“I’ve just moved address and am trying to update my details but it seems that I must buy a membership before they will change the address. I’ve responded twice now to say I’m not wanting membership but all they do is email me saying they can’t help. They have even said that I could be fined £500 if my pet is lost/found and I haven’t updated the details. This feels like very underhand tactics from them to force me to buy membership. Absolutely disgusting.”
“What a scam! should have read some reviews before buying this useless premium service. If you really love your pet stay away from this company. 1 star is being generous, I would have given - 0 stars if the option was available. NO reply, NO phone calls NO response at all.”
“£30 to transfer details! I don’t think so.
And then pay yearly ????
Goodbye 👋
My cat will be having another chip but someone who don’t charge stupid prices !!!!!!!!!!”
“This is a scam, I had my kittens chipped and the vet told me I had to put my details in on their website, I’ve never done this with my other pets. I went on there and they wanted to charge me so much a year for my kittens details to be verified. I’ve paid for a chip, I’m not paying anymore. I’ve received loads of phone calls, emails and texts saying my kittens are not verified. I’ve blocked your phone number, so I won’t be answering. My kittens are wearing tags with all their details on because I do not trust this company. I’m looking in to having their chips switch to a trustworthy company.”
“You do not have to pay for a subscription to update details - simply re register your pet with one of the free ones.
Just google it, I have moved away from this lot as they want £10 per year to update one change of address.
pet database dot com is free”
“I have contacted https://www.animalcaregroup.com/about-us/board-of-directors Jennifer Winter CEO and Chris Brewster CFO giving them one last chance to respond or I will go to trading standards and the national press.”
“£30 per year is just too much so i tried to cancel it within 2 weeks but it is nor possible on the website nor contacting support. They don't respond to my email nor answering phone calls. So I decided to contact my credit company to block them and it was the right decision. A year later, they sent me a email saying they can't charge my card!! They still keep sending the same automated email despite of my response. There are much cheaper and proper companies for this . I don't understand why this company has good reviews on "Trustpilot"”
“I got the email asking for money for nothing the day after the chipping, and unsubscribed. What rubbish. My dog was stolen and ended up in a vet, where she would have been scanned and returned to me just because of the initial registration.”
“Scam. I paid Premium for my two dogs. I’ve found one of them doesn’t exist in their database. No one answers premium phone, which is described as 24/7 helpline. This is terrible service. I don’t trust them anymore and will change to another company. Waisted £40”
“I have 6 dogs registered with 4 different databases (there are 13 in the UK!) This crowd seem to have nobody answering the phones - it is impossible to speak to anyone. All you get is a repetitive sales message while on hold, only to be told they are too busy to take your call, ask that you leave your details for a non-existent callback. They then terminate the call. I rang back 5 times and got the same. Imagine if you were distraught having lost your pet.. Sorry but it's just not good enough. I will ensure any future chips will not be registered through this shower. BTW Pettrac answered after 2 rings. After reading many reviews it appears the call centre is pointless, also i did not realise i can move my chips to another company. This i will be doing ASAP.”
“An absolutely awful company. Their business practices are an absolute disgrace.
When I paid £30.00 over the telephone to transfer my new dog into my name from a previous owner, Identibase did not tell me that the fee would be autorenewed every year, or that they had kept my card details on file. Both of these acts were without my specific permission or consent.
Nor did they refer me to their terms and conditions that state they will autorenew the fee every year.
I feel very unsafe knowing that my dig has an Identibase chip in her, as I feel I will be "blacklisted" if she goes missing for no other reason than I have complained about their shoddy business practices. To be fair Identibase say they have now cancelled the autorenewal, and say they have deleted my card details, but only after complaining in an email and on the phone to them.
Identibase should be ashamed of how they conduct their business dealings.”
“Have to pay a subscription to change basic account data, important data such as your address! Ridiculous. I will be changing my cats chip & database.”
“I adopted a cat so changed fhe ownership details to me. I recently changed phone number but had to pay and J seem to be paying £3 a month. What for? No option to change membership or cancel online, unless I tell them my cat has passes away. Based on these reviews, I don't fancy my chances of being able to get hold of them via phone or email.”
“They’ve changed their services. Previously I was able to update my contact number by requesting a change via email. Now they say I need to upgrade my subscription (cheapest one is £30 a year) in order to make any changes so essentially expecting me to pay £30 to make sure their database is up to date. Without a correct contact number how do they expect to provide the service they’re there for: reuniting me with my potentially lost pet.”
“Paid for identibase premium in joining.
My original certificate states;
“Unlimited change of address,
Addition of holiday address
One-off fee for the lifetime of your pet.”
Tried to make changes as telephone number needs changing, also we are moving, they want to charge me again
I have requested help,
I have to send them the certificate & try & find my original payment as proof.
Not very impressed. Altered my other dogs on different sites No Problem!
Think I will shift them all to Animal Tracker.”
