Holiday autos are misleading in their advertising of car categories. I've hired a Fiat Punto or similar and wheb I came to the car rental agent (Inter Rent) they gave me a choice of a Fiat Panda or Hundai i20. They don't stock a Punto at all. I've argued that these cannot possibly be in the same class, but Inter Rent were dismissive to that end. I've ended up paying for the upgrade and fuming. Upon return I've contacted Holiday Autos with this complaint and they said that it is the same category and so that's it. In my view this is a classic example of misadvertising. Sure, I should've checked small print and researched more but, as many others, I don't do this. Sucker. Misadvertising. Poor practice.

Got to location and car hire company refused to provide a car with out extra insurance, I had purchased extra insurance on the Holiday autos site at the time of booking. I refused to take the extra insurance being forced upon me by Gold Car as I had purchased extra insurance. They said this was no good,and said I had to take the insurance, I told them to cancel the car and in the end I hired a car from another provider, Holiday Autos have refused to provide a refund, My advice to anyone booking a hire car is Avoid Holiday Autos , never get a car from Goldcar go direct to a large company like SITX

I strongly dissuade everybody from booking with HolidayAutos and TopCar Autoreisen. I made the prepaid booking ES707786450 through HolidayAutos but TopCar Autoreisen did not provide the car at first and I lost much of the precious time (I only had 2.5 days of vacation) and money before I was able to get a car. Only after I started publishing this info HolidayAutos revealed the initial fault had come from TopCar Autoreisen but none of the companies provides a reasonable compensation. They are very customer-unfriendly and do not want to admit their liability for the damage they made.

Booked a car through this company, paid for 8 days rather than 7 as there were a couple of hours overlap. Paid in full but when I returned the car was charged extra by the Rental company on my credit card. After two months of contacting Holiday Autos to find out why, I'm finally told that because I wrote down a return time of 13.00hrs and I didn't get it checked back into them until 13.40hrs, because there was a queue to return and only one person serving, they were charging a late return fee. . .even though I wasn't late and had also paid for an extra day anyway! They then told me on the phone they weren't interested and it was down to me to contact the rental company to sort it out. Turns out that although I had paid Holiday Autos in full for the rental three months before, the exchange rate had fluctuated and the rental company charged me extra! however speaking with a more friendly and helpful rental company they waived the fee! My advice . . .go direct don't use these jokers!

HOL?DAY AUTOS UK: This is a cowboy outfit company. They expect me to arrive to the airport exactly same time with standart arrivel time on the ticket, even if its international flight. They cancelled the booking and shut the office because my plane was 1 hour delayed !! I paid £70 for booking + £60 for late nignt taxi fare. They said no refund but they paid £20 on their own free will!! Holiday aoutos say: SORRY, BUT TELL YOUR PILOT TO BE ON TIME ON THE AIRPORT I have a proof of email that thay say exactly this.

For my rental in Italy I showed them at the desk I had third party insurance and didn't want any extras. I was assured I wasn't signing for any extras on the unclear, mostly Italian form. Surprise surprise... on my credit card appeared an extra charge for additional insurance and I had been given no way to opt out. Unscrupulous car rental agents exist, that's part and parcel of the industry, we have little choice in that. What we do have a choice in is which agency we use. I had hoped Holiday Autos would make an effort to resolve my grievance. No attempt was made at all, thoroughly disappointed and would urge everybody to shop elsewhere.
