Home Depot in Mentor Ohio is awful for home renovation. Got new flooring and I was told they would be able to rip up my tile, when they got here they were not able to do that so they had to go over the tile and there’s a large transition between the rooms. Had cabinets resurfaced and they did an awful job, the trim was short, had a bunch of rough edges & area sticking out from the nails on the cabinets. Had someone come back out? He tried to fill in the gaps with putty and marker. Had my countertops done and doesn’t even match the sample that they showed me, not to mention it wasn’t even cut evenly. I went and did this as a bulk project. If I would’ve known what a nightmare this would’ve been, I would’ve never gone through with it. They told me that it all look exactly like what they showed me and does not. I had to return the backsplash because it clashed with the countertop seeing that it was different than they showed me. Brandon, the one who I don’t with for all of this is awful. He said trust him he’s got a college degree lol what a joke that was.

I called the store in Richland Hills Texas to rent a trencher. While I could not reserve the trencher, there was an extremely difficult process to rent the equipment because they now use Clear to do a background check on anyone renting equipment. I refused. I do not want all of my data in some nationwide database because I rented a trencher. I talked to a manager who said that there was not alternate method to rent equipment at Home Depot. So what would happen if I didnt have a smart phone. I will never use Home Depot again.

I ordered an item online from Home Depot to be delivered and didn't receive it. After one week I contacted Home Depot about the failed delivery and asked to have another shipment of the same item sent to me. Home Depot refused, and I then asked for a refund on the product, Home Depot told me I would have to bring the item into the store to get the refund. Mind you, this is an item I did not receive. When I questioned the employee about this over the phone, I was told this was policy. Now ask yourself, what is wrong with this situation? I then contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge for non-delivery. When Home Depot caught wind of this dispute, I received my product in a few days. I feel the company as a whole is bunch of cheaters trying to just get your money, and customer service just plain sucks!! If they feel they have you over a barrel, the company will take advantage of you.

I ordered online… the UPS messed up and I never received the package. I called UPS and they said Home Depot has a specific policy to not be able to make a UPS claim for their deliveries. I called Home Depot and they said UPS is responsible for shipping. I tried with my credit card provider to solve this, however after 2 months they charged me for an item that I didn’t receive.

Purchased a very nice gas stove with all of the delivery/setup/parts/haulaway for an extra $130 or so online at the Richfield UT store to be delivered to a family member there. Called customer service to make sure I had the correct zip code (the family member a few miles away, or the store- wasn't sure which to use). The CS person told me I could do the entire transaction on the phone with her, went through that whole bit of business and then it was sent to my husband's phone where it had to be approved, blah blah blah and on it went. Finally, she tells me it went through and we have a delivery date to them at the end of the month. Good, all is well, or so I thought- then, overnight I receive an email telling me all of the extra services have been cancelled (?) Called Home Depot the next day, seems there was some sort of glitch when the whole card business was done on the phone (I'm telling you, I was so careful I'm sure I didn't make a mistake, not with my bank card...). When I asked what the 'glitch' was (so I could correct it), the CS person I spoke with ran through around 5 or 6 different things it could be, but couldn't tell me which one it was (!!). To make a dreadfully long story somewhat shorter, they told me it would drop off my bank (where it was pending- how, I have no clue since it supposedly couldn't go through!) and it showed as everything had been 'cancelled' on the Home Depot website. After two days of 'pending' at my bank, I figured when I checked this morning it would be gone. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it had been PUT THROUGH to the tune of almost $1,000. This is for a transaction that had been cancelled due to a 'glitch' with my card, yet Home Depot managed to get that money....I called this morning, trying not to let it ruin my morning (coffee helped), where the CS was very nice and apologetic...told me it would be back in my bank within a few days. Wow. Just wow. I had been waiting for it to drop off the bank thinking we would use our Home Depot credit card instead, but after this? No way. I'll use our Lowe's card and get one for them there. What a mess.

Went to the Newport news store to get 10 rolls of 14/2 wire.Went up to the customer service desk and asked 2 people if I could get assistance, since the wire is locked up.I waited 20 minutes and no help.I returned to the same people and told them I would go next door to Lowes for faster service.

I purchased multiple Hampton Bay lights and have been installing them they have been fine until I needed more which I bought another 4 boxes. Spending over $300 every box there were lights that either didn't turn on or had an issue the best one (sarcastic) one started to smoke luckily I noticed because a fire could have started. When I reached out to Home Depot with my concerns sending pictures and informing what a huge safety issue and concern this was especially if I wouldn't have noticed and walked away leaving it to continue smoking all I got was a "sorry you experienced this " horrible!

I purchased 3 pails of latex-ite ultra shield driveway sealer.I do not have the receipt however I still have 2 of the pails. Finish was terrible did not cover. Daulton contacted me after seeing my review, requested photos which I sent they said the driveway had structural issues yet 3 years ago I applied the 8 year product and it finished beautifully. They want to give me 3 more pails of this garbage. I don't care for the finish want my $ back. This is an overrated underperforming product. biggest waste of time. Also I wrote a review and its not on your website. Please advise.

I am so glad that there are so many other hardware stores available. Home Depot’s level of customer service, at best, is non existent. Literally the worst retail experience I receive anywhere. I always regret when I go there thinking the experience will be different. It is constantly the worst!

SCAM ALERT: Home Depot and Citibank have a scam going with customers on their 12 months interest free offer on appliances! Purchased 3 appliances and was told if I used my Home Depot card, I could get the 12 months interest free. So I decided to do that but also had a $15 coupon they had sent me. I was never told that if I used coupon, I couldn’t get the interest free. Called store and went there twice to have the coupon taken off purchase and was told that they didn’t know that Citibank changed their terms and there was nothing they could do. I am able to pay off the appliances but feel bad for anyone else this happens to who does not have the money to pay it off. The interest rate is horrible and I was charged $70 for the one month. Needless to say both my husband and I will be closing our Home Depot accounts and will drive a little further to go to Menards!! Now I know why Menards is always more busy than Home Depot!!!

Called their "customer service" 800 # to ask a simple ?; and could have led to the purchase of thousands of $$ product......30 min of me asking the auto teller for a live person and pressing buttons. Not a single person! Not even someone that barely knows English. I'll take my buisness elsewhere.

Customer service is the worst, I purchased online a Refrigerator using a E-gift card, received email confirming the order and delivery date. The day before scheduled delivery received email stating the order had been canceled due to wrong zip code, how that happened I don’t know since I use my billing address as my delivery address to avoid any issues. First problem in order to get an e-gift card refund I had to make a special trip to a home deport store to process the refund, you only find this out when searching online for how the refund process works for gift cards work not find the contacting customer support and go to store to initiate the process. Once the refund process was completed I was told that it take 48 hours for the funds to be reloaded still after 72 hours today And two more calls with support, I was told that it still hadn’t processed, and It would take another 48 hours. The only responsibility I take is when my home warranty company asked how I’d like to receive the funds the two choices were gift card or by check gift you’d get in three days check 14 days well I thought it was a no brainer we needed a frig asap we we already only buying food for a day or two because old unit was in and out and as of today nearly a week later nothing zilch.

The Home Depot is the worst customer service I have received in my life. I went to the Home Depot to find a microwave. They did not sell ANY appliances in the store (other than a couple broken ones). I had to order online. Item was delivered in a few days but after it was delivered opened the box and the item was broken in several areas. So much so that it could not be used. When I called the delivery service that had only delivered two minutes earlier they did not answer. I sent a text no response. I called the Home Depot a machine answered, I left a message, no one called back. I emailed them, no response. I called, text, and emailed no response. I called my bank and disputed the charge. After about a month of working with my bank they were not able to permanently reverse the charge, since I had signed that the item had been delivered. I emailed and called Home Depot no response. After several times calling a person finally answered. They said that they would not be able to reverse since I had accepted the delivery. I explained I had notified them within minutes that the item was broken. They then said I would have to have the item, schedule a time for them to pick up, and put me on hold to ensure "LG" would take the order back. Eventually LG said they would, I was told a day they would come, which I had meetings. They then asked when I would be home the next day. I said I work everyday, but I would leave work if they call. I called back and spoke to a dispute specialist who did not care to talk or take notes. She told me to "just take it back to the store". When I showed up, they told me they could not accept my return so I would have to call the online service. To summarize, three months and I still have not been refunded my $350. They now have it so lets see if they refund it or not.

This morning I bought a preasure washer, I stopped by the self checkout and purchased it, and employee asked me if I printed the receipt, I said yes, then she ask to see it, I showed her my receipt. I went to talk to a manager since I didn't think HD single people like this, the manager said they do that sometimes because the employee didn't help me, which I said, is a self checkout!

This company is terrible and extremely unprofessional. They did not hook washing lines up properly and water damage happened in my brand new home. Had to make a complaint and file a claim with their company now on top of moving I am dealing with finding a contractor to dry area and fix.

Home Depot scheduled a delivery and install for a dryer. They Failed to deliver on original scheduled date. A new delivery was scheduled. Home Deport unilaterally changed the delivery date to an unacceptable date. When trying to reschedule customer service said there was a 30 day limit and we could only cancel the order or accept the unilateral delivery date. So Home Depot screwed up, cost us time and effort, and we have to STILL find and schedule the appliance. I will NEVER order from Home Depot. - they refuse to fix THEIR mistakes. Dryer NOT delivered, order cancelled

I originally purchased a complete set of kitchen cabinets from the Irondequoit store, but they did not have all of the cabinets upon delivery. Therefore, I was advised to accept a refund from the Irondequoit store and repurchase the missing cabinets at the Greece store and that they should honor the previous discounts. The Greece Store customer service vehemently refused to honor the discounts which was over $200. I also called corporate customer service, and they also refused to honor the discounts and when I asked the associate for his name, he hung up on me. These actions do not exemplify great customer service that the founders Arthur Blank and Bernad Marcus made the hallmark of the company. Very Disappointed.
