Emailed 3 times and no response. Had to phone in the end. Will not be buying from them again.”

“Delphiniums arrived dead, woman laughed when I told her said she’d email me personally and resend, nothing arrived. When I rang again, they said I’d be sent another email plants were in stock and they’d resend, still no email confirmation and still no plants. Very disappointed with the service especially as this was from gardeners world magazine, hope the magazine won’t take or advertise this site again.”

“Again like everyone else is saying dead plants arrive past the due date and the customer service is appalling . It is against the law to keep advertising a no quibble guarantee when you can see from the reviews they quibble with everyone if you can manage to get a reply from them . Just shocking .”

“I ordered several plants across two orders, the hellebore was satisfactory, the cosmos very poor and continue not to do well, the phlox bare root plants grew but are very weak and three bareroot oriental poppies took a long, long time to shoot and have since died, I cancelled the remainder of the orders and requested a refund that was actioned straight away, I won't order again from Hayloft. The website is very tempting when seeing beautiful plants but the plants and how they arrive ( very dry and with disturbed compost ) is disappointing.”

“Ordered £70 worth of plants on 21st April. Still haven’t received them, despite assurance that they would be dispatched before 26th April. No apology or explanation apart from a generic email after over a fortnight saying that they couldn’t fulfil orders. Hopeless.”

“Ordered 3 osteospermum plants, They were very very small and when took out the box all 3 were dead. Tried to revive them but 2 weeks later still dead so had to throw them away.”

“I have been a customer for many years and spent a considerable amount of money on plants from Hayloft. Like so many people on here i have witnessed the decline of what was a fabulous on line plant supplier. It has changed hands new owners sadly this has come to late .”

“I bought agapanthus fireworks spring 20/24 . It has bloomed all summer , it's now late October ! Everyday is a absolute pleasure to see this beautiful plant still in bloom . Iv never grown this plant before ! Planning lots more space to add to this beautiful display next year . Thanks guys , agapanthus convert looking forward to planting n enjoying this amazing flower all next year . Well done”
