I went to collect my car at Glasgow airport and was told that because I had 9 points on my licence they couldn't let me take the car. I was told that I would be refunded if I contacted the company when I return. Ive just called them and they have refused to refund my payment as I should've cancelled before me pick up time. I used Eurocar and they were fine with the 9 points.

Wish I could gove this Company Zero. Cancelled booking and waiting refund - not forth coming . 40+ emails and numerous chat. So many excuses. Will now consider small claims as funds still not received.

We booked a car on Gran Canaria in September and paid the whole amount by card (about 200 EUR). When we came to the car rental desk we were asked to pay additional obligatory insurance approx 400 EUR (apart from the deposit 500 EUR) that was not mentioned when booking or on the car voucher. We tried to get refund but no chance after 40 day long investigation to our case.

Do not use this company! Our fight was delayed and when we arrived our car was already gone. They didn't care why we were late and didn't refund our money back. We had to book another car at the airport for triple of the original price. They are a sam and thieves!

I have no idea who is leaving positive reviews for this company. I can only guess it is their employees. Please check out holiday autos Facebook page. It is riddled with complaints all of similar nature's. This company is a complete scam. We rented a car through holiday autos, they are the brokers and centauro are the actual rental agency. We paid online £738. On holiday autos page it clearly states that all you need to present is a drivers licence and a credit card. Upon arrival at centauro both of these things were presented. We were told they do not accept american express. We were not offered the option to change the name on the booking so as to use a different credit card, we weren't offered a voucher. Nothing. We were simply told to contact holiday autos. We did this straight away, to be told we had to open a case online. We did this and were told we would be contacted within 3 days. We then received an email 3 days later to be told it was after the pickup time of the car so weren't being refunded anything. Obviously we phoned holiday autos. They explained they weren't aware that centauro didn't accept american express, however they still weren't refunding anything. I asked for a voucher for some of the money back in credit. I was refused. I was stone walled. I was told to open another case, I did this. Only to repeat the whole infuriating process over again. The company just plan to annoy you out of your refund and by taking no action. After this scam was pulled on us I researched the company. The Facebook page is a very interesting read. People who's flights were delayed turned up to collect cars only to be refused, people's who credit cards had their first names as initials were refused even though their licence and passports confirmed first names. This company is a complete scam. They are gangsters. Who will Rob you of your hard earned money and give nothing in return. Under consumer law in the UK this is illegal. I paid for a service I did not receive and I provided everything I was asked for. I am pursuing this legally with my lawyer. I refuse to let companies like this get away with robbing innocent people. Please do not believe one single positive review on this page. Check out their FB page where the actual public have placed their factual reviews. Stay clear!!!!!

Paid up front for airport pick up in Maderia. Arrived at desk to be told they have no booking and the booking numbers are not recognised. Went through a WhatsApp chat to be given a number to call in USA. Tried telling me i was 10 minutes late. The car rental lady just laughed at the statement. The outcome. No booking. No car. 90€ taxi ride. And a email telling me they will respond in 20 days and £500 out of pocket.

Out $1,350, no delivery of car, and hours of our life taken post vacation. Flight was delayed so we reached out before our pick up to Holiday Autos assuming (as you would expect decent business practices & standards) they would communicate to the car rental agency and find a reasonable solution. After some back and forth the final walk away was that they could not make the adjustment and I would have to rebook. The option given was they would rebook me for 4,000 dollars (original booking was 1,350). Obviously, not a reasonable option but to them with my back against the wall last minute, of course it was. When we arrived the car rental Centauro blamed Holiday Autos and that they couldn't do anything. Holiday Autos claims we did a no show however we contacted ahead of time and did our due diligence to rectify the situation in hopes they would be compassionate and reasonable about our delay in flight as it was out of our hands. They were not. They were ice cold. THEY DID NOT EVEN OFFER ANY CREDIT. Instead they took the 1350 and said I like money and not happy customers. Read our policy idiot (paraphrasing of course). Oh but not far off, the customer service agents were incredible rude. We are outragged that companies like this exist and will do everything we can to bring these companies to justice. For us and for the good people on this planet that deserve some value for their hard earned money. If you want to book with a company that has your back then look elsewhere. Holiday Autos will blame the other guy, take your money and look away. We are now spending countless hours post vacation.

Absolutely awful company. Booked via them and when I arrived to the supplier, my reservation was frozen by Holiday Autos and I had to call them to activate the reservation (seriously??). The supplier ran out of the car I reserved because my reservation was as previously mentioned frozen. Via phone the Holiday Auto rep promised to refund the upgraded auto cost. Had to pay 2 times more at the supplier at 23 o'clock or I'd be stuck in opposite side of the island where my hotel was. After returning the car I lodged the refnd request as per instruction and thought that all was well. Never heard from them or received anything back (presumed it went through because they had my details) only to find out much much later that they closed the case without informing me of this. Contacted customer service chat (see picture) where there rep said that they never did anything (insert implied corona excuse). The next day I received an email from them, first time ever btw, where they said sorry been too long. So essentially they waited for time to run out from the beginning. In retrospect I should have chased them 24/7, I but did not even dream it was something I needed to do. Would not recommend.

Cancelled my car rental made through holiday autos on 15th March and still waiting for my money. Continually used delaying tactics. Told initially it could 10 working days, then 20 days then by may 31st. We shall see. Notice that you can still book a car with them and the shortage of staff does not stop them taking money off you for a new booking only when the need to give the money back.

Having used Holiday Autos countless times over 20 years or so, it disappoints me greatly to write a negative review and to henceforth take my business elsewhere. This is due to a small clause in HA T&C’s which states that, in order to decline the 'fully insured' package at the rental desk, a credit card in the renters name must be presented. But wait … This, I hear you say, is all fair and square. Of course a credit card in the renters name is required, it always has been and I have used the same card (or iterations thereof) without issue all over the world. The difference here is that HA have sneakily included the requirement for the credit card to contain the FIRST and SECOND names of the renter. No longer will a card with just your initials and surname be accepted for the purposes of paying a security deposit in lieu of buying the rental companies costly and ‘optional’ insurance. This renders the option of declining their insurance impossible. The very same credit card (yes, the one without the full name) would happily have been accepted to buy the costly and ‘optional’ insurance, which suggests that this has been done in the knowledge that most people's cards by default have only initials and therefore they will be left with no option than to stump up for extra insurance, regardless of whether it is required, wanted or not. In this situation I was refused the car, leaving myself, my disabled 85 y.o. father, disabled son, wife and luggage stranded several miles from the airport. It should be noted that other car rental providers DO NOT have this requirement, so I was able to re-rent with another company (where, as it happens, the exact same rental was also available to book via HA but with this nonsensical clause). HA have stuck firm with the T&C's mantra and have declined a refund for the rental. The net effect being that I thank you Holiday Autos for 20 years and thousands of pounds of rentals... But now it's time for me and anyone I can encourage to move on elsewhere … and all for the sake of a paltry £37. And yes, I withheld from writing this review until Holiday Autos had been given the full opportunity to review the case.

SCAM. Absolutly horrible experience. First time renting a car and never want to again. They required a £2505 credit card deposit which is almost unheard of in the industry. My mum has rented hundreds of cars at this point and has never had to have a deposit over 1k. They also told me on arrival i couldn’t do over 100 miles a day. My credit card unfortuently did not have the limit they required and gave me little other option so was left without a card and have recieved NO REFUND. Including for the extra insurnace i payed (£45) - they wont refund either. On top of it all the lady on reception was quite cold and rude to me. I created an account on here literally just to warn people about this company. Do not rent here ever!

The rental company invoked on of the conditions of booking on page 3 of the paper print out, namely if you don’t turn up at the time you give them they can cancel the policy without any refund even though our flight details were on the booking! Not surprising they had a solution ….pay €265 extra and have an upgrade the keys for this car were on the desk ready as they know they have you trapped. I will never use Holiday Autos again, total rip off company.

Prefer to give zero stars. Terrible experience when I tried to change booking date within one hour of making the initial reservation. No phone number available, only chat option. Got booking date almost changed and then got disconnected. Got on second chat with another representative who charged me $50 rebooking fee and an additional charge much higher than the first quote. It took over three hours to sort out change and get into a rental car. Drove off in a car that had a tire pressure warning light on. Once I completed the trip, I found a number and called holiday autos and they would not refund excess charges or the rebooking fee. Will never rent from them again! Deceptive advertising and terrible customer service!

We (4 of us) booked a car with Delpaso via Holiday Autos. Upon arrival I was asked for my credit card which I provided. (This was the same credit card I used to purchase the car hire.) I was then told that I need to provide a credit card that does not have my first name with an abbreviation, in other words my full first name and surname must be present. However my credit card as like most people's credit card, only has their surname in full and initials for their first name. Delpaso said they could not rent the car to me without a credit card with the full names not abbreviated. After arguing with them and one of Delpaso's colleagues giggling in the background, I contacted Holiday Autos to see if they could resolve this. After speaking with an arrogant lady, I was told they could not help either. As it was already late in the evening I offered my Debit Card to Delpaso to take payment to which they refused. They also refused the credit cards of the 3 other people whom were travelling with me. This was clearly a scam as never have I or my friends ever heard of such a pathetic excuse for refusing car hire. In the end, we had no choice but to rent a car from another reputable car hire company and pay 4 times the amount. To top it off, while we were there, 2 other people were refused their car rental unless they paid an additional insurance charge which they had already paid with Holiday Autos, which now meant their car rental doubled in price. Clearly both these two companies are in cahoots in conning people out of their money, so I suggest you avoid them like the plague!!!

Holiday Autos booked us with Sicily By Car who completely botched my reservation. Our car wasn’t ready. They claimed a flat tire. Then they refused me because my recently renewed license was less than 3 years old and I couldn’t prove I had been a driver for 45 years (I’m 67)! When I tried to switch the reservation to my friend, I was as told it had expired while we were there and now there was nothing they could not change it was possibly to change the name on it. My friend would have made a new “same day” reservation, but we would be charged another €500 !!! So I called Holiday Autos who said THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE DONE! All they did was apologize for my Catch-22, but stated “their hands were tied.” If you use them and there’s a problem with the rental car company, don’t expect them to advocate for you! They’ll just apologize and the agent will say there‘’s “no one they can escalate to!”

Holiday Autos neglected the bad service of their partner company: After booking with Holiday Autos, I received emails from the rental car company instructing me to proceed with the 'Save time at pick-up' process, which involved validating my driver's license and selecting the desired car model. I completed these steps without encountering any issues. Upon my arrival in Las Vegas, however, I was informed that I was on a block list by SIXT, the rental car company. Unfortunately, the SIXT employee at the airport was unable to provide any explanation or assistance regarding the situation. They mentioned that even if I were to contact Customer Service, it would take at least 48 hours to resolve the issue according to their system protocol. Left with no other options, I had to book a car from a different company on the same day, which ended up costing me three times more than originally planned. I attempted to resolve the issue with Holiday Autos; however, they don't feel responsible for the unfavorable treatment I received from their partner company. Despite this, I am continuing to communicate with Holiday Autos via email in hopes of finding a resolution and recovering the additional expenses I incurred.

Do not trust this company. I booked a car using their service and also paid for additional money for their advertised insurance partner alliance. When I collected the vehicle from Europcar, they would not accept the insurance and insisted I used theirs at an additional $50 per day. I booked the car from Manchester Airport with Drop off at Lincoln Town - this was clear on the booking - there were no disclaimers in the small print. When I dropped the car off I was charged an additional fee for premium pick up at Manchester and a huge charge for dropping off at a different locations. Additional fees were $600. In total 4 days car hire went from less than $400 to +$1000 (small car). When I contacted Holiday Autos for assistance they basically say hard luck. Don't go near them. Would have give no stars but the system does not allow this

No car and wrong location! Wish I had read the other reviews… scam company acting as a broker working with reputable known names. PLEASE do NOT use this company. Have opened a claim but have already been told I won’t get my money back- not even the tax paid which is illegal. I will post again…. But as sure as they caused me huge stress and anxiety they don’t give a dam, they got my money and very nearly ruined our trip. Thank the universe for an extremely helpful lady at a reputable company who was so kind. Still cost us £££ but at least we weren’t stranded. Holiday Autos should be shut down.
