“Had to return a pair of sandals after paying delivery charge was not expecting to pay postage at my own cost to return them. Total of nearly £10 on the item is not acceptable”

“I recently bought 2 jumpers for my husband totalling over £200 one was not as good quality so I took it in store to return it I was told by the shop assistant if I return in store I can only have a gift voucher and no refund. I do not want a gift voucher for £88 so I now have to pay to return it as well as paying £4.99 delivery I’m afraid no other store operates like this so no more purchases from HOF I will shop elsewhere.”

“I bought clothes from House of Fraser. I don't feel they are geared up for online sales. To charge postage on a £600 order goes against the grain - and then have to pay for returns. Linking their courier to return clothes would be a start. There are many other companies who do it far better. (One of the dresses I bought (£135) was delivered in a torn bag and crumpled)”

“Ordered earrings. Instead of sending me email regarding item being out of stock they’ve just sent me different earrings that I don’t like. No phone numbers and no answers to email. Very disappointed”

“I bought a jacket had to pay 4.99 to be delivered to the store and it was too small so I took it back to be told I had to send it back my self and pay the postage I took it to the post office and had to pay nearly £8 to have it sent back Motto of the story always read the small print. !!! Never again will I buy from there”

“Received this Blazer in a very crumpled state. Returning, as has been on hanger for several days now and creases still exist. It is the packaging of this garment that is at fault, it should have been much more structured, considering the delicacy of this particular fabric”

“Ordered a wallet and had no correspondence from them i had to contact them after a week or so just to find out it got lost in transport - had i not contacted them they wouldn't have gotten in touch to tell me this”

“Sadly the bag arrived damaged and scuffed. Offered £20 off an Armani Bag, total. It was a gift to be sent off the following day. Incredibly disappointed with such a large, reputable company.”

“the order process was easy through the website but the package arrived and had been packed as though someone was in a rush to get out the door. The jacket was totally wrinkled and the dress was too and had no belt to go with through the belt loop - it looked like an ebay purchase at best.”

“Product I ordered was the Reebok GT40S treadmill, however I was sent the Reebok GT40S One treadmill and didn't realise until I'd removed the packaging. Upon reading the description in more detail it does state GT40S One however the item name is misleading”

“Delivery was efficient and for the most part ok. One item, a toy does not work but to return or exchange is at my expense, which is ridiculous. The product is faulty.”

“Ordered 2 items of which one was totally different to the item selected on the webpage. I'm disappointed that items pictured just disappear and you receive items that you didn't want!! Then you have the hassle of sorting out a refund/return. This is the second time this has happened..”

“Very disappointed since you don’t have your same returns policy anymore! Apparently house of Fraser has joined with sports world, two totally different ends of the spectrum!! You used to be one of the best department stores but unfortunately no longer ☹️”

“Obviously end of line stock sent. Packages ripped and crumpled. Had query with bogof offer but was told through customer service you had to order two to get the one item free and order couldn’t be changed. Not helpful at all.”

“Feel the packaging is very substandard I.e. when you buy a design brand it comes in a reused plastic bag! No signature tissue paper/ bag that you would get if bought in shop hence not buying anymore presents for friends”
