“We have been attending Broadstairs Folk Festival for over 20 years with our extended family and have rented properties in both Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Our experiences have been very favourable until this year when we rented Wrotham House from 8-15 August. We got in early on Friday afternoon which was great but then had difficulties with the keys. Only one of our group could open the front door. We were a group of 6 adults, so one person had to stay in to let others in and out. We had to reschedule our plans which included entrance to bands we’d booked. The following day the owner had arranged for his maintenance guy to come and see if he could sort things. He had no luck with the keys either and so called in a locksmith. He adjusted the lock so the keys we’d been given worked and said the lock hadn’t been fitted properly. Again we had to reschedule our plans for Saturday, some again missing pre-booked venues. For the past 4 weeks we have tried to speak to someone about this situation. We are asking for compensation for our inconvenience. Please respond.”

“I loved that the rooms, the lay out and the spaciousness of the cottage as it made it easy for my Dad to navigate around with his stroller. A room on the ground floor is a must in ALL cottages for people who are not all physically enabled. Well done to the owners on this last plus point.”

“Penny’s Place St Ives is in a good location. There is plenty of kitchen accessories. Washer dryer which although washer worked fine the dryer didn’t appear to work Unfortunately on arrival the bathroom was not as clean as expected. There was hair in the bath, faeces on toilet bowl and urine on towel radiator. My husband cleaned it himself as it smelled awful. We did stay here in February and it was much cleaner. Pet friendly so that’s good”

“The Coach House is located in a small village in a beautiful part of the country. It sits alongside the house of the owners' John and Erna. They were generous (welcoming wine, milk, bread, butter etc, as well as free homegrown plums and plants) and helpful hosts who were always on hand without being intrusive. The property is a beautifully realised renovation of an old building. It has a kitchen/diner equipped with all you could ever need. The sitting room is cosy with a smart TV and two sofas. Upstairs there are three double rooms and a modern shower room (in addition to a second toilet downstairs). Overall it's a lovely blend of the old - with an interesting array of antiques, both inside and out - and the new, in terms of the kitchen and bathroom. There are also two outdoor seating spots adjacent to the house, as well as a huge field looking out over the countryside. We enjoyed great walks and bike rides directly from the house. The excellent Ferry Inn is a 10-15 minute walk away. Tenterden, Appledore, Dungeness, St Mary's Bay and Rye aren't far away by car. We would highly recommend this property. Liz and Mike.”

“The cottage we rented surpassed our expectations. Not your fault that there is a seven mile deathly narrow road to reach it! It freaked out my family! But my husband and I would definitely try to find future rentals from you. Plus the added help getting a cot for baby was so appreciated.”

“Glasses Farm, Grooms Cottage in Somerset was beautiful, good description on holidaycottages website. Hosts were very helpful, welcome basket was much appreciated, full of tasty treats. The cottage was a good base to visit, Taunton, Dunster Castle, Minehead and the GWR railway for a special day trip.”

“We enjoyed a wonderful break at Cedar Sunrise, the cottage has been finished to a very high standard which was very much appreciated. My Sister popped in on the Saturday as she lives in Norfolk and fell in love with it, so much that she's already booked in for next year.”

“Trevidren Cottage, Penzance. The downstairs bedroom with 1 window had a musty odour; the bedding was damp; the window was dirty; the desk was dirty and sticky with marks from drinks glasses. The bed's head board was pushed right against the cold wall underneath the window. By moving the bed away from the wall there was thick dust with old spider webbing covering the skirting board with black mould growth in the board grooves. The floor underneath the bed was covered in thick dust. I had to buy wood cleaning material to remove the filth from floor and skirting board and to eliminate the mouldy smell. Bedroom with 2 windows: Thick dust with hair and a variety of debris (including a shopping receipt) underneath this bed. Downstairs and upstairs shower rooms had an unbearable smell emitting from the water drainages which I had to sanitize. Staircase and upstairs flooring: Horrendous creaking and a nightmare to walk on. Outside seating area with view to the harbour: Nothing like what the picture wants to advertise; it was unwelcoming, table and chairs were dirty. This seating area is situated next to a garage on a large communal parking yard for the neighbouring house. Private parking: Strictly inside the white line leading to the seating area and therefore there is no space for two cars as advertised. The private parking area was full of pine needles. The other seating area was even less inviting with same dirty plastic chairs (and cigarette smoke from a smoking neighbour).”

“Easy booking experience. All instructions for property at hand. Really nice apartment, very clean and orderly. Great location and promenade close by with excellent walks. Everything easy to deal with and follow. Plenty of availability depending on where you want to holiday.”
